I read "unevolved protein" and immediately thought, "and that ones going into the library."

Just like when I heard, "Your brain could explode and it wouldn't even ruffle your hair" in a song.

One of my personal favorites, well TWO actually:

I know that first one was Stargate. (I think the speaker was Carter? It's been a while)

The second sounds familiar, but isn't coming to mind.

Second one is from a John Scalzi book called Starter Villain. It's spoken by a hyper-intelligent talking dolphin named "Who Gives a Shit."

Good book. Hilarious.

EDIT: Forgot to high-five you. Yes, the first one was Carter in Stargate. Episode was "Foothold."

Ah, that's why that sounded familiar. A coworker was reading that and quoted it to me (though he didn't mention the dolphin was named "Who Gives a Shit"... that is hilarious.)

I'll have to look into that book later. (My coworker did recommend it to me, but I was reading a rather dense series at time and I guess I just forgot about it by the time I finished.)

It's quite good. Though to be honest, I've found just about EVERYTHING by Scalzi to be very entertaining. And the audiobook for Starter Villain is narrated by Wil Wheaton, so that's fun.
