So my main screen is basically blank.
The only way to access apps is by going into the menu.

Hi everyone. I’m in a bnb trying to use an Amazon fire tv. The Fire TV model is 55PF650 and all the suggestions online work only if I have the account logged in. Do someone know how to remove it so I can just watch the tv?

It worked really well for about 2 years. I could control basically everything with my remote or voice. I’ve checked CEC, I’ve managed my equipment, I bought an external IR.. nothing works. Like what the fuck? How does it work perfectly one day and then the next it can’t pick up anything.

Just installed and can't believe I've been without for the months that I've had for months. The layout takes getting to but ad free and no in video sponsorships. So are there downsides that I should know?

Do you all recommend Vizio
I have had every type of tv- expensive and budget and they all eventually lose picture and get those horizontal lines. Tv in my bdrm is a 75 inch LG I had for 5 yr and now horizontal lines- I need a 75 inch to go in LGs place .. Should I get
TCL 75 inch Q series 75Q51k
LG 75 UA75
TCL 75 QsLR
samsung. 75 M70HB
Insignia™ - 75-inch Class F50 Series LED 2160p 4K UHD Smart
Insignia™ - 75" Class QF Series QLED 4K UHD Smart Fire TV
I also plan on getting 4 yr warranty so when this tv goes out it can be replaced- I will also get professional install and mounting. Tv is just a tv to me- I watch peacock mostly- i feel like they all go out at 5 yrs ?I just want a reliable tv that will last longer than 5 yrs.

I have a new fire TV (Xiaomi F 32) and generally it works great, but I'm having an issue with specifically Apple TV shows on it where certain shots are almost completely pitch black. If the camera angle changes, it goes back to normal, but if the show then cuts back to the same angle it goes back to pitch black. I've checked on my phone and the show does not look like that there, nor have I seen this happen on any other streaming app (although I'm yet to try most of them. Definitely doesn't happen on YouTube or the NJPW app tho)
Anyone have any idea what on earth could be causing this?

Having a bit of an issue trying to fix my grandparents firestick, its stuck on the amazon (not the firetv) loading screen. Previously there was an issue of them being unable to watch anything but still working otherwise (as stupid as that sounds to say)
His son in law apparently tried to fix it by deleting stuff off, apparently including amazon music but im assuming primarily the cache.
Ive tried searching online but all the advice is a full power cycle and then leave for 25 minutes which was unsuccessful and swap HDMI ports, of which their TV only has the one.
Any alternative solutions??

How do I go about looking into this? I just got rid of bloatware through “Firestick Cleanup” from GitHub, but I’d like to completely get rid of the launcher for Projectivity.
Anyone got insight?

You may have noticed Alexa refuses to change the channel to Channel 4 in the UK.
Say, "Alexa, play Channel 4", the response is "I couldn't find 4".
Or say, "Alexa, tune into Channel 4" it rambles on about some near obsolete Harmony App"
Interestingly, it will change channels via voice command to other Channel 4 channels like E4, More 4, Film 4.
NOW I've found a workaround 🎉
Whilst playing around with various smart automations using my Echo Dots, I found that saying "Alexa, play Channel 5 Select", or "Tune into Channel 5 Select", it actually switches to Channel 4.
This also works with smart [Send Text Command] on various software like Home Assistant.
What's more, you can make the process more natural with a very simple Alexa 'Routine'...
INSTRUCTIONS
Create New Routine > Voice > (type) Play Channel Four > Next > Add Action > Fire TV > Select your Firestick or Fire TV > Play Content > (type) Play Channel 5 Select > Next > Save.
Go to your home screen and say "Alexa, Play Channel Four'. Hey Presto, Channel 4 should Appear.

The JustWatch on my iPhone showed Never After Dark for rent at $7.99 at Plex, but I was unable to rent it using the FireTV Plex channel, which only showed higher-priced pre-release rentals. On my lapttop browser, however, plex.tv showed it was available to rent for $7.99, which I did. I opened the Plex channel on my FireTV, looked in my saved titles, and it was not there. I checked the JustWatch channel, where all there was were higher-priced pre-release advance rentals. I found it right away on my iPad''s Plex app, mounted the iPad on my goose-neck, put on my Bluetooth earbuds, and started watching. I'd say Amazon and FireTV want to block Plex, which worked fine on my old plasma screen with a Roku box. FireTV's AppleTV channel gets similar treatment; you have to rent the movie on your PC browser, start it, pause it, close the window, then find it in your saved rentals in the FireTV AppleTV channel. Amazon protects its FireTV turf by hampering AppleTV, and just squashing Plex altogether. Billionaire broligarch behavior.

