The results are in and Moonfish has taken the polls skyward and wins Catch of the Day: Open Oceans!

Thank you to everyone who voted this week. We'll be doing a quick detour to return to The Marrows to allow us to include a few DLC stragglers that missed the first edition next time!

Below (2026) definitely gave me Dredge vibes! Pretty decent mini series!

So, (without giving any spoilers) the first episode I was like, "This is a combo of Dredge, The Thing, and a made-for-TV-movie. I was thinking, of course, Hollywood is jumping on the horror fishing bandwagon without giving some love to our beloved Dredge. But, it was fun, campy at times, and had a neat story.

Why is all her stuff big? (Julie was a giant?)

All the normal treasure is small comparatively. It's only the story treasure that's oversized in the cargo squares area. Was she twice as big as normal girls? They also all have purple background like the aberrations. I think there's something off about why they are all big and purple and maybe this is obvious to some or outta left field for other but I think Julie is sus. She's writing letters to people when she's supposed to dead too. Like I get a lot of people will say it's supposed to be a spooky reveal that she's dead but umm what if she's not? What if she's the Deep One?! Or part of him, or a disciple, but something connected to the big guy that is not human but shaped like one. That's why her stuff is all oversized and has that purple background associated with aberrations. That's why she can write letters from under the water. That's why she comes up along with the big dude. It was the plan all along bc he needed her to go seduce a fisherman (it just occurred to me that one missing maritime legend we haven't seen in Dredge is sirens and mermaids so I will be ending this post here and doing research for pt 2)

And that's why I'm not crazy you're crazy! [eyes bulging and twitching uncontrollably]

Help with a quest in dredge!

I just bought the 3 dlcs for dredge and is wondering how I get one of the fish for the scientists on the rig. I got the sea cucumber, the fish with the long nose and the fish that’s takes up 3 slots, how do you get that last bigger costal fish?
I’ve been to all of the oil spills and not one has shown up, is it a night time fish? I can’t seem to find it in the book either. Maybe I didn’t look in the right spots tho

Switch 2 and 60fps without dev kit possibility

I seen posts talking about the devs not having a SW2 dev-kit to make an upgrade version. As some people said "it play nice on switch 1 version" and its not, 30 fps on this game feels terrible. I seen that the game runs on 60 fps at base switch using a homebrew called fpslocker and a patch inside that, the game runs without any issues on a much lower powerful hardware. So if some random people can make the game run unofficial with few tweaks, why not the devs release a patch atleast to uncap the framerate to 60. Then they can do a proper switch 2 version with 4k res and all the rest when the dev kit arrives, but i'm always looking to buy the game and never complete the purchase because the demo running at 30 its TERRIBLE, feels like a power point when doing mini games and the input lag its insane. Graphics looks ok on handheld mode with boost but fps and input lag are blocking me to buy this game on switch 2

Discussion how much should i be investing in these?

Post image
56 Upvotes

i dont imagine things like trawl catch rate or fishing/dredging speed are that impactful, but the two movement upgrades (+25% turn speed and +35% reverse speed) seem kind of useful, and the heat sink specifically seems like it would be very good (not entirely sure what exactly it does, but i assume more heat from using haste before your engines blow up)

do they stack? is there any reason to have more than one?

Playing Dredge with my void Captain and my Blahaj.

I’m finishing up the Iron Rig DLC and completing the encyclopedia, so big spoilers just a heads up.

This game is definitely in my top 10 favorite games right now. I want to get tattoos of some of the aberrations. Maybe get some of the symbols too. All of y’all with Dredge tattoos: I’m totally not jealous at all, and they certainly aren’t really cool and badass……

Discussion A Research about Cozy Horror Games

Hello everyone!!

We’re doing some research on the cozy horror genre for our blending-the-genres presentation. We wanted the horror gamers' opinions on this. So we prepared a couple of questions for y'all. We really hope y'all will genuinely answer these questions. If you have anything to add besides the questions, it would also be great! (ex. article recommendations, any ideas, etc.)

1- Why do you like cozy horror games? What makes them appealing to you?

2- Why do you find these kinds of horror games “cozy”?

3- What do you think about the community of the cozy horror genre?

4- Do you find a piece of yourself in these games? Do you bond/have a connection with the characters?

5- Do you think these kinds of games help with traumas and problems? If so, how?

Thanks for all your help and contributions! <3
