The last 4 pictures was all thrifted except for llama with hats dvd got that off Etsy from filmcow own store the first two pictures are brand new purchases what you all think of my pick ups

**Just in time for the holidays 👌**

How do you guys feel on the topic of single film vs collection packages (like in image 2)? I always prefer to own each movie individually. Just curious what the general opinion is.

Although i have been wanting to get the 8-film Harry Potter set just for space saving purposes, i don’t think i could do it for consistency. The only “box sets” i have are for TV shows/Non movies

£5.40 including 7 books for the sprog.

50p per soprano box, been meaning to watch this for ages!

10p per DVD including the Skate game, and I just bought a 360 recently too so will have fun playing that!

Just started collecting Blu-ray too so I'm happy to find one I like.

Found this In Glasgow Charity Shop.

*Excluding trilogies or sets...**

I don't mean checking the Meta Critic rating, I just mean "subjectively" best 3 sitting next to each other.

I have a collection of about 700 films, and this is surprisingly tough. Usually if there's 2 good ones next to each other, then the third is one is...less than good. Lol.

I'll start:

Annie Hall, The Apartment, Apocalypse Now

(I alphabetize by skipping "The" obviously...)

What are your 3?

**Edit - Trilogies and series..es excluded! I'm curious about 3 great movies that just happen to sit alphabetically (or another random sorting system) next to each other

Finally got City of God and The Haunting!!

I will rate and list the movies I've seen throughout the marathon as I go and whether I've seen it before or 1st time watch.

1. Monster House (Seen before) 8/10

A hood classic. Still holds up.

1. Mesa of Lost Women (1st watch) 3/10

Absolute boring cheap trash of a movie. Wouldn't recommend watching it.

1. A Nightmare on Elm Street (Seen Before) 8/10

Still solid.

1. Gremlins (1st watch) 7/10

It was ok.

1. Let Sleeping Corpses Lie (Seen before) 9/10

Absolutely a banger zombie movie.

1. Nightmare on Elm Street 2: (1st watch) 6/10

This one felt pretty weak to me compared to the 1st

1. Nightmare on Elm Street 3: (1st watch) 7/10

Better than 2 but not as good as 1.

1. Nightmare on Elm Street 4: (1st watch)

2. Nightmare on Elm Street 5: (1st watch)

3. Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare: (1st watch)

4. Friday the 13th UNCUT: (Seen before) 9/10

Absolute classic.

1. Friday the 13th Part 2: (Seen before) 8/10

Still pretty solid.

1. Friday the 13th Part 3: (1st watch)

2. Friday the 13th: The Final Chaper: (1st watch)

3. Friday the 13th Part 5: A New Beginning: (1st watch)

Does anyone else like going into movies without watching a trailer or reading about them? I regularly buy movies based on tirle and cover art. Does anyone else like doing that? It seems like a lot of people only buy movies they have seen before, but do you also not see movies in theater without knowing if it's good? To me it's the same as that since it usually costs the same anyways.

Found this for $2

Hey all

I've been collecting movies and series for the past year, and in terms of series I prefer to have them in DVD over Blu Ray

Main reason is because since I also want to digitize the discs and make my own Netflix, DVDs take less space on hard drives, that alone makes me want to buy series in DVD over Blu Ray

Also helps a ton of animated shows I like are not on Blu Ray

What are your thoughts on this?

I absolutely loved watching this as a kid, the Reconstituted Corpse terrified me

Went to a couple of big thrift stores today and picked up some good stuff. Movies were 0,50€ - €1 and E.R. was 3€ per season. All disks are in great condition, got everything in this picture for 30€

Hi

I have The Simpsons Season 18 dvd and I selling it on Ebay. It's sealed and region 2. If interested send me a dm.

Thanks

Eoin

the elm street boxset is complete and the only dvd thats missing in the friday the 13th box is part 6, and since its a bit hard to see the bluray at the bottom is the matrix 4 film collection. both michael jackson DVDs still have the original seal on them which is cool too

Got these today at an estate sale. The second American Graffiti and Glen Miller are blind buys. Now I just need to find the Benny Goodman bio.

Idk what it is about it. The heartbreak, the romance, the subtle comedy between a group of interesting personalities, the odd comfort of a mostly empty supermarket at night. It's not the most exciting movie, but it's got something special about it. It's become one of those comfort movies for me.

Because of that I was willing to pay a little extra for the blu ray that's only available in region B (I'm region A and don't have a region-free player). The region label on this one though is not accurate. It'll play on Region A as well.

I'm curious if anyone else enjoys this movie as much as me enough to rewatch it maybe once or twice a year?

P.S. It's also how I discovered the band Bang Gang with their song Inside, and I'm grateful for that too.

Got all of these at Amoeba records except for Unstoppable. I got that at a different store along Hollywood Boulevard

Free from works break room 🙌🏻 all with disks still and relatively good quality

Found this at a thrift store a few months ago. This seems to be a PAL release because it didn’t work on my Blu-Ray player, which isn’t region-free. Later on, a friend gave away a DVD player that he wasn’t using, which is region-free as I saw NTSC/PAL on the back of the box.

I recently watched it and enjoyed it. It’s a 13 minute short film from Germany from TrickStudio.

They do a page on the website, which also includes the short: https://www.trickstudio.de/en/work/post/

Now the question is, where did the DVD come from? I’m quite curious to where the original owner found it from. I couldn’t find a source of the whereabouts of the DVD release. All I know is that it’s PAL region even if it doesn’t say so on the box and it’s a DVD-R since it’s blue on the back of the disc.

Still, it’s a very nice obscure find and goes nicely with my region-free DVD player. Thanks, friend.
