The full video is wild. The boomer legit does a 180 and tries to play the victim when his aggrs shit doesn’t fly.

I recall the male Karen was eventually charged with more stuff because he put hands on the kid and confined him in his car

32

u/WileyWilly1985 1d ago

this was a crazy video of narcissism and self entitlement. it was hilarious as the cop explained that the Karen was in the wrong and could be arrested...

Kid also ended up having dash cam which proved he was no where near the guy when he passed him

3

u/1PantherA33 1d ago

What was the dude's original issue?

9

u/Teckliz 1d ago

That the kid didn’t move over enough when passing him on a road. The kid even had a dash cam that shows he moved over though from what I remember

2

u/glockster19m 23h ago

Yeah it wasnt even close

2

u/Glittering_Gene8388 1d ago

He should have faced wrongful imprisonment charges for that

4

u/Papa_Mid_Nite 1d ago

Can you give keywords to find or the link? Thanks. Would love to watch the whole thing.

Thanks a lot. And don't worry and don't blame them. People have been pushed too far by governments and corporations these days. I get it.

4

u/manchopsticks 1d ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9u43nRr_CU there go dude. some the video kid made and the bodycam footage

3

u/righty95492 1d ago

Thank you for posting the full video. The older guy was the douche here. Wonder what happened in the end and if the old man showed up to court.the older guy was also really interested to get the kid’s information which was very weird.

3

u/manchopsticks 1d ago

i dunno much of what happend after but i know the kid did get done for driving too close to a cyclist but the dropped them charges. other than that your guess is as good as mine. Am always mega curious with "what happend next" sorta things, like has the old dude learnt not to be a dick? lol

2

u/Papa_Mid_Nite 1d ago

Thanks a million.

I`m the victim here!!!

5

u/AtBat3 1d ago

He was trying to close the door!!!!!!

22

u/Several-County-1808 1d ago

In Florida, trying to forcibly enter another's vehicle triggers stand your ground rights for the vehicle occupant. A very bad idea.

6

u/BreakingCanks 1d ago

Same with a lot of other states... Texas here and that would be his last day on earth if he tried that in this state

I just need it known that it WILL be a bad day for the person that tries to manhandle my car door open.

Especially grumpy old week, dude wearing cycling gear

u/MrZephy 1d ago

Putting the laughter in involuntary manslaughter charge

5

u/jeffenwolf 1d ago

I've never heard that before 😂

2

u/thunder_dog99 18h ago

He’s very lucky. Castle Doctrine has been proven to apply to people in vehicles. Open my door? Only once.

2

u/Hour_Flounder1405 6h ago

depends on the state. BUT...and here's the thing. should you physically harm someone, even when defending yourself you will most likely be sued in civil court ...even for something "minor" like "pain and suffering", which does not need to be physical in nature...could be something as simple as someone getting their feelings hurt.

So, you should be very careful about how to handle bidness.

For the record, I've been in such a situation. And was arrested for merely pointing my firearm at a very real attacker. It was a stressful and expensive legal process to ultimately be found innocent of all criminal charges. But then I faced a civil lawsuit and that was far more expensive. I attempted to bring my own criminal and civil charges against the aggressor, but did not get any relief.

Here's my advice. When confronted with someone who is obviously bent on doing you harm, get away...as fast as you can and find a safe distance and then call 911. What you don't want to happen is to rely on a castle doctrine as your defense. It's a dice roll in the courts...and if you do harm that person, it's a higher odds you'll get sued.

These road rage and "karen" type confrontations, almost every single one of them are totally avoidable. Even with camera and video evidence, ambulance chasing attorneys will find a way to separate you from your wallet. It happens much more often than these social media videos care to share.

