Yeah, the League decided around a year ago (?) that the number of preseason games would decrease from 6 to 4 games, and that the 82 regular season game schedule, would increase to 84 games.

It actually meant that this new season officially began this September.

The change was to allow 4 games each vs divisional opponents.

I don’t consider any team easy considering I’ve suffered the horrors of Devils hockey in recent years, but they took care of business against a team that they should in the Canucks and now this is a bigger test tonight against a better team. Hopefully the power play continues to click but I’m also really looking for some 5 v 5 goals. We’ve still got guys looking for the 1st of the season. Hopefully tonight is the night for a few of them.

I built an app to help me track upcoming records, so tonight I'll be watching out for:

• Nico's 202nd goal, tying Zajac and Holik for 3rd most goals as a Devil
• Jack's 170th goal, tying Verbeek for 9th most goals as a Devil
• Lambo's first goal
• Mantha and ERod's first points as Devils
• Bratt's 350th assist

If Daws can get a W here he'll be .500 for his career, playing behind some historically-bad (defensively) Devils defenses. I really hope he catches some luck, since that cool demeanor I always cherished about him seems to have become frustrated.
