Day 70 of hooping every day!

Someone commented that my videos bring them joy because they no longer have the mobility to hoop themselves.

That comment sat with me all day. Being able to move like this, to hoop my heart out, is such a gift. I will keep forging forward, hooping as much as i can for as long as I can.

This one's for you u/dinosaurleah , and for anyone else missing what their body used to do 💛 I see you, and I hoop for you.

Might be a very unpopular opinion but while storytelling through a performance is beautiful, I just can't push myself through to give it a storyline and everyone seems to be very hyper that "having a story and telling it = good!! good for performance!! you should do that!!!"

Like... I would say I move mainly through emotions and simply for the movement itself?

Idk, this is stressing me out because I don't have a dancer's base. I only have movement and that movement is just (my movement), yaknow? Is it worth to ever perform without a storytelling idea?

First performance coming up next year and I'm still struggling on settling on a song because people around me are mainly performing something with a story, or something to show.

I don't, I just want to find a song I like, feeling the emotions within it and just work on expressing/connecting through that? Not to say it won't be expressive but I really, really can't push myself to find (specifically) a *storyline. The more I do the more I'm stressed out.

Does this happen to y'all too? 😭 Any advise?

Day 69 - hooping during golden hour at the beach brought beauty and a whimsical sweet moment with a smol human. Love the joy that hooping brings to others in addition to myself. Everyone loves hoops!

Its been a tough week. Im glad I have my silks, to remind me to find my inner joy and whimsy. No lessons, no practice, just put on my favorite Qveen Herby and let my flow take over

Safety note: I'm 65kg and these are rated 110kg. They're too stiff to do acrobatics which is fine by me. I don't think I would want properly rated stilts, I'm not that fast anymore.

I'm well versed in stilts, but have only logged a few hours on these. Handling a large pendulum when you can't stand still, is challenging.

Crapping myself at the end and shaking like hell because I ran out of adrenaline on my period lmao 😃

Going to work on my speed and tempo moving forth 😭

Messing around with foot hooping combos. I've seen people do some really cool stuff. Someday I hope to be able to complete the sequence smoothly.
