Hey, everyone. I got back to "Digimon Knighthood", in a way. I decided to write a future scene, ahead of the current chapter I'm up to, both to get to writing again and because this is a moment I am very much looking forward to releasing in a published chapter. So, I'll be sharing it here. Let's get to it!
"On Araragi’s arm, her own Digivice lit up, the shine becoming blinking like a strobe light. The redhead’s ruby eyes shone as she felt the same vigor as her partner earlier. She quietly whispered, “No way.” The hornhead turned to her friend, carrying a knowing smile. “Miuna…are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
“Four-eyes”’ eyes narrowed, her purple orbs shining with newfound strength. “Ready, partner?”
The knight pulled Arondight from his back, displaying it with a flourish. “Ready.”
Closing her fist, Miuna ran her fingers along the length of her Digivice’s key.
“Synchronization advance recognized. Evolution conditions met.”
A massive pillar of blue light erupted from where Miuna and Caliburmon stood. The knight leapt skyward, the pillar condensing into a blue energy sphere around him. “Caliburmon - Digivolve to…!”
Everyone’s eyes became wide in shock. None were more shocked than Reiri. “Unbelievable…”
From the blue sphere, the dragon’s limbs, tail, scarves, swords, and head came free, the blue light closing into him as his new form emerged.
“...DualCaliburmon!”
Dropping onto the earth, the Strata Rookie Overseer was much different compared to before. His height now matched that of CruiserBandimon’s, with muscle to match, the crowning glory being defined pectorals upon his chest, tight beneath his full-body armor. Brilliant blue jewels were embedded on his elbows and knees, and two golden horns were affixed on the sides of his neck. Finally, his scarf and sword had doubled, each becoming two.
Shock and awe pervaded the cavern in equal measure. The spider in the room felt all the hairs and petals on her form stand on end. “The 88th Rookie Overseer…has Digivolved?” Drimogemon softly whispered, “He’s as big as I am now.” Machmon began sweating profusely, taking a nervous gulp. “And I thought he was scary earlier.”
Yasuko quickly blinked her eyes, rubbing over her hands quickly to regain herself. “And to think, we were scared of Devidramon.” Kigyoku briefly rubbed her eyes and cleaned her glasses, staring quizzically at her now-enlarged friend. “This is the one we let into my family’s confectionery? Imagine what kind of appetite he’ll have now!”
Araragi laughed softly at her friend’s surprise. “Not to worry, Kigyoku. It’s only temporary, and I doubt he’ll want to mess up your family’s shop.” Bandimon snickered giddily. “Not to mention…” The bandicoot banged his armored fists together, his gloves glowing tremendously. “I think I can stop him before he gets that far.”
Miuna herself simply stared up at her partner, her mind racing through possibilities. “Unreal. I mean…back when we first bonded powers, I could see him a little, but…wow…” The now-Strata Champion turned his giant blue eye down to his partner. He gave a big smile, saying with a newly deepened voice, “What’s wrong, Young Miuna? Is seeing me no longer tiny so awe-inspiring?”
“Young Miuna” simply tilted her head. “I…I guess we’re gonna need a lot more oyakodon.” Miuna slowly strode forward, reaching for the jewel on her grown partner’s leg. She observed her reflection in it. “If my mom were here right now, and she could hear your stomach like this…” The Champion chortled heartily. “Come now. No need to give Nozomi a heart attack, right?”
Looking into her partner’s eyes, Miuna felt her worry melt away. “How’s the new body feel, Cali…I mean, DualCaliburmon?” Hooking his swords onto his back, DualCaliburmon took a knee, gently pulling Miuna closer with a massive claw as he gave a soft smile. “It feels incredible. Thank you, Young Miuna.”"
