Apparently she needs a dog for psychiatric & physical disability reasons.
I have a feeling her dog is more of an "emotional support" animal and less of a "service" animal.

Unsure if this is the right subreddit for this discussion, but I’ve seen a major influx of young adults (around my age, 18-25) on TikTok claiming to need mobility aids such as canes, crutches, and wheelchairs. Most commonly, the disability they claim to have is POTS. Everyone who I see post about having these disability issues or mobility aids also all look very similar to one another: white, dyed bright hair, chubby, alternative sense of fashion. Kind of like the polyamorous stereotype.
I’m just confused about why there is this sudden shift to everyone claiming now a physical disorder and spending money on these aids that they certainly do not need, which takes away from the people that actually do need them. I guess mental disorders weren’t giving them enough attention anymore.

When me and my friends were young (elementary/middle school age), we used to think our group had elemental powers (I controlled fire, it was epic) and that there were these two demons that followed us around called Zonker and Coolio, whose names we couldn't say because they were bad luck.
Anyways, one day one of my bffs told us that she had the reincarnated spirit of a Native American chief named Hawk trapped inside of her. Yup. I think she made that up cause we live in the Pacific NW close to many reservations, but it still makes me laugh knowing that she's Arab-American saying this. So what we would do is stay up till like 3 in the morning during sleepovers, join hands in a circle, and do his summoning chant. Then she would fall forward and lay there for like a minute before sitting up like she just woke up from a dream, and we'd ask "Hawk" about demons and ghosts and spells for travelling between dimensions through the portal between the trees. We had this idea that whenever her mom said no to a sleepover that we'd just travel to a new dimension where she would say yes later in the day. Funnily enough, it worked every time.
Thing is, I really wanted another spirit too, so one day when it was just me and one other bff hanging out, I told her that I had the spirit of a monkey inside of me hahahahaha so we did the chant except with "Monkey" instead of "Hawk" and I basically just sat there and gaslit her for an hour pretending that I had some sacred knowledge and shit like Hawk did.
So yeah, we did the fake DID shit at least a decade before tiktok did as dumbass kids. I won't say I'm not proud of it because in hindsight it's funny as shit to think about a group of 12 year olds so earnestly believing this shit. To this day I don't say Coolio's or Zonker's name out loud because istg we were manifesting our own bad luck by implicating those names or something lmaooo.

