Pregunta Send Money from Cuba

Is it possible to send money from Cuba to the USA?

I know it's usually the opposite of what is being asked.

It's usually done peer-to-peer. Yo give cash to someone here (Cuba) and someone receive the equivalents funds via Zelle or bank transfer there (US). I think the cost is about 5-10% of funds sent

With the right people it can be quick. One person in Cuba receives the money and another that has access to Zelle/cashapp etc sends it once they get word the cash has been received. Sometimes the cash physically leaves sometimes it stays put and used for other transactions.

Find the person in your area who does remesas. They will take a fee, but that's how money is moved off the island. Usually the work with the private businesses selling stuff there but I'm sure you can move some as an individual.

Or you can go on local revolico and try and do some remesas yourself and get the money via zelle or whatever.

It's not like there's a functioning banking system.

If you give a good rate, you can probably get it moved fast depending on how much.

If you're talking like many thousands, then you'll probably need to talk to someone higher up in those chains.

In theory those who move money already have an account in the us with funds. And they have funds there. Family usually deposits into the account abroad and funds are dispersed on the island. You can do this exact thing backwards.

Usually at USD/EUR or at high rates of CUP, there are a few people in revolico.

Neighbor made enough money for passport and plane ticket.

No it’s illegal and us dollars would need to be smuggled out in person, would result in life in prison. Would be easier to smuggle drugs out of the country

But I’m sure there is corrupt officials with a WhatsApp group for this somewhere
