Jesus told his followers to do this shit. It is their “great commission” to go around preaching his return and the end of the world. Luckily, most Christians haven’t read the Bible and don’t really believe it.
No, in point of fact, he did no such thing. He explicitly told them not to do this sort of shit in public. It's later in Acts where the issue of proselytizing comes up. In the gospels themselves, no such obligation is mandated.
The only places Jesus tells anyone to do so is in passages such as Matthew 28:19-20. The problem for fuckwits like blondie on the plane is that command was issued to the disciples of Jesus who he'd personally trained to carry it out. Everywhere else Jesus talks about conversion, he explicitly states it's his father calling them in their hearts. No more, no less.
Edit: ROFL, too scared to have a discussion so you block me huh? Ok, fine, here's a reply anyway:
Those passages are all aimed directly at his disciples, not people today. They couldn't possibly have been intended for anyone in the modern age since according to him, he was supposed to have come back before some people he spoke directly to died!
Mark 16:15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
The passage you mention is the great commission.
Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
The problem for Christians is Jesus said he would return within that generation to end the world, and that obviously did not happen. So the great commission is still in effect, but that is inconvenient. Christians do not want to leave everything behind to be traveling preachers like Jesus said to. They want lives and families, things Jesus said you must not choose over him. Christians just do not actually believe what Jesus says.

Jesus would slap her and tell her to keep his name out of her fucking mouth and get off the fucking plane.
