Gooood morning night city! I return to you once more with scandalously low prices after spending all of my money unironically on fabric and materials for the Edgerunners Rebeca cosplay I’m working on for east European comicon’s cosplay competition lol. And somehow I still have so much more stuff to buy for it, not to mention that I need that scratch for when we order takeout at the cyberpunk table too lol. So, since no corpo wants to buy my soul (the job market is trash) I offer it to my fellow mercs.
Sorry for the ramble, COMMISSION FORUM HERE! Please let me know if you’re interested/if you ordered anything in the comments here so I don’t miss it. Also, COMMISSION TOS HERE if anyone wants to give it a look.

My friends and I were about to run a cyberpunk campaign, and I wanted something more immersive than a folder of location notes. So I built an interactive map where players could create and share notes live.
Then I had a thought: what if this were hosted, and my friends could just join via a URL? One thing led to another, and a few weeks of work later, here's City_Net.
It's fully self-hosted (Docker or manual), no third-party accounts, no subscriptions. You run it, you share a link, and your players connect.
What it does:
Generate a living city — procedural districts, roads, and traffic
Draw your own — custom roads, water, districts, and buildings, saved for later
Multiple city maps — save, load, and switch between entire cities instantly
Simultaneous battle map play — drop battle maps into any building and run multiple at once, loaded from local files or existing uploads, per-map measurement scaling
Persistent enemies & allies — placed per map
Notes on buildings — add notes directly to any structure; players can request to add their own notes, and buildings with notes stand out
Custom signs — with full custom font and picture support
Player Banks — built-in banking system
Dice rolling — right in the app
Streamer mode — a broadcast-safe spectator view, ready in seconds
Collaborative building — grant friends access to help construct the city
Everything's real-time — everyone sees changes live.
Happy to answer any questions and get some feedback!
EDIT:
By popular demand, I have added install scripts for Windows, Mac, and Linux
Please take the warning to heart!! NEVER RUN SCRIPTS FROM AN UNTRUSTED SOURCE
EDIT2:
CITY_NET 1.4.0: Cyberpunk Red character sheets and rule sets are out!
Also made a Discord to get feedback and answer questions

Session 9. Party consists of an anti-corp media who used to be a former corp kid, a tech, a medtech, and a solo. Job was to steal a shipment of excellent quality agents from the port of night city. They klepped the van with the shipment and ended up being pursued by a helicopter (another corp was also trying to klep the agents). The media is in the drivers seat, hits an emergency stop and the medtech pops a smoke to obscure the vehicle with plans to turn into an alley on the next turn.
The chopper strafed them. One gunner hit an assault rifle shot into the medtech’s chest leaving him at less than half HP. The other gunner lit up the drivers seat with an autofire burst from a militech LMG….he crits to hit and ends up with a 21 vs a DV18 after the -4 from smoke…then rolls double 6’s on the damage. 30+ damage with a collapsed lung critical injury. LMG rounds light up the cab and the media’s insides go outside all over the dash and the drivers seat. All the party members attempted to stabilize him, but failed due to being wounded themselves. The medtech had an extra speedheal, but the media had already used a speedheal from another gig earlier the same day (i gave them the option between one or the other, and they risked it and tried to tackle both in one day). He bleeds out within 10 seconds all over the inside of the van and dies on the spot.
this character was by far the most narratively involved one and he had big plans and big ideas for the future. it genuinely feels like someone real just died. the party escaped the chopper, but were shell shocked afterwards. They all took 3d6 humanity damage, leaving the solo at a whopping 1 humanity.
this game system is fucking amazing.

