The Veins of Doria
Until now, the nation has only lightly experimented with the idea of highways and major intranational motorized throughways. Roads of this nature were first protolyped in the Capital, obviously, starting in 1913 when the construction of the Automobilistic Training Track, or ATT, began but it was not completed until 1921. At just over 10km long, this controlled-access road was used as a racetrack and to test vehicles and roadsurfaces, but nothing more. However, ATT did inspire later developments throughout the later 20s and early 30s as small intercity projects organized by local planners and mayors sought to build similar roads for vehicular transit between cities like Kreis-Blaen and Kand’Rhael or Achilon and Bellerrimo. Contemporaneously, ATT also inspired corporations to build new motorized roads linking more and more urban centres, with most of these projects that didn't rot away during our stagnation or because of the Unification Wars finally being completed and showcasing operational efficacy and widespread popularity within the last few years.
Building on these past and recent successes, we must now take this plan nation-wide, and perhaps across the Western Hemisphere as well once all major population centers within Doria proper are linked, swiftly and carefully erecting a transportation and logistical network on a scale never before seen, useful for not just our military but for civilian transit and the flow of commerce as well, connecting the Republic with concrete and steel while tightening our behemothian hegemony over the continent in the process.
I shall dispose for legislation to empower the Interior in the construction of such public works projects.
