Tourism Need some travel advice.

My wife and I will be coming back to Cyprus in the new year. We are looking to change credit card companies before we come. Somebody told me Mastercard is the preferred credit card to use, but we've always thought visa was the go-to for European travel. In your experience, are both cards widely accepted, or should we go with one or the other?

I checked https://cycamerasystem.com.cy/ for a friend. Apparently he has quite some tickets there Should he pay or should he ignore for now? I had something in mind that even till now like 50% of tickets are unpaid. Not sure what the consequences are if any...What would you tell my friend ;)?

Question How do you keep track of MOT, road tax, insurance and car servicing in Cyprus?

Hi people, curious how other drivers in Cyprus manage all this.

Between MOT, road tax, insurance, servicing, tyres, mileage and other maintenance, there are quite a few things to remember. Do you use an app, calendar, or just keep track of everything yourself?

Interested to see how other people handle it.

Need lawyer for early rental contract exit (Nicosia)

Hi all,

I rent a flat in central Nicosia with contract until February 2027.

A pub next to my building plays loud music almost every night until 3am - I can't sleep.

I called the police many times, filed complaints on gov.cy, and emailed the municipality. My landlord also called the police. Nothing has changed.

I want to end my contract early, but there is no early exit clause. I'm a foreigner as you might have guessed and don't know my rights.

Can you recommend an English-speaking lawyer in Nicosia for a short, affordable consultation? Or has anyone been in a similar situation?

Thanks!

P.s of course I am considering direct conversation with my landlord but I want to know what my options are in case he says no.

Being made redundant after nearly 20 years. Need a consultant who can assist with an ironclad application.

Being made redundant (company is leaving Cyprus) after nearly 20 years of employment, and I need help with ensuring that I receive the correct compensation. The company is more or less broke, so I will have to rely on the redundancy fund I've paid into since day 1 of employment. The problem is that I was employed by a subsidiary in the same group for the first 9 years and then moved into the holding company from year 10 onwards, after that subsidiary was sold off. I have proof (old shareholder certs, etc.) showing the relationship between the two companies. I just need to file this correctly, as the difference in compensation can be 23 weeks or 52 weeks of salary, depending on how strong a case I have. I'll be happy to retain a specialist to get this right. Thanks!

Real Estate Fake Listings

Three times on my quest to rent a house in Limassol (I've been monitoring the market for 4 months daily) a house has been listed and I call and it's been rented on the same day.

I've heard they list fake listings to acquire clients and lead them to other properties.

Is this true?
