Keep an eye on the sky today everyone. You never know when those hamster dropships are gonna come burning down from orbit.

Half way through book 12, and the ECO is currently my second favorite group (behind the Merry Band of Pirates of course).
Devious little fuckers aren't they? Ethics and Compliance Office where ethics and compliance is optional. And Capt. Scorandum is just *chef's kiss*

Found this at the grocery store today. Could not NOT get it. First time I’ve ever seen it. Very excited!
So a bunch of people said that the books are set in 2030 and someone kindly pointed out that this is based on a SWAG assumption from the wiki. Basically it all hinges on when the first airbus A380 landed at Logan Airport. And it links to an article where the first commercial airbus A380 landed in 2018 except the first one to ever land was in 2010. It was a test flight. And since Columbus Day happened on October 14, that means that it could’ve been the 2019 one. So if Joe Bishop was six years old when he saw his first airbus A380 and he saw it in 2018, he would’ve been 19 on Columbus Day or possibly 20 depending on when his birthday fell. But he could’ve also seen it in 2010 and been 20 in 2019. Having it in 2019 makes more sense because the first book came out in 2016 and there aren’t tons and tons and tons of cultural references that occur after 2016. It’s a fictional universe and a fictional timeline and clearly there are lots of things that are stand ins for other things for copyright and funsies ¯\\_(ツ)_/¯ but a writer setting a book 3 years in the future and creating an alternate timeline from there is significantly easier than trying to write it 20 years in the future. In the end, it doesn’t really matter but at least in my head canon, 2019 is when it all began.

(Mild spoiler, enemy NPC basically)
“The last officer, having arrived late and running toward the makeshift barricade, had a brief moment of asking a shocked “What the f—“ in his own language…
…“when he was killed by the severed head of a fish traveling at Mach 2.”

So these books have their own little set of rules for the physical universe. But skippy constantly messes with those rules and turns them inside out but in a way that never really jumps the shark. What’s this concept? What’s the best way to describe it more elegantly (and captivatingly to get someone interested)?

I recently acquired a 3D printer and I my first creation to be of his Holyness Skippy Azurmoney. I've looked at a few files but if anyone here has some good ones I'd love to see them. Ideally I'd love to make a Bathtub Skippy but I can set that up myself.

I’m not gonna buy that line about “great taste”
You might as well be saying “now with fewer rat hairs!”

On one of the last books where it looks like she ran out of air and died, did she really die? This is devastating. She was one of my favorite characters