I want to introduce the party to one of smaller gangs, basically any gang that doesn’t appear in 2077 or the Bozos (I have plans for Bozos later), but I can’t decide on which one to focus on
Again, very early in the planning stage, nothing is set in stone. But the general gists of it is that the group of mercs is hired to nab some goods currently held by one of the big name gangs (currently planning for Malestrom), but the smaller gang beat them to the punch and grabbed the prize before they showed up

hello chooms and gonks alike, I had this idea about treating yall like fixers and have you guys come up with some gigs for my character to do.
the year is 2072 in a city in South America called Chuquicamata I've re-created into my own semi-faithful timeline of cyberpunk lore to be an abandoned city by all politicos and corpos so that the only people remaining are the locals who refused to leave and the very rare person who came and never had the chance to leave.
I plan to work my way through the gigs you guys come up with as I play, hopefully posting updates about my progress through them and if i succeed or fail to complete them.
my character's handle is Bulldog, a tech 4 solo 1 whose build is not important.
i have only a couple rules
r/cyberpunkred • u/Invenblocker • 8h ago
Core Rulebook page 342 states "When attacking with an Excellent Quality Weapon you add a +1 to your Attack Check with it."
And on page 343, the full rules on the Bayonet attachment are listed as: "When wielded, this weapon can also be used as a Light Melee Weapon. While this is attached to a weapon, it cannot be concealed under clothing."
So following this, does that mean that an Excellent Quality weapon with a Bayonet attachment will apply this +1 to melee attacks made with the weapon, or is the attack considered to be made with the Bayonet, and therefore rolled purely with DEX + Melee Weapons?
Personally, I read it as the former, since it says "the weapon can be used as a Light Melee Weapon", which means that since you use the weapon, you use the weapon's properties, but a player instead argues that you're attacking with the Bayonet, not the gun, so therefore no quality applies.

I've been moreso into D&D since I started the TTRPG hobby, but cyberpunk and shadowrun have been things I've kept my eye on for a long time.
That said, my question is about cyberpunk's lore.
Cyberpunk 2013 to Cyberpunk 2077, like, do the years mean something?
I've been interested in the game for mechanics and playing, but with edgerunners and the video game, more of the story has been getting exposure and I like it.
This has made me question if the years mean something or if it's more nebulous like "D&D Lore" which kind of just shifts to fit its current edition.
TL;DR, Is there actual lore that spans from first edition to now, is it any good, and if I wanted to learn more how could I?
Edit: It has been answered. The lore can be a little wacky with some of the editions, but overall there is a clear timeline that is "easy" to follow if you'd like to. It is not required to know all of the lore of the game to play, but it is a great way to immerse yourself into the setting and make your character feel more alive withing your game if that is important to you.
I have a lot on my to-do list as far as TTRPGs are concerned, so I'm going to take my time researching and learning about the world of cyberpunk because it's something I think I'll enjoy doing.

Let's assume 2070's.
Saburo has lived a hundred and fifty years due to bioengineering, mostly. But god knows the average choom is not going to be able to do any of that.
If you wanted to play someone that lived as long as Saburo, Chronologically anyways- What would it take? Captain America style cryogenics?

So right now I am in a game set in the 2070s era but homebrewed to be without neuroports (quickhacks can be done on neural links instead) I am at Rockerboy 5 and was considering multiclassing into Netrunner.
Here is the situation before the campaign had started the plan was to be a rockerboy/netrunner that focused on drones, but drones were very expensive and slow to fix once damaged, personal drones didn't need to be a netrunner to use and there was going to be a netrunner already in the crew so I decided to not do that, but the netrunner ended up leaving so we don't have one right now.
I was considering then going back to that idea and multiclassing into netrunner, but it felt quite expensive, like I would need to buy netrunning gear and would lose my rockerboy 5 hustle table, though since we are playing with a slightly tweaked version of the HQ rules from the No Place Like Home dlc maybe an upgraded server room to make and sell programs could compensate for the loss of the hustle table?
I am honestly not quite sure, would this multiclass be worth it?

Grim and Otto get dropped off in Pacifica by a terrible cab driver and set out to take a look at a much more expanded theme park than the canon Night City actually has.
At this point we are just using the app for everything, after the bullet shaped dice kept only landing on the even side. The app wasn't totally feature rich yet, which is why we still have some trouble with it. I feel like I'm getting more comfortable with the rules at least.