She posted a video today, October 6th 2026, discussing her cardiac history, and there are some interesting discrepancies when you compare it with what she wrote contemporaneously in April 2022.
On April 27, 2022, immediately after a failed procedure, she posted a detailed explanation. She said that because of her dysautonomia, her body reacted differently to medication and sedation. She said the first dose of sedation didn’t work, so the anesthesiologist gave her a second dose. She then said: “they gave me so much sedation that my body completely relaxed and my connective tissue gave out”and claimed that this caused her hips, knees, shoulders, and several ribs to dislocate/sublux on the procedure table. She then explained why the ablation couldn’t be completed: “The doctors performed an EP study and we’re unable to recreate my Atrial tachycardia and recurring AFIB and as a result weren’t able to go through with the ablation.”And then she gave a specific explanation for why the arrhythmias couldn’t be reproduced “The theory is that my body was too sedated to react to the medication so it was impossible to re-create my heart arrhythmias.”
Four years later, she is telling a somewhat different story. She says she was told that the ablation failed because she was “double dosed” with sedation. But she now says that she has subsequently learned that this isn’t something doctors support as an explanation for why an atrial tachycardic event couldn’t be reproduced. And then she says: “I STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT HAPPENED ON THAT DAY.” That’s a pretty significant change in certainty.
In 2022, she presented the sedation explanation as “the theory” explaining the failed EP study. In 2026, she is telling her audience that she now knows that explanation isn’t medically supported and that she has no idea what actually happened.
So her own current account essentially calls her earlier explanation into question.
Then there’s today’s cardiology appointment. She says she went to a cardiologist today because she had discovered old cardiac information that had apparently been overlooked. She says: “I was told they had found 200 counts of AFIB on the monitor from four years ago”and that doctors had apparently disagreed for years about whether those readings were actually AFIB. She then says: “today, they found notes and there was the proof I’ve had AFIB, atrial tachycardia and different form of SVT this entire time.”But earlier in the same story, she says that the cardiologist wouldn’t see her because she has POTS.
She says she had repeatedly told them that she wasn’t there to be treated for POTS, but that POTS was repeatedly put down on the referral. And then, near the end, she says: “I didn’t get to meet with the doctor.”
So I’m confused. If she wasn’t actually seen by the cardiologist because the office considered POTS to be the reason for the referral and wouldn’t see her, who exactly reviewed the old records and discovered the “proof” today?
It’s certainly possible that a nurse, medical assistant, referral department, or another staff member accessed her existing records without her having a completed physician appointment. It’s also possible that she already had access to the old reports herself and is describing something she learned while trying to get the appointment because she plugged it into ChatGPT or something…
So I’m not saying this is impossible. But her wording makes it sound like:
“I went to a cardiologist today, they found the old records, they confirmed these diagnoses, but I never actually got to meet the cardiologist.”
If that’s what happened, I’d really like to understand exactly who reviewed the records and what documentation they actually found. There’s also an important distinction between: “A monitor report contained 200 events labeled AFIB” and“I definitively had 200 clinically confirmed episodes of AFIB.”
Likewise, finding an old note mentioning AFIB, atrial tachycardia, or another SVT doesn’t necessarily establish that every one of those diagnoses was confirmed in the way she’s presenting them now. We’d need to see the actual report/records.
The suspicious part isn’t simply that she has multiple heart conditions. It’s the way the narrative changes depending on when she’s telling it. In 2022, she gave a very detailed explanation for the failed ablation and described a specific physiological mechanism. In 2026, she says she now knows that explanation isn’t supported and says she has no idea what actually happened. At the same time, she’s now saying that old records apparently contain evidence of multiple arrhythmias that she says doctors failed to tell her about despite saying she didn’t actually get to meet with the cardiologist who supposedly uncovered this information TODAY!!
Maybe there’s a perfectly innocent explanation for all of this. But if we’re taking her claims at face value, I’d expect the underlying records to make this pretty easy to clarify:
What exactly did the 2022 EP study report say?
What did the electrophysiologist document as the reason the arrhythmia couldn’t be induced?
Was excessive sedation actually documented as a theory?
What did the original cardiac monitor report actually label as AFIB?
Were the “200 counts” actually AFIB episodes, or monitor detections/alerts that were later questioned?
What are the “different forms of SVT” she says were discovered?
What exactly did the recent cardiology office review?
Who reviewed those records if she never actually saw the cardiologist?
What did the old echocardiogram actually say about the mitral valve and the other valve?
What did the supposedly “urgent” referral actually say?
Those records would answer most of this. We’re getting increasingly elaborate retrospective explanations for old medical events, while her own newer account sometimes contradicts the certainty of her earlier account.
Below is a transcript of the video:
“I’ve already cried a lot today. I’ve had several heart conditions for four years. I have medical PTSD, and talking about anything uncertain before I’ve had time to process and decide how I’m going to cope is one of my worst fears. I do not like crying online. So today I’m being brave and talking about this when it’s something I just didn’t want to talk about.
People will come online just to invalidate someone’s reality, and I don’t know how to process that because it’s already taken me long enough to trust my own emergent symptoms.
In 2022, I went to a cardiac doctor, and they referred me to an electrophysiologist because they found that I had atrial tachycardia and needed an ablation. So they attempted to do that ablation, and it failed. The reasoning that they gave me was that they double-dosed me with sedation. But I’ve since then found out that’s not even something that doctors support as a theory of a reason to not be able to recreate an atrial tachycardic event. I still have no idea what happened on that day, but attempted ablations fail all the time, so it’s not that crazy. So that was fun to learn.
My scan from two years ago shows I developed mitral valve leaflet thickening and regurgitation. Another one of my heart valves has regurgitation.
I remember getting a phone call saying it was urgent, but there was an insurance issue and they couldn’t get me in. And I became homeless, and it was just this trickle-down effect, and so it just kept getting put on the back burner. My heart wasn’t doing anything I wasn’t already used to it doing, so I didn’t think it could possibly be that urgent. I wasn’t feeling anything that was excessive. I have POTS, and I have a specialist at Stanford that has continuously been treating that. The only thing I haven’t done is start infusions because I’m not ready to take that next step. This also, to my understanding, should have nothing to do with structural or electrical issues with the heart, so it’s irrelevant. But also, there is nowhere in my area that’s a network that will even take that order. So I would have to essentially move because those are biweekly appointments of infusions, and getting in-home visits isn’t an option in the area. There is no facility that provides that service.
But I went to a cardiologist today that, because I had POTS, I was not able to be seen there. I’ve told them numerous times I wasn’t going there to be treated for that. They continuously put that down in the referral.
But of course, the craziest part of this story is that I was told they had found 200 counts of AFIB on the monitor from four years ago, and I had doctors go back and forth ever since then on whether or not that was true or not.
I had known about the AFIB but was told, ‘It’s no big deal if you can’t even feel it. It’s probably not even a good reading.’ And today, they found notes, and there was the proof I’ve had AFIB, atrial tachycardia, and different form of SVT this entire time. And nobody told me.
I knew about the atrial tachycardia and the AFIB, but I was gaslit on the other form of SVT. And right now, I don’t even know what that was because I didn’t get to meet with the doctor.
I have to wait for another month, even though this visit was planned three and a half, actually four months ago, and here we are waiting again. So yeah. That’s my pickle.I don’t really know what to do from here. I don’t know what the symptoms are coming from, what condition, what can you do?”