God Bless America

11

He should've pushed for false imprisonment

8

IIRC in the longer video officer says that disorderly conduct is not the only charge against the cyclist

This is a strategic option. They will likely scratch the paint if you do this. It shows to the court you were trying to get away and better your chances of getting a free fresh paint job. Can't just cover it up or it will look weird. Gotta paint the whole door and if your paint is older and faded, you could possibly argue a new paint job.

u/Holiday_Pi 1d ago

I would open my door. Quickly and with force

3

u/VonNeumannsProbe 1d ago

Lol if this person was driving a run down car, you're going to get demolished by that door.

3

u/izwald88 1d ago edited 1d ago

For real. My car is one of my prized possessions. I almost lost it once when I was leaving a farmers market when some weird church youth group was chatting outside my car, with some of them leaning on it. They even had the nerve to ask if it was my car as I approached with my produce.

2

u/theaudacity1999 1d ago

My stance, is that I'm cornered. Try pulling my door open and I take that as an absolute life/limb threat. I've been in trouble on Reddit for posting some of my true thoughts on this exact scenario. I don't want banned :)

6

u/IvanNemoy 1d ago

In SC it absolutely is. State law here grants the automatic presumption of death or injury if someone forces a door open and puts lethal force on the table (exemptions for lawful owners of the vehicle, law enforcement, or if you yourself are committing a crime in said vehicle.)

S.C. Code Ann. § 16-11-440(A)

6

u/theaudacity1999 1d ago

Some people have never had to defend themselves or been in a situation to need to do it. Lucky them. It's not being "tough"...it's just that my assumption, if you are trying to rip my car door open, is that it is to harm me. I'm going home at the end of the day. You can make fun or downvote all you want.

3

u/RealnessInMadness 1d ago

My thing is, common sense… reach for a door? How do I know that person won’t just slam the door on my fingers? If you haven’t gotten your arm or finger accidentally caught on a car door.
You’ll never forget the feeling.

This old boomer is entirely high on aggression and his toxic masculinity. 💀

2

u/Vat1canCame0s 1d ago

I think the cop even dressed Gary Peacock with that exact notion; flipping a total strangers switch like that is an incredibly foolish move from a survival standpoint.

Here’s an article about the incident. The kid was initially charged, but his charges were dropped

Does the lycra affect brain function, or does the hobby attract wankers? I've always wondered.

10

u/mang87 1d ago

I cycle ~160KM a week, and from my experience I'm going to say it's the lycra. I've had bad encounters with other cyclists before, and it's only ever been from the lads in the full-on cycling gear like they're training for a race. Their bikes are also always fucking pristine like they just bought it, too. During rush-hour, they're the ones getting annoyed with you if they're stuck behind you and you, gasp, wait for the lights and don't break the law.

7

u/Ok-Constant-2683 1d ago

Full kit wankerism

The second one. They all have an air of superiority.

3

u/DJmagikMIKE 1d ago

When I’ve come across asshole cyclists, I usually say something along the lines of “Ahhhh, too many DUIs?” Or “Jesus, just drive a car like a normal adult”. Yes I know how that sounds, but it seems to pretty much immediately short circuit their brains and they just ride off.

2

u/OozeNAahz 1d ago

Some of them are like Vegans. They have figured out the one true way and everyone else is scum.

6

u/AgeImportant6932 1d ago

I used to live in Colorado. The road cyclists were the absolute worst. Especially in Boulder. I never understood it. Just mountain bike like I did. Why would someone choose to ride next to dangerous vehicles breathing exhaust when there are beautiful trails all over the place.

Nothing worse than these Bike Guys all decked out like their in a race..all douche bags 🫩

3

u/Anonymousboneyard 1d ago

Yes there is, the ones that dress like this and are on e-bikes.

2

u/Velocidal_Tendencies 1d ago

As someone who actually races and worked in the industry for 15 years, fuck that guy. This is why people will go out of their way to be shitty towards cyclists. That dude is a fucking boomer "fred", and industry folks hate them as much as drivers do.

25

u/Grambotron 1d ago

Is it possible to ride a bike without dressing like a complete and utter loser?

