Question what’s wrong with flu a?

So last week, I started having a fever, headaches, and fatigue, and it turned out I had Flu A. I haven’t been to school in over a week because I swear I have no idea what’s wrong with my body anymore. The fever and other symptoms have gone away, but I’ve been dealing with this horrible anxiety that just won’t go away no matter what I do.

I constantly feel like I’m about to take a really important exam or go through the most nerve-wracking situation of my life. It’s like my body is stuck in a constant state of nervousness, and I can’t relax. Does anyone else feel this way?

My brother-in-law, who also had the flu, told me he felt the exact same way, super anxious and on edge, and that he still hasn’t fully recovered from that feeling even though he had the flu two weeks ago.
Another thing is that whenever I try to fall asleep, I can’t seem to focus on actually falling asleep. It’s almost like I have multiple people in my head thinking for me, or like my brain is trying to process a million different thoughts at once. I genuinely don’t know how to explain it. Please, someone tell me you understand what I’m talking about because I feel like I’m going crazy.

Quick flu recovery?

There’s a pretty bad sickness going around my workplace atm. On Monday and Tuesday I felt a bit fatigued but nothing worth calling off sick for - and then, around 2am on Wednesday , I woke up with the worst fever and body aching I’ve ever had . For the next 24 hours I could not get out of bed - not a hyberbole, it was disgusting! Chills, 103 fever, hallucinations, basically in and out of consciousness. I managed to get some orange juice down me and take an ibuprofen in that period. At 5am today I woke up very lucid . Today , I have aching throughout my body still, but the level of illness I am feeling has almost halved . It’s like a switch has been flipped and the fever has gone . I’ve never had this before with a flu - usually it’s several days of fever.

How hopeful should I feel that this is going to continue? Am I truly over the peak, or might there be worse coming? I have taken today off work, but if my recovery continues on this upwards trajectory, I don’t want to waste more sick leave . I’m also considering asking my doctor for antiviral meds, but heard they will likely be ineffective at this stage.

I used to be a smoker. One day, I coughed up phlegm containing black and brown specks, so I quit smoking immediately. I went to the doctor and underwent a CT scan, an X-ray, a sputum culture, and numerous other tests; all the results were normal, and nothing abnormal was found. Does anyone here know

The benzocaine ones I picked up at Walmart are useless. Anyone else have the same experience or am I getting the wrong kind?

Anyone else have super mild flu a or am I about to get wrecked?

My 12 month old started running a 102 fever 3 days ago, had a decreased appetite and was clingier and fussier than usual. I took her to her pediatrician yesterday since the fever hadn't gone away, expecting maybe an ear infection or UTI since there weren't other symptoms and was super shocked to find out she tested positive for Flu A. For the last few days (starting one day before her fever) I have felt like I'm "fighting something off". I've had an on and off low grade fever never going above 100.7 and a mild headache. I've had a few episodes of dizziness/funky head feeling and I have felt really run down and tired with the occasional body ache but otherwise have been fine. My 3 year old has selective IgA deficiency and gets sick if you even look at him wrong but so far has also been fine. He's sneezed a few times but no fever or anything and has allergies so I assume the sneezing is from that. My husband has been fine as well. What are the chances this is just super super mild for us? Has anyone else had mild flu a or had a start like mine and then ended up getting slammed with horrible typical flu symptoms? I'm used to the flu hitting suddenly and really hard so I'm cautiously optimistic. We haven't had our flu shots (not that we're against them just haven't gotten around to it yet) so that's not the reason for the mild illness.

Question Am I drama queen or is the normal?