It’s already been irritating me that faking disorders like DID has become so common and normalised on the internet that even some communities I’m in have rampant fakers who everyone just rolls over for and you aren’t allowed to criticise but something I just came across put fright in me.
I’ve always known about stuff like fictionkin and therian and otherkin in general for a while now and didn’t think much of it other than a teenager phase of pretending to be animals or fictional characters because we’ve all done that before but I came across one of these subs and oh my god. This is an entire community of people who need serious help. They genuinely, unironically believe they are these fictional characters or animals stuck in a human body. And of course a lot of them fake disorders too, most commonly DID. They claim to have false memories and shifts and the entire thing really strikes me as a gateway into psychosis. The fact that they have the internet and these echo chambers who only egg them on and refer to them as their desired character or animal (and often gets them into believing even more extreme stuff such as MUDs) really doesn’t help.
Roleplaying is fine. I love roleplaying. I do it all the time. But for a lot of this, especially the fictionkin community, it has gone past simply roleplaying or more extreme attention seeking and become borderline delusion and I’m seriously concerned for them. Your teenage years are probably your peak years for discovering who you are and becoming a unique person and my thought is that we’re going to have a ton of people in the future who are either completely lost as adults or delving further into believing this and having breakdowns or episodes. I saw a post earlier of someone claiming to be Kasane Teto saying their mum is forcing them to delete Reddit because of this.
What makes my fear worse is that I almost fell for this. I’m not going to elaborate because that could be considered trauma dumping and I don’t want to go against the rules but I began to believe that I was the reincarnation of a fictional character and it almost ended really badly. I’m doing better now because I didn’t have an entire community of people reinforcing my belief but this makes me fear for those who do, who are more likely do try doing what I wanted to. It’s entirely possible that it’s already happened.
Same thing with people faking disorders so much as to actually brainwash themselves into thinking they do have whatever they think they do. It screams to me someone who’s crying for help in some way. Even if they aren’t and they’re simply an attention seeker who actually thinks they have a disorder or wants to fit in to a community where they feel accepted, they still need help and it can really fuck up their future if they don’t get that, especially if they’re still young.
Sorry if this was long or didn’t make sense or doesn’t really fit here. I’m having a moment right now and I don’t know of a better community to post to since the other one I had in mind is unfortunately very accepting of disorder fakers and other concerning stuff and I’d probably be chastised for pointing out my concerns and “discriminating.” Thanks for reading.