So I have a friend that wants to do a cyberpunk campaign but he wants to do it in d&d 5th edition which I think is a really bad idea because he's done this with monster Hunter and it turned out really bad
And I remembered a few years ago I played cyberpunk red. So I was going to come here to ask if anyone has resources like where to get the official books. Is there a website that I can use to have my friends put all their character sheets in maybe some YouTube videos explaining the system that I can give to my friends so can do it because I really do not want to do cyberpunk in d&d 5th edition

I'm not a GM, but I would like to try it one day once I get a bit more experience as a player. (I play mostly PBP on Discord) I've jotted down some ideas for gigs and I'd like opinions on some of my ideas. I'm just spitballin' them, but what do you think?
SPAMKING
Recently Maelstrom gangers have been attacking Rocklin Augmentics offices. In Force. They’ve destroyed one office completely and murdered everyone in it, and they’ve caused enough damage to two others that they’ve effectively shut them down. One attack was so bad MAXTAC had to be called. What is really happening is Maelstrom is being bombarded with invasive, non-stop ads on their agents, 90% of them for Rocklin Augmentics. Shutting down their agents is difficult, if not impossible as Maelstrom members are so heavily cybered it would be like cutting their heads off and most are on the edge (or over the edge) of Cyberpsychosis, so it didn’t occur to them.
For reference, how annoyed are you when the same commercial is played constantly when you’re watching TV? How annoyed are you when you get spam email or text messages constantly. Multiply that by having your phone basically in your head and the ads popping up in a HUD in your vision…constantly….and no spam filtering seems to work.
This has pushed the already unstable members of Maelstrom over the edge. To make it stop they figure they must destroy Rocklin Augmentics. Even during their attacks, the ads don’t stop.
But Rocklin Augmentics is NOT behind the ad attack. The attacks are orchestrated by the Inquisitors. While the Inquisitors hate Cyber enhancements, they’ve developed a malware program that allows them to target subnets and send the constant stream of BS ads. The malware, called “Spamking” is a masterwork of programming. The crew is hired to find out who designed the virus/malware and make it stop.
· Is a member of the Inquisitors a master programmer that created this viral malware?
OR
· The inquisitors have kidnapped and forced a talented netrunner to create this virus/malware
SQUATTERS
Gina Van Pelt is a Scott Brown Real Estate Agent. She’s been with the company for 3 or 4 years and is known to be an effective, no-nonsense employee. Scott Brown Realty is known for handling properties in or near dangerous areas. Their realtors are armed and trained in clearing out squatters in those places. But they aren’t suicidal, and Gina has collected a fund she uses to hire mercs for clearing properties she doesn’t think she can do herself.
Her reasons for hiring the party fall into that description. It’s also that 6 months ago Gina took a few rounds clearing a property of squatters that happened to be gang members. She was injured enough to be hospitalized, and she doesn’t want to go through that again if she can help it. Also, she wants to attend her sister’s wedding and showing up with gunshot wounds…well, that would be in bad taste.
Gina has recently been promoted to District Manager, but her district is in the Combat Zone. One of the realtors under her was to get a property…an abandoned motel ready for a client that is interested. But the realtor, David Rimmer, has vanished while doing so. It turns out the motel has been taken over by a gang. (GM’s choice) and is a hub for drug dealing and other illegal activities. Gina will pay the crew to clear out the gang and rescue David Rimmer if he’s still alive. (which she doubts.)
