I kinda miss that. I haven’t dressed fem since before my egg cracked and I’ve been on E for a while now so doubt it’ll happen when I do again ;w;

I thought that same thing, then I went shopping the other day and put on an outfit that I REALLY liked. I popped one for the first time in months

It's not permanent, it happens though because your brain gets so happy/comfortable it thinks you're aroused. It goes away after like a week or so.

when I was like 17 I got my first skirt and I loved it, but its a skirt which poses The Issue and when I asked my friend if he wanted to see how it looked he said "I do but I'm worried he's gonna pay me a visit so get used to it for a few weeks first" 😭

I'm sooo glad that I don't get those anymore. It always made me feel like a freak: trying on something pretty just for...."it" to make an unwelcome appearance. Made me feel like I was just getting off or something 😶

Same, my friend. I felt like it was "just a fetish" (had femboy origins, now Trans), so I ended up feeling guiltier and more Dysphoric about it. Now I'm happy I can control it 😌

6

u/Legatharr 9h ago

boners are caused by a sudden increase in oxytocin, not feeling horny. While oxytocin is released in response to feeling horny, it's also released when you do anything you love

2

u/H1GH_HR0THG4R 5h ago

That makes a lot more sense. I once went from 6 to midnight after eating a particularly tasty donut on my break at work I have been confused about it ever since.

49

u/hydrationgirl 9h ago

am I the only one who has literally never gotten this? like even when I was trying to be a femboy it wasn't arousing I was just dressing in a way that didn't feel bad

I had it when I first dressed fem. I also hated how I looked in the mirror, so the brain is just confusing lol.

From what I know though it goes away eventually, further along transition.

12

u/jankyalias Trans Woman 8h ago

Used to get it. Was pretty common very early on. It did go away though as doing things like wearing a dress just feel normal instead of “holy shit” exciting.

Much as I have issues down there I kinda miss it as it was very affirming in the sense that it was my body very clearly telling me “yes, more of this please” and now that the euphoria has worn off into the normality of day to day living…yeah obviously I’m happier today but I miss those early moments of total ecstasy just from doing simple things like twirling a skirt.

1

I am cis but I have never had a boner for nonsexual reasons. Everyone’s body is different tho

48

u/EmperorTugboat 9h ago

Is this a thing? I'm a CIS dude and I don't think I've ever gotten a euphoria boner

62

u/SlatkoPotato 9h ago

It makes sense if you think generally of boners that happen unintentionally and were "false alarms" (not triggered by actual sexual arousal). It happens a lot during puberty, and transitioning is kinda doing puberty again. Some people never experience it, some people experience it a lot. This is one reason why a boner is not consent. It doesnt automatically mean youre sexually interested.

16

u/Legatharr 9h ago

you've never randomly gotten a boner despite not feeling horny?

29

u/MrNigel117 9h ago

it's like when dude bros would do something "cool" whether it was blowing something up, or like a skater doing a hard trick or something and some says "i'm hard holy shit" it's like the excitement boner. though i never got one like that either. i just thought it was a crass expression of experiencing pure awesomeness.

1

u/Chloreos_ 2h ago

what the fuck are we talking about

-31

u/Sad_Worker7143 9h ago

We never get hard when experiencing something cool… we get hard when we wake up and when we think about something sexual or are sexually aroused.

Yea. Usually when I wake up or when I need to adjust my balls

32

u/RevisedPerspective Bwehsbian 8h ago

That's literally not true. An erection can occur for many non-sexual reasons, and excitement and nervous tension are among them

25

u/p1-o2 9h ago

Lol speak for yourself.

People get hard when they are excited.

People get hard when they see someone cry.

People get hard for zero logical reason at all. Getting hard is not a moral statement.

8

u/Allmightyplatypus 8h ago

Okay, of all things, boner when someone cries must be really fucking awkward. I've never experienced things listed here personally, but nervous boner seems to be commonly experienced, so i'm inclined to believe.

4

u/Skreamie 8h ago

I've experienced it for crying but I'm just a pervert

4

u/Legatharr 8h ago

Erections can be caused by intimacy in general, sexual and non sexual. Someone crying is a pretty intimate thing

1

u/CaptainPattPotato 8h ago

Everybody’s different, and often these things usually change over your lifetime (teenage years in particular are notoriously filled with weird erections).

-6

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 8h ago

I usually hate optics conversations but in recognition of the distinction between tone and behaviour policing in general and asking someone not to post about "euphoria boners" on an all-age subreddit that I should specify that off of reddit the average transsexual woman off of reddit is not like this.

It's a legit experience for people early in their transition. As the body experiences euphoria, the body just does that unfortunately. Luckily it eventually goes away.

68

u/ArtemisInSpace 9h ago

Yep. It's a big reason why it's hard for some people to figure out if "crossdressing" is a fetish for them or they're actually just trans. (Well, it made it more difficult for me to tell at least)

22

u/TheAvaricious42 Your Local Puppygirl <3 9h ago

Thank you for saying this, I had these issues with this when I first started transitioning and it gave me a lot of doubt. (I’m past that now, I realized what it was, but it was rough at first)

26

u/JustTryingTo_Pass 9h ago

A lot of women are turned on by their own femininity.

That’s still a little controversial I guess.

11

u/TheBrownestStain 9h ago

Oh good so it’s not just me trying to figure that out

5

u/ArtemisInSpace 8h ago

Nope. You're definitely not alone.

11

u/Melathys 9h ago

My understanding was that transitioning, even just mentally (like imagining yourself in your chosen role) relaxes your parasympathetic nervous system, and an erection is one of the first signs of that relaxation.