Pretty sure the ‘system’ or alters are formed as a method of protecting oneself from extreme trauma, not just the formation fictives. And I’ve yet to see reliable info on how and why a fictive is formed. Seem like these wordings are only used in the ‘system’ community. And I see why there’s no reliable info on fictives. DID is rare on its own and I doubt that there are enough fictives to be studied

I think the biggest problem here is all alters in the car are conscious but they just aren’t ’controlling’ the car (a person’s body) but one of the diagnostic criteria of DID is amnesia since not all alters are ‘conscious’ at the same time

So I’m 18, and she’s 19. She claims to have DID and is always “swapping alters” like 4 times a day. Except her alters are literally TV show characters. Alistor from Hazbin hotel, Bakugo from MHA, Jessica rabbit, and then a straight up demon???
Said demon comes over and fucks with what I’m doing and contaminates food. Demon comes out when she wants to be edgy and rude to customers.
All my managers are old people and she threatens to sue if they write her up or fire her becuase it’ll be wrongful termination because she has a mental disorder.
PISSES ME OFF.
Meanwhile one shift manager (can’t write her up or fire her) actually looked into it had has completely caught onto her bullshit.
r/fakedisordercringe • u/ame_chan_rainy_days • 7d ago
I do agree with that since fakers are more exposed to the social media side of DID, which in most case is highly inaccurate (yk ‘system’ ‘headmate’ ‘introject’ etc) instead of the medical side of it. Still before suspecting yourself having DID (not just DID, pretty much every mental or physical disorder) people should’ve research, at least to some extent, before coming to the conclusion right? At some point during your research you’re bond to encounter sources that are at least, to some extent reliable. And these info should be enough to help you tell that, chances are, you don’t have that disorder
Quoting another post on the sub, you might know yourself better than a psychologist but the psychologist knows psychology better than you. And since DID is a convert disorder, professionals tend to need more time to observe before reaching the conclusion of a diagnosis (if needed). Also the certain professional you’re seeing might not be knowledgable enough to make a certain diagnosis, which in that case, they won’t.

The title explains a bit, but this has been bothering me for at least two weeks. I was just scrolling through TikTok when a video by this person popped up. They were discussing a serious topic regarding my country and so on, but I noticed "sys" in their username... I checked their profile, and the bio stated they were a "plural system."
Fakers have been hyping up this whole plurality thing—claiming you don't need DID or OSDD to have alters, a headspace, and all that (endogenics basically)—and since I spend so much time watching the garbage they post, whenever I see something like this, I just can't take the person seriously.
I need some opinions because I feel guilty; the topic they were discussing was actually relevant—it wasn't something I *should* avoid—yet my mind told me to steer clear so I wouldn't be associating with that kind of crowd.
I just needed to get this off my chest.

Bad psychologists/ health professionals exists but that’s not the reason why you should just reject all professional help and decided that you should go for the online ‘system’ community (and mostly to validate yourself cuz the professionals didn’t)

It has a lot to do with kids being raised by cell phones and junk food. It also has a lot to do with the lack of parenting, discipline and punishment. In a lot of schools in United States or Canada kids aren’t required to do any hard work, learn to act professionally, learn how to act in public or how to speak to other people. Theres little to no punishment for bad behaviour.
A lot of kids grew up seeing nonsense on the internet like “your feelings are the most important thing” and “self love is bubble baths and shopping” and “you don’t owe anyone stuff.” On top of that a lot of kids grew up being handed everything they cried for.
Instead of being taught that life is a tough world, you don’t always get exactly what you want, you can’t have every toy or junk food whenever you want it, the world doesn’t revolve around you, other peoples lives are hard too, life is not fair and more, they’re taught that being told the word no is boolieeing.
No one wants to grow up and deal with real life. It’s lot easier to pretend “I’m so mentally challenged so that’s why I’ll cry if I don’t get exactly what I want, everyone has to cater to me and I don’t know basic life skills“ instead of “the adults failed me, I was stunted and should learn how life works.”
Also a lot of people have no education on what being disabled means. They think being mentally challenged means being an otherwise normal adult, they get special privileges, accommodations, free stuff and attention.
They believe any sort of everyday discomfort is a disability, not liking a certain food is a disability, not always getting your way in life is a disability, other people not wanting to be your friend is a disability, and more. They think no one else has a life. They think no one else has likes and dislikes, feelings, bad days, bad moods or real hardship in life. They were taught they can have anything they want anytime they want and anything else equals being boolieed.
Newsflash: breakups, people moving on, other people having different opinions, not everyone wanting to be your friend, not everyone being interested in you, other people having lives, having bad days, bad moods, people dying, not getting your way, dealing with stuff you don’t like, having to eat food you don’t like, going through phases are all part of life.
