Yeah I agree. I always feel like a dork when I rock this cause I feel like I'm cosplaying 50s hepcat-greaser but this is a great archive of photos.

Love it. Also the biker jacket with a floral or baby doll dress and Dr Marten boots.

I love that pin upy style that I used to see in magazines as a kid but I never see real people dressed that way very rarely do you ever see bumper bangs or anything like that anymore. I think the last gasp of it was Amy winehouse. Everything just got cheaper in the past 20 years now if you were a nice pair of pants and a button-up shirt that doesn't have a logo on it people think you're dressing up. The bar is in hell

There was something timeless about that combination. It was more than just clothing.
For me, it expressed a sense of being comfortable with who I am, confident in my own identity, and not needing to impress anyone.

This is still a normal outfit and has been for decades. A lot of fashion just depends on where you live now rather than the decade.

Once got into a crowded apartment elevator at 8pm on a rainy Friday in Vancouver. Six occupants, every single one wearing some version of black leather jacket and blue jeans.

Huh.
Shoulda been around in the mid-50s. Along with the rumbling Chevy hotrods, you got switchblades and the stink of Brylcreem.

I had both in the late 80s. I think I looked ridiculous. It didn't work on everyone, lol.

When I was a kid this was the stereotypical outfit for bullies and all around assholes. You know how they took a hot girl and gave her glasses to make her a nerd? They gave a guy a leather jacket to make him a bad boy.

I hate the oversized jackets, the fit of the jeans of that time, and the faded/ripped look. Dark and straight leg or boot cut with a proper sized jacket is a great look in imo.

This was my look as a teen in the late 00’s lol. Was a big fan of 80’s pop culture

Doesn't happen so much anymore.