4

u/Wizchine 1d ago

They are functional, as another person explains below. As a comparison, I didn’t like cycling but I used to run. When I started running in high school, I didn’t want to wear the “dolphin shorts” because they looked “gay.” I wore regular shorts - until I got a painful rash on my inner thighs. “Oh, you’ve got ‘crotch rot,’”my coach told me. “Buy running shorts.” I did, and no more crotch rot.

6

u/tangosox 1d ago edited 1d ago

I mean, it's a ridiculous assertion since it's clothes that's meant to handle sweat and aerodynamics. You might think it looks dorky but it's just functional clothing. Personally I do wear this stuff because I don't like to get soaked in sweat with unbreathable clothing and it's tight fitting so it doesn't flap around as I'm going fast. The shorts also usually have padding so you don't get discomfort and chafing when sitting down on the saddles. The glasses are also functional since you have wind in your eyes at 20 mph+ that's hard to deal with, not to mention glare. Don't lump all of us in with this guy who was clearly full of himself. Also why are you judging people based on what they wear? Why is it that non cyclists don't even try to understand these things and jump straight to judgement?

Edit: love being downvoted for trying to be reasonable. This is what our society has devolved to.

6

u/Wizchine 1d ago

People have a huge, irrational hatred of cyclists. They had one guy who forced them to drive slowly once, and then develop this fixation. It’s really weird.

3

u/Civil_Brilliant7151 1d ago

I spent many years as a cyclist and yet I carry major hatred for cyclists. It’s douche bag culture.

2

u/CitySeekerTron 1d ago

FWIW I've also seen a share of downvotes for stating facts. Not opinions, and not trying to sneak in an editorialized perspective. Things like "If you're trying to run a non-networked computer and need to minimize software but need access to 7zip files, then the recent Windows 11 update includes 7z file decompression support" and responses like "But I don't like 7zip".

It only takes one or two to be confident despite their ignorance to press the downvote button. They're not representative of society.

2

u/-Majgif- 22h ago

And once people start down voting, people seem to love to pile on. They probably don't even read the post, just see a negative number, so they join in.

2

u/CitySeekerTron 17h ago

It's validating to have the force of a group agree with you, and posting online already enables people to say whatever with little accountability. I almost understand the notion of being able to express without even your name being pinned to the response, even if the response is a downvote.

2

u/WeakReplacement3322 13h ago

While the clothes absolutely look dorky as hell, I at least understand that they serve a genuine purpose. It's also probably because of people like this guy acting self righteous while wearing this stuff that gives people a bad impression of bikers. Everybody wants to lump groups together even though that's not really how individuality works. People are just ignorant dicks, try not to let them get to you. If you're not like this guy, you're absolutely not part of the problem.

10

u/Snafuregulator 1d ago

" you're not going anywhere" can be argued as kidnapping in court.

In court, kidnapping is defined as the unlawful confinement, restraint, or removal of a person from one place to another against their will (or without a parent or legal guardian's consent if the victim is a minor).

3

u/BrightPerspective 1d ago

I think he did catch an unlawful confinement charge, but he pled out and it was dropped.

I have told my kids, my nephews and nieces, and my younger cousins that no matter the age of the adult, the moment the adult makes physical contact with them, they must go hands free until the adult is incapable of touching them or the adult leaves. This man thinks their are no rules because you are beget to your elders. The same infinity they have for calling the young entitled spoiled brats, they think they are untouchable due to...years of life.

Protect yourselves. You never know what someone's intent is. It isn't up to them to explain their intent when making physical contact, it's your individual perception of their intent

6

u/FreedomBread 1d ago

Karma farming. This is a 2 year old video.

Yes, it's real.

Charges were dropped against the driver who was ticketed for passing too closely to a cyclist.

His dashcam shows he did steer left before passing, but the angle doesn’t show the exact distance between the two men.

“The content of this video informed the prosecutor’s decision to file a motion for dismissal,” Scrivner said.

People are out of their minds. If you don't own a dashcam, get one.