The twist is that Rimmer is alive. He is in cahoots with the gang. The properties he was responsible for in the combat zone were losers. Barely anyone would want them and that means he wasn’t getting commissions. So, he let the gangs “rent” them from him for a cut of their takings (unknown to Gina or anyone else in the company). When Gina told him to get the motel ready for a showing, he knew his jig was up and went all in with his gang ties. The crew can either
· Let Rimmer go. If cornered and outmatched Rimmer will offer a deal to the crew. Let him go and he’ll just leave the property with his gang buddies and give some eddies to the crew for it. He knows he’s toast if he’s captured. Scott Brown Realty may not be a corpo giant, but they won’t go easy on him if his scheme is discovered.
· Kill him. If the crew won’t take his offer he will fight back rather than be captured. He’s not supposed to be a lightweight, either. GMs should treat him as a legitimate combatant. He’ll fight even if outnumbered if his deal is declined.
· If the crew does capture him the last they’ll see of him is Gina having her personal guards toss him in the trunk of a car. His fate is up to the GM.
IMPOUND
Theresa Mendoza is a nomad smuggler whose clan is the GM’s choice. Hired to deliver a mysterious package to a corporate contact in the Upper Marina, she neither asked what it contained nor tried to open it. She simply placed the sealed box—about the size of a ream of paper—in a hidden compartment in her vehicle and drove from Las Vegas to Night City.
Unfortunately, just as she entered the city traffic was stopped due to a firefight on the highway. Stuck in gridlock, Theresa got out of the car to help a mother with a small child that was in the line of fire from the warring parties. (GM’s choice, it could be booster gangs, corporate mercs, whatever). Theresa was wounded and lost consciousness in doing so. She was out for over 24 hours and woke up in a clinic that EMS dropped her off in. By that time her vehicle was impounded since it was unattended in the middle of the highway, and any registration was on it was fake. She can’t claim it from impound without getting arrested and drawing too much attention to the car.
The car was impounded in a Towing Company lot run by 6th Street (and it’s basically a chop shop). She wants to hire the crew to break into the impound lot and retrieve the package. (She’s still in bad shape from her injuries). Theresa has no money to pay upfront, but once she delivers the package, she’ll happily pay the Edgerunners a windfall. (Whatever the package is it must be worth a lot). Theresa will give the crew information on how to access the hidden compartment.
The impound lot is surrounded by a chain link fence, but since it’s run by 6th street there will be roving guards and surveillance. Theresa doesn’t care about the car. Once the package is safe 6th street can chop it to bits for all she cares.
If the crew is successful Theresa will honor the deal and pay the crew once she delivers the package. (NOTE: It’s the GM’s choice, but I’d leave the contents of the package ambiguous unless it’s going to be used to springboard into a new gig). This might also score some points with whatever nomad clan Theresa is a part of.
Alternatively, the crew could try to deliver the package themselves and cut Theresa out. They’d have to figure out who the contact is somehow. (Theresa wisely won’t give that info up unless they torture it out of her). But then they will make deadly enemies of her clan. Either way, they’re going to piss off 6th Street.

