Hello all.
It's been about a year since TESL died, so on its deathi-verssary let's go over the current efforts to revive the game.
TESL Reborn - This is an effort to make new servers for the game, it has come along quite promisingly and is the closest thing to the original version of the game.
However a couple things:
It is PC version only, and you need to have a valid license of the game still in your steam library or on bethesda.net to play. There is no way (as of now) to get a license for the game if you did not have it prior to the shutdown on steam. You have to have owned it before the shutdown.
It is currently closed alpha. You can follow this guide (link) to apply to join the closed alpha, but it is not currently open alpha yet despite what the other post on the subreddit says. This guide is outdated, open beta out tomorrow
Some streamers (link to list) have access, so you can ask them to test different things, or watch their gameplay to help speed up the bug finding stage.
TESL Fan Browser Remakes
TESL Browser Project aka TESL Online - A remake of TESL in browser. Reddit post link - Recently updated to have all cards through the Heroes of Skyrim expansion.
TESL Github Page - A remake of TESL vs a bot or local multiplayer, playable on a github page. Direct Link made by /u/Prize-Artichoke-9807 Has cards up to Houses of Morrowind and a handful of custom cards.
TESL Singleplayer - A remake of TESL whose goal is to have the player fight against various singleplayer encounters. Direct Link, run by @FBJulezGames on this discord server.
Tabletop Simulator - There are a few mods for tabletop simulator, a simulator game on steam (link). The sim costs $20, but is usually on sale for $10. Note this doesn't simulate mechanics, but you can put cards in a deck and shuffle it but you have to manually track the gameplay yourself. Supports multiplayer.
Jamaa's Mod has all the cards and is based on this mod, which also has all the cards.
Gnarfield 360's Mod is the OG one I used to play with in TTS simulator, but it only has cards through Heroes of Skyrim.
NightDarkWolf's Mod, TESL in Svongarde - Reddit Post - has rebalanced cards, but also updates some of the existing level-up cards to have new effects.

I’m kinda stunned to be able to play this game again, I’m wondering now which hours or days people notice the most activity and can find a game
Also which game modes are most active I’ve tried “versus arena” but can’t seem to find a game, maybe my rank is too low
Or is my only chance to set up a game somehow through messages and auto matchmaking won’t be enough

Now that being said. I am running my cancerous invasion deck and none of you are safe (within the game, obviously). Tribunal Temple 4 lyfe!

First off id like to thank everyone involved with this revival. Second i need help i cant get into the game iv created my ESLreborn account and linked it with steam but when i launch it tries to load then i get an errer code.
I am on PC
ESL is still on my profile. Is it an issue the game is still installed (i couldnt bring myself to uninstall it when it went down)

Hey there,
I recently got into TES properly, literally a couple of months after the servers for Legends were shut down in fact. So I don't have a license since by the time I would've been interested, the game was already gone. But, of course, you need it to play Reborn, so... Is there any way to obtain a license anymore or am I just out of luck? Thanks. <3

I was just wondering if it was possible, and the chances of it happening. Can the original files be ripped and cracked so everyone can play? What are the legalities involved, is it not classed as share-ware now, or do the original intellectual property rights still stand.
It's going to be nice for the ones who still have the files installed, however the PvP was one of the main highlights of this game. With it being closed shop for the ones who still have what was a 'dead' install on their drives, I can't see it being many.
Hope there is a way for us who don't have original files to get back in. 🤞🏼

Hey I'm not really sure what to do or if I can play TESL reborn, could anyone provide some support?
Basically I played Elder Scrolls Legends A LOT when it was online and had an account and everything. I wanted to play TESL reborn too but I think they want me to have the original game client but I uninstalled it and it's completely gone from my PC.
Is there any way I can get it back or play anyway? Or is it over for me.
I really want to play :(

I extracted the v1.3.1-beta files from the .zip into the game's root folder and created an account on tesl-reborn.com that matches my Steam e-mail, and I still get the Error FailedConfigFetch popup. Am I missing something? Currently on Linux but had a similar experience when I tried this on Windows last year.
