Rejected new grad SD

Just got rejected for software developer after final interview. I was planning for may/June 2027 start so I’m wondering if epic hires more new grads during the spring (do I still have a chance?)

Life After Epic

I’m a roughly 1.5 tenure IS and I’m done. Im honestly not even sure where to go from here. People who have left epic, what industries have you applied for and gone to? I feel like the 1.5 tenure is not a long enough time to be a competitive candidate.
I’m done but the job market sucks. Thoughts?

Prospective employee Help a gal out

I used to work in healthcare before they switched over to epic, I’m in college full time for health informatics and I currently have my CCS but of course the job market for that is extremely competitive especially with zero experience in coding.
I’m looking for something to just simply get my foot in the door. Or what I should be looking for. I’m more interested in the IT side for ehrs or making sure patient information is all correct. My schooling is through DeVry and as much as I love it I feel like I’m getting scammed again with not having much luck in the job market. Some guidance would be lovely.
Thanks!

Trying to break into an Epic Analyst role. Should I consider contract opportunities or keep applying for permanent positions?

Hi everyone,
I currently work as an Application Analyst in a hospital IT department. I have several years of healthcare IT experience, and I’m trying to transition into an Epic Analyst position.
I currently have two Epic proficiencies (Security and Cadence), and I’m working on another Epic project build for Radiant. I’m also working on an Epic Unified Communications implementation project at my hospital.
I’ve applied for internal Epic Analyst positions but unfortunately haven’t been selected. I’ve also applied to several other hospitals and made it through hiring manager interviews and team/panel interviews, but haven’t received an offer.
I’m willing to learn new technologies, take additional training, and put in the work to grow into an Epic Analyst role. My biggest challenge seems to be getting that first opportunity without hands-on Epic production experience.
Lately, I’ve been contacted by several recruiters about contract Epic Analyst positions. However, I currently have a permanent hybrid position with benefits, so I’m hesitant to leave a stable job for a short-term contract.
For those who have been in a similar situation:
Would you recommend taking an Epic contract position to gain hands-on experience, even if it means leaving a permanent job?
Is it better to continue applying for permanent Epic Analyst positions and hope to find an organization willing to sponsor certification and training?
Has anyone successfully transitioned from an Application Analyst role into Epic without prior production build experience?
Do Epic proficiencies help when applying, or do most organizations prefer certification and production experience?
I’m just trying to figure out the best next step in my career. I enjoy working in healthcare IT and really want the opportunity to grow.

epic as 2nd job post grad

hi so i got my first job out of post grad 2 years ago at a big financial firm. finance is a cool field and all but ive always wanted to work in healthcare without being a doctor/nurse doing some sort of analytical/problem solve-y work. i am curious if epic (or if there are other companies out there like them..?) is a good 2nd job for me, as i know it's typically treated as someone's first corporate job. i got rejected from them way back when i was first looking for jobs post grad, but i imagine its been well long enough for that to matter, especially now that i have 2 years of experience elsewhere under my belt.

Hello everyone!

I am (or rather, was) a 1.3 year tenured IS who recently left Epic. As such, im looking for someone to take over the rest of my lease, which is shared with an (awesome!) Epic dev. Would post on avature but alas I do not have access. Info is below:

Lease takeover through May 31, 2027 — Fitchburg townhome

Looking for someone to take over my lease at 2987 Fitchrona Road. I’m moving back to Los Angeles, so the room and private bathroom are available in this two-story, two-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhome.

Your private room has a large closet and its own heating and AC unit. The shared home includes a spacious kitchen, living room, and patio overlooking Fitchburg. The building amenities include a gym, a game room with billiards and retro arcade machines, and a top-floor lounge with a pickleball court.

You’ll share the home with a friendly 23-year-old male roommate who works at Epic and has a dog, so you’ll need to be comfortable living with both a male roommate and a pet.

An indoor heated parking space is included. The room and bathroom will be unfurnished; my furnishings may be available for an additional fee.

Message me with any questions or if you’re interested!

I'm thinking of joining Epic Systems as a software developer. What tech stack do they use? The job description mentions JavaScript, TypeScript, and C#.

Current employee I’m so tired of sacrificing

My spouse has been a TS at Epic for over two years now. They are still working about 55 hours a week. It’s exhausting for the both of us. I thought that we could just sacrifice some things and make it work for the first year or two, but there are no signs of things slowing down or getting any easier. They are constantly drowning in Sherlock’s. They have been sick a couple of times this year and couldn’t take any time off to rest and heal because it would just put them even more behind and cause more stress. Now there is talk of them becoming a TL.
I don’t know what to do. But I want my spouse back.

Anonymous HR complaint?

Does Epic have something in place that allows for HR complaints to be submitted anonymously? I know some companies utilize outside companies for this.

Prospective employee Applying to pm position. Thoughts and tips?

