Should we choose politicians by lottery? - Jeremy Lent
existentialhope.comPodcast with Jeremy Lent, tech CEO turned author, about the idea behind his new book Ecocivilization: how we can redesign our economy, democracy and technology so everyone can thrive.
Covers:
- Why, despite the many problems of our civilization, saying it’s “malfunctioning” isn’t accurate
- Why typical metrics of progress like GDP don’t provide a full picture of how people are actually doing
- How we can design a better society for everyone taking inspiration from how ecosystems work
- Ideas to improve our democratic systems, with real world examples
- How we could distribute wealth more widely, from ownership of companies to the benefits of AI

Read Before It’s Too Late
x.comThis is the inevitable outcome.
I firmly believe individuals should have compassion and help in the community and be more active but that shouldn’t be government policy.
We’ve been groomed to believe we should vote for our government to be a socially active moral institution. In reality that’s a completely subjective concept, the concept of morality varies from group to group culture to culture. Designing policies around this concept leads to the situation like this man is describing in France.

Time to wake up and vote!
Here is the text ready to copy:
Citizens of the United States of America: It is time to defend our national legacy and stand directly against a corrupt government that is actively destroying everything this country represents.
Take immediate, collective action now:
Demand Accountability for Treason: Mobilize to hold top leadership legally accountable for betraying the public trust and violating their oaths to the U.S. Constitution.
Launch a Mass Corporate Boycott: Stop spending money with the mega-corporations fueling this system. Immediately cut off all consumer support for Amazon, Google, Starlink, Tesla, Home Depot, Bank of America, and Walmart.
Vote Out Corrupt Officials: Organize your community to aggressively target and remove compromised politicians in every upcoming local, state, and federal election.
Exercise Your Civic Power: Flood the offices of your elected representatives with direct demands, and participate in organized, peaceful protests to make our collective voice impossible to ignore.
If you would like to move forward with organizing these efforts, I can provide the direct contact details for your specific state representatives or look up local voter registration deadlines. Which would you like to explore first?
