šŸ––Delivery War Stories 🫔 McDonald’s employees are idiots

I go to pick an order up and this Old lady I see every day for the past year or more wont Hand me the order. I tell her I have to scan the reciept. She says she has to see me confirm. I tell her again I have to scan it. so I reach my phone over and scan it while she’s holding it. It auto completes the pick up. I try to take the bag, she’s still holding it and says I need to see you hit pick up. I tell her it’s already picked up. She still refuses to let go. I just had to leave man.

its literally NOT a requirement to show us hitting pick up or anything on our phone. DD support confirmed this and gave me half pay. I’ll keep showing my phone to the idiots to save time, but I’m not arguing with any one of these idiot store workers. if they act retarded I’m just leaving and canceling the order.

i really want to punch people

šŸ––Delivery War Stories 🫔 You guys were completely wrong and totally gatekeeping.

6 months ago I quit my corporate job to DoorDash full time. Y’all said it was the honeymoon phase and I’d soon get fucked with low orders from DoorDash and I was just getting the good orders to get me hooked.

Fast forward 6 months and I’m making basically the same as I was at my $55k salary job. But I have so much more control and am much happier. Anyone who says you can’t make money doing this is an idiot too.

Side note ā€œBuT aLL tHe WeAr and tEaR on YoUr CaRā€

First of all that’s a tax deduction. Second of all I was commuting 500 miles a week for 5 days in office downtown in exchange for my salary and 50 hours. With no tax benefit.

I’m chillin tbh.

ā”Driver Question šŸ¤” What would it take to get you Door Dashers to stop parking in front of my business?

Hi, we just opened a business in a strip mall between a Chipotle and a pizza place that both do huge Door Dash numbers. We all share the parking lot and there's a fire lane that runs along the front of all our businesses, with plenty of NO PARKING signs. Door Dashers are literally leaving their car right in front of our door. Today during a lunch rush, one sat there for over 20 minutes. I've told the land lord, informed the managers and now I'm considering politely asking each driver to refrain from parking there.

Just curious, from your perspectives, what would get you to stop parking there. I understand time is money and I respect the hustle. Not going to call police or fire marshalls, but definitely need advice on how to figure this out.

ā”Driver Question šŸ¤” Question for Milwaukee drivers?

Coming up to see widespread panic next weekend. I usually do DoorDash during the day to cover the cost of going to the shows. Not real familiar with Milwaukee. Anyone want to recommend a good part of town or suburbs to work in if you were planning on delivering on an ebike? Someplace with hotels and plenty of merchants in a condensed area. I was planning on finding someplace near the airport unless someone has a better idea they want to suggest? I got a car as well I just prefer the ebike weather permitting.

šŸ’°Earnings šŸ¤‘ Home Depot Pick Up Truck Rental - Dashing

So I made the decision to rent a pick up truck for $119 for 24 hours with unlimited mileage. My car is in the shop so I wouldn’t be able to use it. It was either U-Haul or Home Depot and I chose Home Depot due to fact I wouldn’t have to worry about mileage. I live in a GREAT market (Cleveland Area) specifically Westlake to earn money. I plan to pick it up at 2:30pm today and work til midnight. Tomorrow I plan on working from 7am to 2pm before I have to return the vehicle at 230pm. I can definitely earn $400-$500+ in that span so I definitely think it’s worth it. I am also a Platinum Tier dasher so that’s a huge plus with the orders I receive. Obviously if you live in a bad or small market it is not worth it at all. Has anyone ever done this?

šŸ’°Earnings šŸ¤‘ Cherry picking paid off in a big way

Yesterday, I was offered a hilarious dash of $2.00 to go 8 miles to deliver a pizza. I declined, of course. Then, the very next offer was a high priority gold status offer for $38 to go to 2 restaurants and deliver both to 1 house, 6.5 miles with both restaurants on the way. I accepted so fast I about broke my finger. Haha. Just see what I woulda missed out on if I hadn't been cherry picking.

🤬DoorDash Support Issues😩 Feedback visibility

Why we can’t we as drivers see the order we got a thumbs down on. I recently got a thumbs down feedback for communication and one for order handling. We have no way to dispute this. Pisses me off.

🤬Rant about DD🄵 Normalize these standards

Add the following four lines to your cell phone's clipboard. Use after every delivery as negative feedback.