The original remote for my 3-ish year old FireTV stick crapped out a bit ago and I would just use the app, until I moved to a new place with new wifi. I bought a new remote but it won’t pair with my stick.
I’ve tried taking batteries out of remote, resetting/rebooting remote, unplugging stick, etc.
Even when the “Can’t find your remote” screen pops up, it will not pair.
Any ideas?
Thank you!

Hello, I have kodi installed on the firestick 4k max but i am having trouble playing the dtshd ma soundstream. Its constantly buffering with my local NAS. Network not the issue, what could be the issue? Can the 4k max handle this audiostream?

Hi,
Has anyone else noticed that you cannot just tell Alexa to play or pause since YouTube AI was added?
Took a few tries but Alexa says it’s cuz the fire cube (3rd gen) and youtubes voice controls cannot work together anymore unless you use the remote

I am the account holder on the Amazon Firestick since my family don't know how to set it up and manage it, but I have spent the last few hours on my settings, my mom's setting, the website, tring to prevent stuff I watch from showing up on the other profile.
My stepdad often has comments about anything that's not live action, whether it's got deep character arcs and mature themes or is a 90's cartoon, I just want them to only be visible on my profile.
Similarly, I don't want to see Ancient Aliens or shows about trucks to show up on my own profile.
Also my mom accidentally got to a Mr. Beast 24/7 stream that keeps showing up on Continue Watching that neither of us want to see. How can we remove that from Fire TV homescreen?

Hi, I have an Insignia TV with the Fire TV setup built into it. Around last month, it started making a shrill noise when I’d be playing audio on it. There’s no clear rhyme or reason for when the sound pops up, but it happens too frequently to ignore. Even when I try to change the audio output, plugging in speakers or connecting Bluetooth headphones the sound carries over. I’ve tried everything I could think of. I unplugged it and eventually plugged it back in, I adjusted all the sound settings, I factory reset the TV in case it accomplished anything. Is there anything left I can do to solve this issue? I just want to be able to use my TV again.

Having trouble getting through a captcha that is just clicking a box that says “I’m not a robot” and then a button that says “Proceed”, thinking it may be due to how the cursor is moving making the site think I’m a robot. I tried not using the cursor and using the touchpad control on the app remote instead but nothing is working. Has anyone else had this problem/have a potential solution?
New FireCube 3. onscreen keyboard no longer transcribes voice (from alexa button) into text, like it used to do in every other Fire device.
I saw some other posts on this -
https://www.reddit.com/r/fireTV/comments/1susugq/voice_to_text_stopped_working_cube_2nd/
https://www.amazonforum.com/s/question/0D5at00000jJMhWCAW/speech-to-text-no-longer-working
they say its an Amazon issue, do a restart/cache clear etc. none of that is working

hi , just wondering if anyone might know if there is there any reason in particular that these TVs apparently do not stay on? Im not sure if there is like a secret jailbreak code i could try so my TV will remain on unless I personally pick up the remote and turn it off… I didn’t even know this was something I would have to consider when making the mistake of buying this TV…. And no, I do not have a sleep timer on or any other setting in which I have manually set my TV to turn off at random times in the middle of watching something.

My apps keep buffering and will work with a reset for maybe 10 or 15 minutes. Not losing internet because the apps will work in a sense that they will show all the content but Netflix will get stuck on 20% when trying to load a show. I have done all the normal trouble shooting techniques.

For anyone who uses the streaming “Watch TCM” app on an Amazon firestick or fire TV (or probably any other TV), it seems that the app is currently not working—AFTER IT LOGS YOU OUT AND YOU HAVE TO LOG BACK IN—because TCM broke the tcm dot com/activate webpage. This is not an authentication problem with xfinity or my inability to access the TCM streaming app on other devices, because I was just able to make the TCM streaming app work on my iphone after it had logged me out. I am also NOT able to use TCM through the Amazon silk browser on my firestick because the provider authentication is broken when I try to logon. This seems to be an issue with cable provider authentication for the Watch TCM streaming app that can only be done from within the TCM activation website.
When I open the TCM streaming app on my Firestick, I am asked to log in. (This app is my only streaming app that seems to log me out every single week.) I went to the TCM dot com/activate webpage on multiple browsers on my iPhone, Amazon fire tablet, and Windows 11 laptop. On every browser, I am able to enter the activation code provided on the TCM streaming app on the firestick, then I go to the next page where I select the provider (xfinity) and the webpage just hangs and goes no further. (All of the provider links are broken and will go no further. So if I click on Spectrum as a provider it also hangs.)
I tried to use TCM on the Amazon silk browser on the firestick. It asks me to authenticate my xfinity provider. But it hangs after I put in the password.
It should be noted that I am able to authenticate the Xfinity provider separately on my iPhone outside of the TCM app. Then I can use the TCM streaming app on my iPhone.
Is anyone having similar problems with the TCM streaming app on any other types of devices or for any other cable providers?