I’m an advertising student who’s graduating in May 2027. I received a message on handshake from epic to apply for the project management position. I went to the role introduction and it seems to be a lot of IT and tech stuff, which I don’t have much experience in. Do I realistically have a chance? How can I stand out even though I don’t have the experience? Also, what do the assessments look like and is there a way I can study for them? Any tips and tricks for the app process would be super helpful. Thanks!

Prospective employee Interview Timeline?

I've only been lurking in this subreddit for a few weeks, but I have found it to be very helpful.

I applied for a TSE position two weeks ago. Last Tuesday, I received an invite to a role introduction meeting, as well as the link to take the assessments. I took the assessments last Wednesday, and I went to the role introduction last Friday.

My question is, how long does it typically take to hear back once you take the assessments? The person running the role introduction said it would take a week, at most two, but it wasn't clear as to whether it would be a week or two after taking the assessments or after attending the role introduction.

I know I'm probably overthinking this, but I've been applying for jobs for six months now, and Epic is the first one that has gotten any traction thus far. I guess I'm just a bit on edge.

Title: Stuck in Orlando job hunt: UCF MHA grad trying to break into Epic. 100s of applications, losing hope. Any advice?

Hi everyone. I'm hoping to get some outside perspective. I'm in Orlando, currently finishing my MHA , and I've been trying to break into the Epic world (analyst, trainer, any entry point). I've applied to hundreds of jobs, from receptionist to internships, all tailored with keywords. I've gotten rejections or silence. I even had a recruiter reach out for a hospital-sponsored role with training and certification, but that fell through. I know the market is tough and they want experience, but I feel like I can't get my foot in the door. I'm trying to think of a new approach. Has anyone successfully pivoted from an MHA/healthcare background into Epic without clinical experience? Are there specific jobs I should target (like an Epic trainer or Associate Analyst)? How can I connect with the Epic team at Orlando Health or AdventHealth in a way that doesn't feel like cold-applying into a void? Any concrete steps or honest feedback would be appreciated. I'm trying not to give up.

Manager & org denied Epic Self-Study/Proficiency approval. How did you break into Health IT after a flat-out "No"?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in a clinical role at a large health system and actively preparing for a transition into Health IT / Epic Analyst roles. I recently tried to request access to complete Epic Proficiency via self-study on UserWeb during my own time.

My org’s training admin initially rejected it, so I appealed directly to my manager to see if he would sign off—and he gave me a firm "no."

Since internal sponsorship for self-study is off the table:

•Has anyone else faced a hard refusal from their management team for self-study access?

•How did you build a competitive resume for an entry-level analyst position without UserWeb access?

•Did you focus on external technical skills (SQL, database fundamentals, system workflows, Excel) to land a role at an org that would sponsor your certification upon hire?

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who took the scenic route into Health IT when their current employer wouldn't support their learning path.

Prospective employee College grad going through role introductions: future internal international transfers

Hey all,

Going through the process of recruitment for Epic. While doing research on the company, one thing that excited me was the international presence.

It’s my dream to move to Australia at some point (Have been there before), and after doing many hours of research on visas, immigration, internal transfer experiences, and more on online forums and groups, and after considering my major and what is considered in-demand in Australia… The most realistic way to move over there is a career change into medicine, construction, trades, or social work. That, or an internal transfer from within a company.

So working with a company that has a large presence in both the US and Aus (And a track record for international mobility) would be huge for me.

Would it be feasible to get an internal transfer to Australia from within Epic? What roles are most suited for international transfers, how long would I have to be in the role to be considered, and how should I approach this topic while recruiting?

Thanks!

Hello, have a 1b/1ba apartment on second floor in Middleton for re-rent as of November 7. Quiet area, but close to amenities such as shopping and restaurants. 12 minute drive to Epic, not requiring highway (so great in winter) and 15 minutes to Downtown. Included 1 heated underground parking spot and washer/dryer included. Amenities are good with fitness room and pool on site.

Hey everyone! M21 starting at epic in november and super excited! I’m looking to see if anyone would be willing to room together, in ideally mill district. I don’t have a car so being reasonably near the bus line is preferred. Please PM me!! Thanks for reading

Looking for carpool options

I’m thinking of renting in Verona near Lucerne Dr (where there are multiple townhouse complexes) but due to a medical condition I can’t drive. This part of Verona is around 30 minutes walk north from the Verona and Enterprise bus stop.

If you live in this part of town- do you know of any carpool groups that go to Epic from there? I would be willing to negotiate compensation for carpools if I moved to this area.

Current skills assessment format for TS?

Hi everyone! Has anyone recently taken the skills assessment for the Technical Solutions Engineer (TS) position?

I’ve seen older posts with different experiences regarding the coding section. Does the current assessment require writing code, or does it mainly involve learning rules and applying them? If there is a separate coding section, are pseudocode or plain-English explanations accepted?

Current employee Working as clinical end-user during non-compete period

I’m interested in possibly working as a clinical end user for a customer while I pursue a higher-level clinical degree — does the non-compete prevent me from taking a job where I’ll need Epic end-user access, but not necessarily UserWeb access? Thanks!