$2 per pickup.
$1.50 per mile.
$2 per mile after 5 miles.
$7 minimum.

This should be the baseline, not an average. It is the responsibility of the service provider (Doordash) to ensure these rates when the customer's tip isn't sufficient. It doesn't matter if you're delivering an $8 coffee or $200 worth of Chinese Food. You're not here to do deliveries for free.

🤬App Issues 😩 Title: DoorDash Canada — Does Anyone Still Have the Shop & Pay Opt-In/Opt-Out Option in Preferences?

Hi everyone,

I’m a Dasher in Canada, and I have a question for other Canadian Dashers.
Does anyone in Canada still see the Shop & Deliver / Shop & Pay opt-in or opt-out option in the Preferences section of the Dasher app?
I accidentally opted out of Shop & Pay, and now I can’t find any option in my app to opt back in. I’ve contacted DoorDash support multiple times, but they haven’t been able to resolve this issue.
I want to know if this option is still available in other Canadian cities or if DoorDash has removed it from the app.
If you’re a Dasher in Canada, please let me know:
Which city or province are you dashing in?
Can you still see the Shop & Pay opt-in/opt-out option in your Preferences?
If you opted out before, were you able to opt back in?
If you tell me which city you can see this option in, I’ll try switching my Dasher app to that city to check whether the option appears for me too.
Any suggestions or recent experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

ā”Driver Question šŸ¤” Base Pay Mess Up?

Thumbnail

Is this happening to anyone else? First three screen shots are from Wednesday, I took 9 orders all with a base pay of $2.80. None of them were the same distance, all varying from 2 miles to 10. Today, Thursday, I took three orders, and realized all had a base pay of $3.90. One was 5 miles and the other two were actually a double order, crumbl was 7 miles away from me, the Indian restaurant was 2.5 more miles further than that. I have contacted support about this because I think it’s weird. Wednesday I chatted with support and they were super unhelpful, basically just told me to check and see if it happens again the next time I dash and that was it. Well since it happened again today I contacted them again and they said that bass pay is based off of distance, time, how many dashers are in the area, and how many dashers the order has already been offered to who declined it.

I just think it’s really weird that the base pays were the same on both of these days and was wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

ā”Driver Question šŸ¤” Shop and Deliver Tips

I know in the past hidden tips on shop and deliver offers weren’t really a thing. Is that still the case or are people seeing them now? Wondering because the quality of my shop and deliver offers has gone in the garbage the past month or 2

Joke/Memes🄸 Dasherphobia

Dasherphobia is the funniest thing to me. I swear if it says leave at the door, you’ll never see a sign of these people. In weird driveways I’ll be doing a 19 point turn in someone’s driveway while their burger is getting cold but you know they’re not gonna open the door till I’m out of sight.

ā”Driver Question šŸ¤” What car insurance do you use for DoorDash/Uber Eats delivery driving?

I'm in California and currently shopping around for full coverage car insurance that also covers food delivery driving (DoorDash/Uber Eats).

I've noticed that some insurance companies won't cover delivery driving at all, even if it's only part-time.

For those of you who deliver, what insurance company do you use? Do they offer delivery coverage, and how much extra does it cost?

I'm also curious about people who don't have delivery coverage. What happens if you get into an accident while delivering? Does your regular insurance deny the claim? Has anyone actually experienced this?

Just trying to figure out what everyone is doing and what my options are before choosing a policy.

🤬Rant about DD🄵 Well doordash is officially dead in my market now

The only thing preventing more drivers from coming on and taking orders was the zone not being busy and having to schedule, now that anyone can dash 24/7, there's no point of scheduling anymore.

Wait times for offers went from 5 to 15 minutes to an hour or more, like yes in a saturated market already starving for orders, what we needed was more drivers to be able to dash anytime.

It’s horribly loud now and is way more annoying. Especially during the dinner rush, it’s excruciating on the ears.

Maybe it’s just me…

🤬Rant about DD🄵 I hate this stupid company.

I delivered an order recently only for the customer to tell me there was no option to leave a tip after. I went to my cash app hoping they wouldn't mind sending me the tip directly. But there's 0 way for you to get back into a past chat. I contacted DD support and they were absolutely 0 help at all. I get garbage 2 and 3 dollar orders ALL DAY. And then when someone is kind enough to leave a tip. They can't? Garbage company. I genuinely need that money 😭😭
