Cam/Video I knew Anika Niles was incredible, but she is a goddamn monster live.

He's most well known for his work in Paramore, HalfNoise and solo projects. I was relistening to early Paramore albums the other day and was impressed by the drumming work. Imagine learning that Zac was 13-14 years old when recording the drums for their debut! Crazy talented. He's one of the reasons I decided to pick up the instrument in the first place. What are your thoughts on him as a drummer/musician?

Mine is A Thousand Miles by Vanessa Carlton.
Abe Laboriel Jr. is the drummer on the studio track and it’s a super fun jam to play. It’s not typically what I listen to, but good drumming knows no bounds.
Looking forward to all y’all’s responses!

Not flawless, but definitely one of my best takes! Sorry about the quiet kick drum

I can’t stand rubber cymbals anymore on my e-kit! So I get low volume cymbals from Temu for 50€… They even came with a carry bag !
For live gigs I’m gonna use overhead mics to capture them and send them through the PA.
I already have a pair of Zildjian L80 hats.
For the video I put them on my acoustic kit to test them.
For 50€, it’s just perfect! I just need now to find a good low volume china to ditch the last rubber cymbal.
If you have some products to recommend, let me know !

I can do the stuff shown in the video with my right foot, but only because I keep my balance with my left foot on the ground. For my pedals to support my leg weight I would need to crank the spring tension all the way up and that isn't correct. Any tips?

Need your expertise! Been drumming for just over a year. Almost every day. Love it! Neil Peart is my drum god, so I’ve vowed to not tread on hallowed ground until I feel worthy. I’ve learned to play along to maybe 100 or so of my favorite songs, but I refuse to touch Rush until I’m good enough to honor Neil. MY QUESTION: Is there ONE Rush song you’d recommend where a noob could begin without being intimidated or frustrated? Something not too complex that can hopefully give me the confidence to step through that door and expand my playlist — and honor The Professor? tia! 🥁 🫶🏼 🤘🏼

My toddler is almost 2 1/2 and he loves playing on the drums, I drum a lot so he's been around it since he was born. We cobbled together this toddler friendly set up from spare drum stuff I had laying in the garage and he loves it. Sorry for the crappy editing, I'm rather inept but it does the trick.

Earlier in the year my father in law passed away and we and in the throes of managing his estate, he was a very talented musician and amassed quite the collection of drums, amongst a huge collection other music related things, that we are currently trying to establish what to do with.
He was very much a fan of sonor drums, so far we've found what we think is three separate sonor drum kits, one is a light coloured wood like a typical beech finish sonor kit and a similar kit in a darker wood, there's drums marked s-class and the main set is a sonor signature horst link kit in what I think is bubinga, comprising of a bass drum, a floor tom, two suspended toms and two 14" snare drums, that are slightly different, there's also an unused pink glitter finish sonor delite tom, and a Tama Louie bellson signature snare (not pictured) that looks very lightly used,
There's also approximately 30 cymbals of various brands styles and condition, some new and some completely knackered by the look of it can anyone of any insight to this, wether or not it's desirable, how much we should expect to get from it?

Not even a year after buying the bag and the stutching completely fell apart. Anyone else had this issue?

I have an issue with my right arm when playing (after some time)...
First the input: I play open handed, lefty, but hi-hat is on the left, ride is on the right, basically drum is setup „traditionally“ with hi-hat lowered. I use moller technique when accenting, whip motion where stick is the whip. The stick is held sometimes, alot of times, between index and thumb but it does travel between index and middle finger.
The problem i have, I must stress, never happens at the beginning or mid of playing it most exclusively happens late into play when i consider myself to be fatigued.
When doing quick classice roll over toms and then lifting right arm „mollerly“ to hit crash i feel sudden pins and needles feeling along the line that follows some imaginary tendon(s?) from thumb to the forearm. Sensation is located in the lower part of forearm more closer to wrist. This fast transition form lower height to higher (floor tom to crash) whit whipping motion is what is problematic.
After i sense this i back down, simple down fills (if live) or just call it a day when rehearsing but the fear to me is this feels like pulling on some tendon and I'm affraid to snap it.
Anyone else getting this, any advice on what could be the case / fix.

Hi drummers,
I love learning from books instead of videos. I want to get into double bass a bit, so what's the best book you've used to learn it? Either a songbook, theory book or solos.
Tia!

It has a very weird textured finish, I can’t find it anywhere no matter how hard I look. Help!
