So ever since all this AI rewriting and reverse engineering stuff started i've been wondering for devices with locked software like fire tv sticks, etc.
Will this enable for more fire sticks to finally have e.g. android tv os running or lineage?
I'm quite inexperienced and after looking around e.g. for my specific stick, i've only found a TWRP unlock up until now...
Woke up this morning and my firetv remote no longer controls the volume on my tv or turns it off. I have tried every piece of advice google has given me and nothing has worked. Im currently trying the āChange TVā option in settings that has been recommended for probably the fifth time. when I change the selected TV back to the correct brand (for me TCL) and it prompts me to turn off the tv and turn it back on, i press the power button, then instead of turning off it asks me if the tv turned off. I select āNoā, it sends me back to the last prompt but now with a bit that says āAttempt 2/3ā at the bottom. I press the power button, doesnāt turn off, asks if it turned off, i select āNoā, and then it just says āTV Updatedā and kicks me back to the settings screen, changing absolutely nothing. What the hell do I do I just wanna mute my tv during the damn ads lol
iāve had a fire stick for a while but have never really been to knowledgeable about it, and have really only used it to watch movies and nfl games. A lot of the apps tbh at came with it originally (bee tv, hdo box, cinema hd v2) are no longer working. if anyone has any advice or can tell me how i can have access to more movies please let me know! im willing to learn lol
I have an RCA TV and a Samsung soundbar. Voice command works, but the remote control does not control the TV. I have tried many different IR profiles; any help?
Edit* It worked after reset fire tv remote control
Is anyone else having an issue with shows/movies on the Paramount plus app that are 1080p not streaming in HD on their Amazon firestick? The weird part is that 4K media streams absolutely fine, but when switching back to a show that doesnāt shoot in 4K itās perpetually fuzzy. For context, these are new shows that are currently airing.
Iāve also checked this on my Roku stick (on a secondary tv) & itās absolutely fine. So I donāt know if Amazonās having an issue, & if anyone else is experiencing it. Any tips on how to fix it? Iāve tried force stopping, clearing the cache & relaunching. Iāve also deleted the app, restarted the firestick & downloaded again on startup but still have the same problem.
I noticed there is a new version available, but I avoided 3.8.0 and stuck with 3.7.0 after they introduced the toggle proxy feature where folks turned it off and the app wouldn't load, or the title intro would and then just go back to the firestick home screen.
Has this feature been fixed now or is it still stuck in that infinite loop of booting up and crashing back to the home screen?
I have a sideload app I use for watching movies but it always buffers, is there an alternative that isn't a Nvidia as they are really expensive, I'm assuming it's the memory in the firestick that's causing it?
I would primarily be using the device with a Sony KD-65X7000G TV for the purpose of Netflix/other streaming apps, as well as streaming games using Steam Link. I have no interest in side loading and please do not suggest Onn they are prohibitively expensive and difficult to import.
I have a 4k Plus with the latest OS. Iāve linked Prime with my Movies Anywhere. The only way Iāve found to see my movies via Amazon is a terrible long horizontal list. Is there any way to see them in a grid, and/or with filtering options based on genre or other categories?
At this point, itās better to download the Apple TV app to browse my digital movie collection.

I was watching SpongeBob on my PlayStation 5 Digital Edition when the marker was on my Insignia Fire TV screen protector (which is on the bottom left corner) but my TV didnāt mess up, so Iām not sure š¤ if itās a problem but itās still there so Iām sure itās just not a problem (if it was an actual thing) but itās not my Lenovo Tab One but itās the same marker on the screen protector. It was. Not that.
ViewFinity S7 UHD monitor: I bought a new Fire TV Stick 4K for my Samsung ViewFinity S7 4K monitor. When booting up, it displays the static Fire TV logo for a few seconds, but right after that, the signal drops to a blank/black screen. The stick works fine on my TV, and the monitor's ports support HDCP 2.2. Is this an HDMI handshake, resolution, or power issue? How can I get it to work?"
A few months ago, I faced a weird issue with my Amazon Fire TV Stick, which I bought around four years ago.
Issue Screen
When I turned on the TV, I was greeted with a screen saying,Ā āSign in with Your Amazon Account.āĀ The problem? My Fire TV remote wasn't responding because it had somehow become unpaired. Even the previously paired Amazon Fire TV remote app wasn't working.
I tried restarting the device multiple times, but nothing worked. I also went through online forums, where people suggested leaving the device on for 30 minutes so it could reset automatically. No luck there either.
As a last resort, I contacted Amazon support and explained the entire situation. They couldn't identify the reason why the device had suddenly logged out and suggested sending it to an Amazon service centre for further diagnosis.
I contacted the service centre, followed up with their team, and eventually sent my device in.
Being a Software Engineer, I suspected there was nothing fundamentally wrong with the hardware. The device had probably entered some weird state due to an update or a software glitch. Since the remote was unpaired, I simply couldn't navigate the screen to get past the login page. I suspected that connecting a physical keyboard would let me fix the issue in minutes.
After about a week, the service centre informed me that the device couldn't be repaired and would need to be replaced. They quoted approximately ā¹3,000 for the replacement.
I was a little surprised by the outcome, as I suspected the issue might be software-related rather than a hardware failure. I decided to get the device shipped back and try a different approach myself.
Fast-forward to today.Ā I bought this adapter (see image) for around ā¹250, which allowed me to connect a physical keyboard to my Fire TV Stick.
I was able to navigate the screen using the keyboard, sign in to my Amazon account, connect to Wi-Fi, and pair my original remote again. My Fire TV Stick was back to working exactly as before. I even updated it to the latest firmware!
All it took was a ā¹250 adapter and a few minutes of troubleshooting.
Had I opted for the replacement, I would have spent around ā¹3,000 on a device that, as it turned out, was perfectly functional.
