Native Console
Just released publicly. Static recompilation hub for gameboy, gameboy advance, DS, N64, NES, SNES, GameCube, and Wii with more to come. Shout out to arcanite24 the holder of the gb-recompiled repository that inspired this. The hub allows recompilation of games to be played as exe's to be added to steam and allows exporting to other devices for playing like SteamOS and MacOS but only for Gameboy at the moment. (We don't support piracy use your own rom dumps and keys). Currently only a Windows release is built working on MacOS and Linux next.

I figured stuff like this was coming. Instead of ports with enhancements like widescreen or higher framerates, we get ports of games that can easily be emulated on an actual smart toaster with more effort and less features than just emulating. Like whats the point?

Provavelmente fazer um framework unificado vai facilitar adicionar melhorias em todos os jogos, e reaproveitá-las quando forem similares, é uma forma de unificar o formato das recomps e suas melhorias.

Who said instead of? Both projects can happen at the same time

It's becoming a sea of garbage to dig through looking for diamonds. I'm getting exhausted trying to find ports that actually run, and have literally any worthwhile features. I wouldn't be complaining if it was a sea of gold, but it's not.

I dunno where you're finding all these ports that don't run, everything I've tried has worked great and a million times better than emulation. Most people on this sub have similar experiences. They're not flawless, but they're mostly 1.0 releases. The scene has just started, and you're complaining that not everything is perfect from the get go.

There was two factors there. For every miracle like god of war 3, theres a mess like ninja gaiden 2 and forza horizon, or a straight 1 to 1 port that serves no purpose. Theres no future where 90% of these are ever going to be worked on, even with ai. If you arent encountering the ones with issues, you arent trying very many.

So? Just because one project exists that isn’t perfect doesn’t preclude others from trying. There are literally 2 different FH1 recomp projects, one that targets windows exclusively and another that is primarily for Linux. If neither satisfies you give it a try yourself. Just grumbling about free work others are doing is just so entitled and lame.

Clearly you dont intend to listen. I am testing it myself. Everything. And there's SO MUCH of it. Im tired of booting up a game and getting fps lower than emulation. Bugs that were fixed in emulators 2 years ago. Ports that dont add anything over emulation weve had for decades. Ports with screeching audio. Its like the early days of an emulator, but worse. Even like you said, theres 2 versions of FH now. Is one better than the other? Are they both bad? Are they both good? What does one have over the other? I celebrate when I find the gems, but its time consuming going through dozens and dozens of bad or basic ports. Im not complaining because I hate it, but because Im excited, but Im also exhausted.

Perhaps you should slow down then, mate. If you're getting overwhelmed, maybe stick to non ai assisted decomps (like say sm64coopdx) for now. The well established devs have higher quality standards for releases, so they should work well for you.
The scene has only just begun, it'll take some time to mature. Right now just the ability to recomp games is such a novelty, eventually it won't be and only the high quality releases will survive and continue being maintained.
Hope you find something to keep you excited rather than exhausted!

Thats a fair point. Thats kind of what I miss. Pre AI there was a lot of high quality with a bit of low quality. AI coding has lead to wide as an ocean, deep as a puddle. I just want some level of quality control. Also, I tried going no AI initially, and that leads to its own stess of trying to find out what is or isnt AI. Lots of people like to hide it.

I think the biggest gain is latency. Emulation always introduces a bit of lag compared to the real hardware so this should eliminate it

Just looking at the files I see a lot of obsolete garbage left behind by the AI and ai iterations/fixes. And all of that is still in your main branch. I wouldn't touch this project with a stick

i can see how this would be useful but at the same time i can't really see
