I've only managed 46 hours in about 2 months due to health getting worse, but as long as Brennan keeps C4 going for at least 3 more years, I should have enough time :)

3 pics (1) 500 hours (2) 454 hours pic to show how much has been stitched in 46 hours -the area above Marisha's head (3) the photo I'm following.

Discussion [CR Media] A helpful introduction to the new players of Shattered Legends Spoiler

I know many critters aren't super familiar with Hololive and possibly since the announcement looked them up and got extremely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of new information that turns up and the daunting task of seeing the hundreds of stream VODs every member has. With no good easy start point like a Campaign first episode, figured I'd give a run down on all the new members, what you might expect from them for this campaign vibes wise, as well good streams to check out if you want to start somewhere in watching them pre-series start. Obviously this is also just my personal expectations on what character they'll play, the reality as always for every campaign is we won't know until it starts.

Nerissa Ravencroft: Hololive's resident self described diva. She very much loves to act dramatically and has zero hesitation to make herself the butt of her own and other people's jokes, all in good humor. Very much a stereotypical theater kid, expect her to get very into character extremely quickly and be more then happy to suffer the consequences of her own actions, bad dice rolls or get into conflict with other PCs, if it's in character. Except her to play someone either haughty and confident, or slightly reserved and naive. For checking out the kinds of streams she hosts, I recommend starting with her recently finished Wind Waker Playthough.

Shiori Novella: Hololive's paramount gigantic nerd. Extremely smart and witty, very much enjoys poking at people's buttons and then immediately feeling bad about it, but never at all enough to stop. Expect her to get very into character and is very likely to be both the one to work out any mysteries and worries of the plot, but also enjoy the chance to introduce chaos, both in and out of character. Expect her to be playing someone smart and aloof. Good streams to check out for her would be her recent Resident Evil Requiem Streams or her Portal 2 Streams

Mori Calliope: Hololive's own personal Forever DM/Matt level workaholic. Has the most experience with TTRPGs of all the assembled players, though most of that is as a DM. Will likely be very happy to replace her usual experience with playing a few dozen characters at once to focus on just playing one. As a PC tends to play characters who would prefer the plot and horror of the week leave her alone to grill, so we'll see if that carries on for this campaign. Except her to play someone barely keeping track of whatever the hell is going on. Good streams to check out for her would be her Asura's Wrath playthrough or her Space Marines 2 playthrough or one of her oneshot TTRPG sessions, Episode 0 and Episode 1.

Gigi Murin: Hololive's own endless font of energy, optimism and extreme trolling. Very much enjoys inflicting Sam Riegel ad read levels of chaos, well also being more then happy to inflict terrible, soul deep trauma on herself and other players. Very much enjoys playing a 'I'm just a little guy' character, who will never the less focus on resolving the plot, saving the day and posing sadly in the rain. For her, a good start is her Outer Wilds playthrough

Fluff [No spoilers] Caleb's handwriting samples.

Heya, I'm a fairly new critter (about a year now, little less). Got pulled into it through the Mighty Nein show and have been watching the campaign in the past year (currently on c126). This is a silly thing to probably post and it's so extremely specific that nobody might ever need it, but:

Small bit of context: I like to write fanfiction. I've been working on something with Caleb as the primary pov character, and then I started to think about his handwriting and wondered if there was anything stated about it before I started making things up that were stated.

When I googled it I couldn't find anything concrete, just people assuming/headcanoning- and then I remembered that there is a print that comes with the collector's edition of The 2nd volume of Chronicles of Exandria - The Mighty Nein, that is Caleb's notes on the beacon. Written in his handwriting (+ a small Jester cameo. Thanks to her additions you can tell it's Caleb's notes, so thank you Jester!)

So I figured I'd simply post some close-ups here in case anyone else ever had the same question as I did without having spent entirely too much money on a book đŸ«Ą. I hope this is okay to post, I don't think there's anything really spoilery in here, but if it is please tell me so I can change/repost with appropriate tsg. I'm a bit of a reddit newbie in terms of posting anything.

Question [No Spoilers] going to the live show in London and looking for advice and tips please.

Hiya, as the title says, I’m going to the live show in London and as I’ve never been to anything like this before at the 02, I’m just looking for some advice or tips to calm my anxiety. What does the day look like? What time should we get there? When should we queue for merch? Is the queue for merch long?

