It just a persecution complex, they feel more validated in their beliefs if they think everyone hates them for it, also they are ostracizing themselves which drives them further down the rabbit hole

Seriously I don't understand how people think this is ok lol I would have died from embarrassment if I was traveling with her. It's so cringe and just makes her look like a lunatic. Social media really lowered the bar for acceptable public behavior.