Asking for a job happening in an apartment. How mucn HP sould the wall and floor of a classic megabuilding have?
I think the HP of the enviroment is important, and can be super cinematic, expecially when a lot of combats in this campaign are gonna happen indoors.
A grenade can blast a hole in the floor if damage is rolled high enough, continuing the fight in the living room of a poor gonk housed an apartment down.
I would assume the walls would be Thick Plaster/Plastic (15 HP), and the floor Thick Wood (20 HP) in terms of toughness, but I am not sure. What HP would you give it?

Boa noite, gente!

I know Judy is considered a braindance “editor”. However my impression was that she was basically adjusting the “volume” levels of the senses. She wasn’t adding anything new into the lived experience. Every braindance we see is directly lived experience.
If Braindances cannot be tampered with then would they admissible in court?
Trying to see if my CSI type character will also need to instal a micro video camera to act like two factor authentication. If the braindance matches up with the video perfectly then authenticity and possibly chain of custody could be verified.
I could also see a loophole where nothing is added to the braindance, but strategically removed. Like removing the split second in the tutorial braindance where we see the tv screen and learn he was set up.

Hey chooms, it's the Heavy Armor Lizard. Thank y'all for ze Reddit Updoots when I covered those Heavy Corp Guards the other day (wish there were more comments but eh, I'll take whatever).
So, related to that post. Remember near the end where I was gonna cover dudes in Flak and Metalgear? Well guess what, it's this post specifically about Flak wearers.
For those that have a lot of Cyberpunk RED content, ever notice something with armor? Over the years, we NEVER have gotten a statblock for a NPC in Flak or Metalgear. Now sure there are the Rank 8 and 9 Backup for Lawman as well as the Ranger in NC2045 but outside of that, there's nothing (And yes I know about Adam Smasher but he's the exception rather than the rule plus his armor is cheating so it doesn't count imo). Anytime you see armor above Light Armorjack, its either Medium or Heavy Armorjack. And the dudes using it range from shit like the corebook Security Officer to incredible like the Heavy Corp Guards that I covered before.
Reason why those two are normally used is because most of the time, you're fighting armored guards at the top of Street Level so a piece of Heavy Armorjack is the max they feasibly need during their jobs hence why you will almost never see Flak and especially Metalgear.
So if Medium and Heavy Armorjack are street armor, what are Flak and Metalgear? Milspec gear. Flak looks like you're going to war and Metalgear looks like you're supposed to be in a very futuristic war. In fact, think back to the Lawman ranks. The Marshal and C-SWAT show up at Rank 8 and 9. At those ranks, the Lawman likely isn't just some street cop or guard anymore. They're an elite level figure, calling on these badass dudes in milspec gear to assist them in a firefight.
Meaning GMs, if you're summoning these guys, it's a heavy escalation scenario. C-SWAT is Max-Tac and they're bringing in dudes with Combat Number 15 while wearing Metalgear. If these guys aren't competent, then they're not real. They're not matching the stakes these lot should be showcasing.
So like I mentioned, Flak is war level and Metalgear is future war level. This means that when you make a soldier, most of the time they're wearing Flak. As mentioned in a post that I did earlier this year, Metalgear should be reserved for the big dogs. These are the guys your girlfriend tells you not to worry about even though you're still wearing highend armor. These oughta be the boogieman like Max-Tac are. They're rare but when they show up, they're powerful af and can definitely pressure a crew.
So, what's a good baseline for a soldier? Remember, security guards are the more common occurrence you see in most games. And these two statblocks are the perfect example of competent street level guards.

Solo Rank 3 or 4, Combat Number 12-14 (with Evasion bases also being 12-14), high Initiative, and 'high' MOVE. Plus they have cyberware or good weapons to boost their odds. Accurate, defensive, and mobile. These traits make these two NPCs effective in most games, especially the Heavy Corp Guard.
So what about a soldier? For most corps back in the 2020 edition, becoming a soldier was considered a promotion. Meaning an Arasaka Soldier isn't just some dude that signed up, that's a Guard that got some more skill and was promoted. So this is my idea of this concept:

Like the guards, a typical Soldier should have their Combat Numbers go from 12 to 14, they're Rank 3-5 Solos, and they're rocking impressive weapons and/or cyberware to complement their skills.
And you may ask, 'uh Infernox, why are they using TuP Flak'? Simple, because Flak with high penalties means soldiers need to be masters to use it at a high Combat Number. Plus, ever notice that the Recovery Zone Marshal and Ranger only have TuP Flak? Sounds like to me the intention is that Flak is MEANT TO BE TECH UPGRADED. So all soldiers in the field are using it, this isn't something you get your hands on even if you source it through a Fixer.
Now as for what their Combat Numbers is GM Fiat. Imo, a poorer country or corp will likely have their Armed Forces have an average of 12 and they'd be lucky to have better weaponry/cyberware to help them. But the richer or more powerful factions should definitely be more dangerous. Take a Lazarus Soldier for instance (my interpretation of one):

Rank 4 or 5 Solo, Combat Number 14 and Evasion 14, plus they're mobile. And they have a Smartgun Link bringing them up to +15. This makes them a strong threat in the field. And as high rank Solos, they can definitely use their Role Rank to increase their survivability or offense should the situation need it.
You can then add more stuff to them to make em stronger or more well-rounded.
And that's it on soldiers. Hope this is some nice inspiration for those running deadlier campaigns down the line.
Next, I'll probably highlight possible Metalgear NPCs, the scary dudes that shouldn't show up unless things are completely FUBAR.

hello, i am interested in playing red. i have played dnd before and have been a dm for two campaigns. looking to play as a player instead. are there some resources for finding games?