Any tips would be appreciated, thank you!

Question [No spoilers] Trying to sell tickets for london live show help

Hi all, I have two tickets for the london live show at the o2 (I ended up getting better view ones via work so am still attending).

I can see the tickets in my AXS account but I can’t hit sell or transfer yet. I’m really worried I’m going to end up with these 2 extra tickets unsold now as I’ve never not been able to sell/transfer this close to an event.

Does anyone know when this option will be available as I really want two fans to be able to have my tickets!

Question [NO SPOILERS] 2 tickets for Critical Role Live in London – 26 October – B3, Row J (face value)

Hi fellow critters!

Unfortunately, a couple of friends who were supposed to join us for Critical Role Live in London on 26 October can no longer make it, so I'm looking to sell their two tickets at face value to fellow fans.

The tickets are in Block B3, Row J.

AXS currently has both resale and ticket transfers disabled, but from what I understand, these options should become available soonish (had contact with AXS support). I'd love to find interested buyers beforehand so we can arrange everything as soon as AXS allows it.

I'm not looking to make any profit — just hoping these tickets can go to fans who'd love to be there!

If you're interested, feel free to send me a DM. Happy to answer questions and coordinate the transfer through AXS once it's available.

Hope to help two critters get to the show! 💚

Discussion [Spoilers C4E37] That 12 and 13 Spoiler

Okay, very sincere question, why do people have issues with the 4th death saving throw?

I’m not new to Critical Role (I was a big C1 and C2 fan because of all the free-time Covid gave me, then I dropped C3 after the Laudna resurrection because the constant references to C1 kinda broke me), but I am new to C4. I tried to start it on release but the overture episodes really put me off (too many characters introduced at once, the cold-opens felt weird and over-produced, exposition was a bit too heavy on everything Thjazi related, etc.). BUT, after seeing how emotional E36-37 made people and having seen enough of the early episodes to know I liked Tyranny and Wick more than any of the other cast, I decided to just kinda drop in and watch them with very little context. I liked them, but I also walked away saying “Wow, that 4th death save was bullshit”. But then, for catching up purposes, I went back and started watching through some more of the (post-overture) sessions, starting with the Soldier’s Table. Turns out, this 4th death save-type stuff has kinda always been in this campaign.

You wanna talk RAW-ruining bullshit? The last time Wick’s life was really on the line, back when he was getting executed in Castle Sloak, he was given the option to FULLY STABILIZE after ONE SAVING THROW! That, or toss out FREE INSPIRATIONS! Back in C2, that costed a 100GP Pearl and a third level spell slot! The periapt of wound closure, which Mollymauk had (LOL) and stabilized him upon knockout, costs an attunement slot! Those are really powerful magical effects that Sam got for just, going down to 0!

Yes, all of the press materials for this campaign have talked about how deadly it is, but if you give Brennan’s homebrew mechanics even a cursory glance, you’ll see that the main characters do have more than a little bit of plot armor! And considering everything about Wick’s character, isn’t he the most qualified to wear some plot armor at a time like this? His grandmother came back to life, didn’t she?

(I am aware it was a ruse, but still, that event “occurring” makes his own “resurrection” in a setting without revivify more impactful, or at the very least, a more fitting ability.)

There is some real-time calculus happening behind Brennan’s eyes in E37. You can literally see him processing what opportunities would be fair to offer to Wick. And, given his grandmother’s resurrection and Tyranny’s newfound purpose in The Pit, I see why his offered options were “heroic sacrifice to get Tyranny home or a complete bet on self-resurrection”. It makes the most sense for that moment! It follows everything Tiger-Mommy told Tyranny in the moments before the fight!

At the very least, it certainly makes more fuckin sense than giving out heroic inspirations to Teor across a courtyard while he was dying LOL.

TLDR: Death saves in hard combats were bullshit long before E37 (see: Casimir fight at Sloake), and the 4th death save wasn’t really a betrayal to the campaigns premise. It was just a substitute for the weird mechanics Brennan introduced earlier in the series, catered specifically to Wick and Tyranny’s arcs to create a better story—which should probably be the end goal, right?
