- Some loading and menu screens are too bright

Everyone complaining about long queues and crashes… the DLC literally released two hours ago, everyone is rushing to play the new hot thing. The devs did play tests with only a few people, having hundreds of people trying to play at once is going to stress the servers. Same thing happened with Sakhal, same thing happened with Livonia when it was no longer a paid DLC. Give it a while for things to calm down. Quitcha Bitchin. This happened with every game on launch day. Go watch some streams while you wait in the queue.

What Awaits You in DayZ Badlands?
The crown jewel of the DayZ Badlands expansion is Nasdara, a brand-new map built specifically for DayZ. Spanning a massive 267 km², it’s the largest terrain we’ve ever worked on for DayZ. From jagged mountains to sprawling desert plains, this beautiful, war-torn landscape holds large evacuation zones, abandoned oil fields, and crumbling military bases, each telling stories of a troubled past. Secrets, loot, and adventures await those willing to risk their lives. Following autumn in Chernarus, summer in Livonia, and winter in Sakhal, Nasdara’s arid spring now completes DayZ’s cycle of seasons.
Danger is always in the air in Nasdara, from overexposure to the ever-present sun to gusts of wind that can build into large sandstorms. Proper gear is essential to manage the new medical threats: heatstroke and silicosis. The region’s scarcity of water will make these threats all the more difficult to manage. You’ll need it not only to stay hydrated, but also to cool down and rinse sand from your eyes after getting caught in a sandstorm.
Shelter is crucial, whether you find shade beneath palm trees or rebuild a base from rubble. Nearly 5,000 rebuildable structures are scattered across the land, and they’re not just houses. You’ll also find wells and irrigation tunnels, opening up new gameplay opportunities for both PvP and collaboration. Rebuild a well with a stranger for the benefit of the server, or create sweaty bases with secret entrances.
If you’re less of a settler and more of a wandering soul, the new motorbikes will help you cover more ground! We’re excited to finally bring them to DayZ, along with ragdoll physics for motorbike crashes. We’ve updated our animation systems to support the complexity of the motorbike feature, and we believe our modding community will benefit from these changes too.
The bikes will also come in handy for a new, dynamic way to find loot: Morse code gameplay. Keep your personal radio close; transmissions carry coordinates and access codes to urban bunkers scattered across the land. Decode the messages, find the entrances, and claim your rewards.
The mantra “Loot is life” is truer than ever in DayZ Badlands. Adapt with new face wraps, dust goggles, lightweight clothing, and desert camouflage. Arm yourself with weapons ranging from the classic Lee-Enfield to modern SCR firearms. Sustain yourself with local food and snacks or resort to hunting the region’s wildlife. You’ll encounter mouflons, desert monitors, and territorial dogs that guard their former owners’ grounds alongside the infected.
What’s Next?
We’ve worked hard to optimize Nasdara across all platforms, and those efforts won’t end at release. We’ll continue monitoring performance and refining DayZ Badlands, DayZ Frostline, and the base game terrains, guided by the data we collect and the feedback you share.
We are aiming to release the first 1.30 patch for Steam on experimental tomorrow. This will focus on addressing issues that affect modders on Steam. The stable patch on all platforms will follow at a later date. We will also be supporting seasonal events on select terrains in the coming months.

Discussion Nasdara, now that its out... Is it worth?

To some of you 25$ is nothing. To some of us its money that could be used for something else. Now that nasdara is out how are you feeling about it? We got to see content creators playing it for a bit as well. I still dont know how I feel. I dont want to hear about server crashes or que times. It'll be high pop right now so outside of that... Does it feel empty? Is there enough to keep you engage for the next year or two? I dont think there is a Livonia or sakhal style mission is there? I dont want to buy this and end up going back to namalsk or Livonia later this week. The size of the map concerns me because it seems too big to properly fill with interesting features. Dont hate on me for asking this... I just need to appropriate its value.
Edit: I dont need financial advice. Y'all don't know how saving works. You dont know my financial situation, every dollar saved counts. I dont waste money buying 50 steam game every year every time as sale drops. Please be productive and just leave a comment telling me about your experience or something you enjoyed about nasdara. If you tell me to spend 25 just because its "only" 25 its sort of a joke to me and doesn't help. Im not poor you bums. I'm just frugal.

Discussion Anyone found a cure to the heat stroke sickness?

I tried wetting my clothes and sitting in the shade, and although my temperature is in the white I still sat under a tree for 30ish minutes with that sickness icon. I know it’s heatstroke because I’m not playing with anyone and haven’t had any water, just sodas and cans of food.
My screeen blurred once and I got the disease icon and then after I washed my face with a canteen of water until my clothes were wet and hid under a tree. Temp is white, all stats are white, still no cure.