Yo, so my school had a free flu and Covid vaccine thing, so obviously I did it. This was today, Tuesday. The thing this past week I’ve been really pushing myself (hang out with friends cause of my birthday this past Saturday) keep in mind I have a variety of immune system issues and disability, ei: lupus. Then Saturday and Sunday I really pushed it, spent all day Saturday hang with people, walking around, just a kinda long day over all. Sunday night I kinda noticed some drainage and scratchy throat. I shoved it the side thinking was probably allergies. Sunday, involved some walking considering the state fair but that night I went to a club with my partner and watched a performance of Rocky Horror Show. Lots a fun, got home at 2 (the latest I’ve ever been out). Monday, sinuses were much worse. I thought it might be a cold. Tuesday I went to classes either way. Anyway, all this is very long dramatic context for why does my arm hurt so bad? I didn’t think anything of it when they asked if I wanted the shots in the same arm. But now I’m much more sick (which I was expecting, regardless) with a cough and my shoulder hurts so bad that I can’t put any weight on it. Have a limited range in mobility and have to carry it when I walk. Due to my conditions, I have a very poor sense of pain as I am used to it but this shit hurts. There’s a little bit of warmness from the inflammation obviously but there’s no swelling or anything else. So am I being a drama queen for it hurting so bad or is this just normal? Keep in mind I haven’t gotten my vaccinations in a while due to medical reasons of me retaining them. Give it to my real, Doc.

Question Is this extremely faint line a positive? I am on day 14 of a covid infection and I still have symptoms. I can’t tell if it’s a cold now or still covid symptoms…

Question Post flu fatigue

I was diagnosed with post flu fatigue.

It's been a month since I had the flu but my body is so tired and I take a nap for hours and when I'm not taking a nap, I stay in bed most of the time when I'm home.

Doctor prescribed me herbal medicine to help with the fatigue.

Are there anything else I can do to recover?

Question what warrants going to hospital?

So I got the flu and I will admit sometimes when I’m sick I can get a little paranoid, so I just wanted to know what would warrant going to the hospital? What symptoms or experiences would make it recommended to go to hospital, my current symptoms are congestion, a cough, sore throat, body aches, headaches, dizziness whenever I stand up I have not passed out at any point, nausea but no vomiting, chills and a fever of roughly 39 degrees C (roughly 102 degrees F for those in the states)

Question Do I have the flu or something else?

I had a sore throat for a few days and then it turned into headache, fatigue, dizziness, chills, very little appetite, body aches, probably a fever (don’t have a thermometer), a lot of hacking up mucus from the mouth.

These worse symptoms have been going on for 3 days so far, and I have a slight wheezing when I breath in and out deeply. I’ve been feeling pretty out of it. Mucus also sometimes contains bright red blood, and I’m thinking that’s from the constant coughing and hacking up mucus but not sure.

Should I be concerned about any of these symptoms, or should I just let it run its course?

My body made my living, now it runs against me. Need your help.

I am 23M professional athlete or at least was, cause everything is at hold right now due to my symptoms.

So long story short, my life turned around after some mysterious illness I had in February, I wasn’t tested at the time, because I thought it was the next infection that I would just pass, so I can’t be sure it was COVID or something else, but I need your genuine advice please.

So the illness was bad it wasn’t a normal cold, I had a real bad sore throat, couldn’t even eat at some point, I also had chest x-ray and they told me it didn’t look good.

So as I initially recovered from the acute symptoms, I started training again maybe after 1 weeks, but something didn’t feel right, can’t really explain what, but I wasn’t at 100%.

Then one day maybe after 2 weeks my acute symptoms went away my body started acting really strange and still acts to this day 8 months later.

My symptoms are mostly neurological as I don’t seem to have major fatigue:

-I have this incredibly strange and awful feeling in my head, it resembles dissociation or some debilitating brain fog, but I don’t feel unreal or something, the feeling is mostly physical and I can’t really explain what it is. Fuzzy/spaced out/kinda dizzy. It is the worst when driving or when walking outside.

-Off balance/“gravitational pulls” when closing my eyes or lifting one leg up to put my shoes on.

-Headaches in my temple region, that come and go

-Dry eyes

-Body feeling “weightless” as if walking on clouds or something

Tests:

Normal Brain MRI. There was “high signal changes inflammation/fluid in my left mastoid ear region” and chronic sinusitis found though, ENT suspected some bacteria involved, so that could explain something, but not sure.

-Normal blood-work

-Normal neurological tests/ oto-neurological showed 37% asymmetry in left ear on post-rotatory chair.

-History of IBS-D

-Never had issues like these prior, I was in the best shape I’ve ever been to be honest.
