TLDR: Just did Day 1, had a great time! Overall very positive experience, very seriously considering going again next year. Great lineup, stages were decent, vibe was good, very few cons. **
Curious what anyone here thought of it. My wife and I had already planned a 2-week trip to South Korea and it just happened to overlap with EDC, so we gave it a try. We were set to be leaving on Sunday October 4th so we only did Day 1 (Saturday October 3rd).
We've done EDC Las Vegas from 2021 to 2025, so we felt we have a good sense of how it compares to the main event... and we were pleasantly surprised!
Pros:
--The lineup was fantastic! We saw Jessica Audiffred, Dimension, Alleycvt (favorite set!), Subtronics, Svdden Death, and DJ Snake... hell yea!
--The venue was nice. It was small enough to easily get around, and with the hill between Kinetic Field and Circuit Grounds we didn't experience any sound bleed. Plus, the hill was a nice place to sit and watch shows when we were tired or between sets. Weather was very pleasant also. And Kinetic Field looked very impressive!
--Tickets were $100 each, I think, so pretty decent.
--As I get older I like the smaller sized festivals, and this was perfect. Easy to get in/out of crowds, and could get really close to the front if desired. I also liked that this went to 3am, whereas most smaller festivals I go to in the US rarely go past midnight/1am.
--Our experience of the vibe was really great! People were nice and interacted very well with each other. Plus, with more space to move around people could really go nuts, which made everything very fun.
Cons:
--WATER. My goodness. As far as we could tell there was only ONE small tent serving water bottles for 2000won ($1.50 or so). As the night went on the line became huge... and then they ran out! Couldn't refill my hydropack by 1:15am or so. They gotta fix that shit, I ain't there to drink red bulls, beers, or mixed drinks, I need that H2O!
--I am pretty sure the main stage speakers blew sometime during Substronics... I think he mentioned it? I wasn't in the main crowd area for it, so outside the speakers were fine and you could here things as you would expect, but when I went into the crowd for DJ Snake, the sound was clearly off, to the point I took out my earbuds just to hear. Everyone was doing there best to enjoy it but clearly the sound was wrong. Harshed my vibe a bit as DJ Snake is the shit, but we ended up moving on to a different stage, which kinda sucked. Things like this happen, and apparently the sound was fine for Day 2 (from what I heard from others), but that was a drawback. Still went to see Wax Motif and Sara Landry, so it wasn't all that bad ;)
If you went, let us know what you thought!
