Christians have never been persecuted in America. Christians have been the one persecuting people worldwide since Theodosius I of Rome.

In Kentucky snake handling is punishable with a fine of 100 bucks.

If that is not persecution against true, snake handling, Christians I don't know what is.

I think that fine should be removed.

I think christians should be encouraged to handle venomous snakes.

Maybe we could start some sort of charity to partner Christians with venomous snakes.

But that could put the snakes in danger! Who knows where they're getting them and what conditions they're being kept in? What if they're mishandled and injured?!? :(

Ehh I’d say plenty of smaller groups calling them Christians have been persecuted. Mostly quite a long time ago. But not by forced deplaning, lol.

Christians have never been persecuted in America.

Mormons were definitely persecuted.

I agree that Christians haven't been persecuted in the United States. However, using a broad historical brush for the same argument is unwise, as there are historical cases of Christian persecution (Rome, early Muslim conquests, ect).

Mormons might disagree, but then again that was at the hands of those who didn't think Mormons were Christian

I dont think many American Christians are christian.

I grew up presbyterian and I'm athiest now. Although I reject all of the supernatural stuff, I agree with the lessons about radical love, compassion and acceptance because I think our greater purpose as humans is to help one another.

I don't think there's a people alive who couldn't say that about their ancestors at one point.
