Hi everyone,

I recently bought an 8BitDo Ultimate 2C Wireless Controller from Amazon India, and I have a question about its charging behaviour.

When I connect it to charge, the red charging indicator turns on for a few seconds and then turns off, even though the battery isn't fully charged.

I monitored the battery percentage, and it increased from around 77% to 85%, 91%, and 95% while charging. However, the red light still turns off after a few seconds.

I've tried a different USB-C cable and a standard power source, but the behaviour remains the same.

The controller seems to work fine while gaming. My main concern is whether the charging light turning off so quickly is normal or whether my controller might have a battery or charging issue.

Questions:

1. Does anyone else's Ultimate 2C Wireless behave this way while charging?

2. Does the red light normally turn off before the battery reaches 100%?

3. Should I be concerned or request a replacement?

I just ordered a custom controller online through moddedzone and paid 293 dollars, a few days later, ups calls and said that with 2 import fees would be like 100, plus gst would make it 241 dollars and I’m not paying that!!! Where is the best site or anything to buy a custom controller in CANADA!!!!

Through a lot of research, trial and error, modifying the inside to save space, making sure the bending/folding/extending still works, and a whole lot of broken wires i finally did it. A wireless ASUS Tessen!
I could of done a better job on the switch (it's smooth/flush so you don't even know its there).
It's not perfect but everything works, it looks like it isn't even modified, and the Bluetooth i can use from literally across my house!

Parts I used:

• 300mah Battery
• HiLetgo 1A 3.7V Lithium Battery Charging Board with Protection Type-C
• DC-DC 1.5V -> 4.2V to 5V Boost Converter
• Seeed Studio XIAO ESP32S3-2.4GHz
• Small micro switch
• Super thin flexible wire
• "skorokithakis" on GitHub for their "bluetooth-gamepad" repo (AI to edit for compatability)

If you do wanna do this i highly recommend it, some tips i would give is:

• To clear out as much space as possible inside the grips by removing some supports for the screw posts without removing them
• Remove the stoppers for the extending arms or the wires will get caught.
• Use some super thin and flexible wire for feeding through the extensions as it's super tight
• When feeding wires across the extensions, make sure to join directly to the 5v converter board and the other sides power input. If you splice between them the wires will break from pulling the device easily (This will save you a lot of headaches)
• Keep pressure on the center of the bridge so the wires don't curl.
• Seeed on the right, battery on the left.
• You can use the power input on the board instead of the bottom USB-C port to wire in the power as well

I also left my wiring diagram as well for anyone to use if they want to do this

Adjustable soldering iron
Solder wire (thin with flux)
Desoldering braid + Solder sucker (essential)
Soldering flux (to make fusion easier)
Isopropyl alcohol (99%) (for cleaning)
Precision screwdriver + plastic opening tool

But hey, I don't have any friends or acquaintances in this field, so I can only turn to you guys for advice and product recommendations to get started. Controllers have been a passion of mine for a while now, so I'd love to finally get my hands dirty instead of relying on someone else 24/7

This is the first time I tried to take the contrller apart and design my own diy. I usually use this controller to play retro games.I like soccer, so I'm going to design a soccer style

I design what I want at the canva, Then, through polishing, painting and other steps (may also need to use an acrylic marker pen), although the effect is not very good, the feeling of my first production is still memorable. Come on next time

Im attempting my first switch mod and im going for a classic psp look to it. Having a little trouble finding where to get STL files or even just something thats already a made controller. Does anyone know of a place that would have these or someone who could commission them? Thanks in advance!

I've always wondered whether it would be possible to mod a dualsense by swapping the positions of the left analog stick and the D-pad to achieve an Xbox-style layout. Could this be done by soldering wires to reroute the connections and 3D-printing custom housing parts to accommodate the new layout?

I know that 3rd party compatible controllers with this layout do exist for ps4/5 but I'm only interested in this dualsense modding.

So in 2020 I created a standalone Dreamcast controller phone holder , that’s connected to Raphnet ADAP-DC-USB_v2 . I figured let me redo the wiring on the microprocessor to the JST PH 2.0 connector. It had to be done , I’m surprised that I got away with it the first time absolutely horrendous . Anyway hopefully the video is not too blurry. FYI Crazy Taxi 2 , I forgot how to use the controls .
