It’s just been done
I’d wanted it for a long time; definitely my last one for this game 🥲

Just wondered what people generally consider a good time to beat the entire game without using exploits or skipping cutscenes.
Currently at Bikanel a shade over 11 hours after annihilating Seymour with Kimahri using Firaga for 4,500 damage.
For reference, I'm on the Standard Grid.

Long ago, when i was a wee preteen lad my brother got me this game, it was before i learned enough english in school and from games to grasp every mechanic. That did not stop me from loving this game, mastering blitzball, but as i played and it become more and more difficult i finally found a hill i couldnt overcome, no matter how much i grinded. The 3rd seymour fight, i grinded and grinded, moved along the sphere grid, kept moving and trying and failing
Eventually a mate of mine also bought it for his ps2, and i was there when he got the instructions for the sphere grid, where he was told how to activate sphere notes and use the spheres on the sphere grid instead of just moving along it....
So i grinded again, used spheres and was finally able to take the fucker down, the rest of the game was challenging for me cause i was woefully underleveled.
And thats how i almost played my first playthrough with no sphere grid
Whoops

I've already player FFXV and a bit of FFVII remake, but besides that I don't have any experiente w/ the franchise, nor I have w/ turn-based RPG games. So this lack of experience made me worried about if I'm going to actually like the game or think it's too difficult for me.
Got any tips?

Hello! Just beat the game for the first time the other day and want to try grinding for the Dark Aeons. Been seeing guides on how to max out stats, though they kinda get overwhelming to look at.
Mostly just want to know the general method to it, like when to use Strength Spheres, Magic Spheres, HP Spheres, etc. Are all the empty nodes in the Sphere Grid enough or can I somehow replace the nodes that give little stats?

After two previous attempts long ago, before really understanding when to level and good battle strategies, I finally beat the game last night! Played it on Steam Deck and was really great as a handheld game.
This game was truly a wonderful journey, and I think Yuna is now my favorite protagonist from any FF (and possibly any game). She is just such a pure soul who deeply cares about the people of the world, and yet still so strong of will and heart. And even her combat is some of my favorite from any FF. I really love a good white mage and the way they can counter enemies and keep the party going. Couple that with her awesome summons and getting holy and ultima by the end, and Yuna is just so much fun to play in battles.
And the summons! I think FFX Bahamut is my favorite summon across all the games. His summon animation never gets old for me, and his design is so awe inspiring and divine. I found myself sad to say goodbye to him at the end.
I also surprised myself and did some end game content. I got Yuna and Lulu's celestial weapons, and that was a really fun experience for me. I wasn't sure I could do the lightning challenge, but I was able to lock in when I stopped trying to count and just zoned in for 20mins or so while my partner read next to me and the cat zoomed around the couch.
I will probably play FFX-2 at some point now too. I played a little while ago and really loved that battle system, but felt very lost trying to figure out what to do. I was thinking of getting the old physical strategy guide to help me with it. Does anyone know if that guide is good? Is it good for 100%+?

Hello my fellow Yevonites! It’s been a minute since my last update, but I’m very proud to announce the latest feature of FFX Companion for iOS.
Included in this update is a modern, interactive sphere grid for both the standard and expert pathways. From here you can explore every node, search, plan out how to maximize stats and find the shortest path between two nodes.
This was a grind (pun intended) to give you guys & girls something worth using, but I’m very happy the way it turned out.
The app is still very much donation supported, but I have now included a one time purchase option which gives you unlimited sphere grid edits and path calculations. In the future there will be many more features, and this lifetime purchase will cover every upcoming feature forever.
Check it out here
As always, please leave a comment for any feedback and feature requests.

Hey FFX fans and all the UnX experts,
I recently installed FFX remaster HD on PC steam and got UnX (0.9.1.9) to work. Everything works fine, but the soft reset feature is broken.
The soft reset and turbo speed 8x shortcuts/feature is not working at all. I spent hours on Chatgpt, Gemini and Grox trying to figure it out but no luck.
When I hit the keyboard short cut for soft reset (ctrl + shift + delete), the soft reset triggers but just crashes my game. I see the 'broken glass' screen trigger, battle/music plays and then 1 sec later the game crashes. Controller shortcuts for UnX doesn't work at all, but I don't care about that.
I just need this soft reset for Blitzball.
I would really appreciate some help if anyone knows a solution!
Also, if anyone knows a soft reset mod or have a custom one, please share.

The sphere grid grind is over!! It took what felt like forever but I got there. Very time consuming but also surprised at how rare this is...Just a few more trophies to go now!

I can't remember if it was actually missable or I just couldn't figure out how to get back in there, but it scarred me. I have wanted to play again, but that and the lightning bolt boogie always have me thinking twice lol.

Kill Earth Eater, fill overdrives, get fortune spheres.
Kill Greater Sphere, get luck spheres.
Repeat steps 1 and 2.
I'm at this phase right now. Something about getting high, listening to some music, and getting these grinds done is cathartic.
Looking forward to my next grind of dark matter farming.
What was the most memorable grind for you all?

Hey friends. Recently playing through the game for the first time in years. Having a blast this time around. I wanted to ask some questions to see if I could clear up a few details?
This playthrough, I noticed in the beginning how the characters follow the teachings pretty blindly and without question, and Tidus is the only voice of “why?”. Once Auron shows up, there is suddenly a second voice. Not immediately against the teachings, but a strong voice of “the church is corrupt and the pilgrimage is what matters”.
He doesn’t let the church stop them. He says they’ll fight the church if they have to. He says the traitor status doesn’t matter. Auron is insistent that no matter what choices the party makes, the only thing that matters is getting Yuna to Zanarkand. He says it’s because he promised Braska and Jecht, but once we get to Zanarkand, we see that Auron was the main voice saying the pilgrimage is wrong. So…why did he want this? Was his plan to get them to Zanarkand with the hope that by the time they got there, they would see the truth and make the right decisions? When Seymour is revealed to be evil, Auron is the first to say “to hell with tradition. We protect Yuna.” When Yuna says there will be no choice, Auron is the first one to stand up and be ready to take down one of the highest members of the church.
There’s the quote from Jecht about “thinking of something” to break the cycle, and we know that Auron rode Sin to get to Zanarkand, which was presumably Jecht/Sin that he did that with.
So..was there a plan? When Jecht became Sin, did he learn the truth that no one knew? Did Jecht/Sin somehow talk to Auron and tell him the plan? Was the plan made by just Jecht and Auron? Were the Fayth in on it and that’s why the kid talks to Tidus and says “So. It Begins.” Was the entire party simply the chosen pawns of a larger scheme by the tired fayth to finally do what they knew needed to be done?
Any thoughts, speculations, or established canon that I don’t know about would be appreciated!