16

u/Snaily-Girl Streak: 15 9h ago

Apparently it's not even a sexual arrousal thing, It's just something that happens. Still I hope this post won't blow up, this is a TERRIBLE look for the outsiders and will definitely be weaponized against us

34

u/PandaPlayz_6 ̶i̶n̶t̶e̶n̶s̶e̶ ̶q̶u̶e̶s̶t̶i̶o̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ I AM GIRL 9h ago

Gonna be honest, transphobes don't need another reason to hate us. They just do. I don't really care if they discover that a "euphoria-boner" exists. They already think we're perverts in the first place.

4

u/Annie_O_ 7h ago

I agree with this sentiment. Phobes don't need REAL reasons to hate us, they will just make them up as always. We, however, DO need more ways to unify, understanding our shared experiences, our bodies and identities while laughing about silly stuff like this helps to do that. Community strength and identity is survival.

-2

u/Snaily-Girl Streak: 15 9h ago

what about those who don't know anything about trans people, and then they see this?

Fair, don't really have anything to say about that. Though if this is someone's first time learning about trans people, I'd be curious about how much they've been living under a rock LOL. This is reddit of all places xP

-4

u/Morelia_Viridis_ 9h ago edited 9h ago

It makes sense as simply a potential bodily response to even non-sexual joy, but is not a universal or even common experience. There is no real use bringing it up. It just makes us look like pervert men I hate it. The idea makes me dysphoric just thinking about.

30

u/PandaPlayz_6 ̶i̶n̶t̶e̶n̶s̶e̶ ̶q̶u̶e̶s̶t̶i̶o̶n̶i̶n̶g̶ I AM GIRL 9h ago

I understand that, it is dysphoria inducing. Having one is also dysphoria-inducing. What do you think not talking about it will do? Maybe lead more trans folk to believing they're just perverts is a possibility. When I first dressed fem I experienced it and it made me feel miserable, because I thought I was a fetishist.

But other people sharing and talking about a "euphoria boner" was yet another thing that helped me realize I'm trans and not a pervert.

-8

u/Morelia_Viridis_ 9h ago

How I see it, it moreso communicates that being trans is an inherently sexual thing, and that trans women are sexually excited when they present femininely. Maybe for some people who have experienced this phenomenon it makes them feel more normal and less perverted, but that isnt the takeaway people will have from this post.

10

u/philerdm 7h ago

You need to up your reading comprehension skills then because it's quite evident that the people experiencing this phenomena do not enjoy it nor do they find it sexual.

You should have learned in middle school sexual education that neither erections nor the discussion of erections are inherently sexual.

1

u/Morelia_Viridis_ 4h ago

I'm not saying that, I'm saying that someone viewing these posts first impression would be that trans women get sexual enjoyment out of dressing femininely. They do not, but this post gives the impression that they do.

-11

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 8h ago

You literally whined about being bad faith like 4 comments ago. Not all nsfw material is porn or nudity. This post is also neither porn or nudity.

Like, do you not expect the sub thats very queer leaning and has multiple daily posts about sexuality, dysphoria, euphoria, and etc to not talk about any of those things?

I understand if it makes you uncomfortable, but you're the one who clicked on a nsfw post and are now complaining that its nsfw.

This isn't a real thing

9

u/jankyalias Trans Woman 8h ago

You are incorrect.

It can have multiple causes. One is signal crosstalk in the brain. Basically, the brain and nervous system can struggle to separate strong emotional states like deep relief, sudden excitement, or feeling attractive from sexual arousal.

Relatedly, when chronic gender dysphoria lifts the parasympathetic nervous system can rapidly relax which sometimes can trigger an erection as an automated response to high excitement.

Not to mention when people are still running on testosterone erections are cause spontaneously all the time and more easily when the brain is flooded with positive adrenaline or joy.

Not everyone gets them, but they are fairly common.

u/jankyalias Trans Woman 8h ago

Tell me you know nothing about the human body without telling me you know nothing about the human body.

Erections are often caused by arousal yes, but there are number of other causes. For example, morning wood is often caused by a full bladder. No sexual arousal required. There’s plenty of evidence that fluctuations in testosterone can cause random erections that have no basis in arousal. Are you aware you likely get 3-5 erections every night while sleeping? Not about arousal but about how your brain and nervous system function while in REM sleep.

You literally don’t know what you’re talking about and you should go do simple google. It’s not hard to look this stuff up before popping off.

0

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 7h ago

yeah no haha every time I'm really happy about something or get exited for a movie or whatever I get a really strong boner you're right. yeah if it was consistent for a group of people to get an erection from seeing movies this wouldn't indicate any sexual enjoyment of seeing a movie.

I do not care. I really don't. Again, a lot of our community develops a sexualized form of these fantasies, it's common. Yes, some people do transition for sexual reasons, and I don't care about that either. Yes, you technically *can* get erections for nonsexual reasons.

No, if you have a repeat pattern of getting boners from wearing women's clothing that's not *just* excitement, especially if it's on a group basis. For most of our history as a community we've been able to recognize the overlap between sexual desire and sex identity and distinguish matters. We've recognized the intersection of sexual fantasism and dysphoria, and the ways they can feed into each other. It's only recently that a lot of young members of our community have been on chaser and predator polluted online forums filled with people telling them their 'euphoria boners' are completely-asexual-honey and if people don't think that they're being transphobic. It's almost like reddit transsexual culture is more influenced by the desires of chasers and fetishizers than the best interests of trans women...

2

u/jankyalias Trans Woman 7h ago edited 7h ago

No one said it happens every time or for every person.

Seriously, this is well established in the medical literature. Even you’ve admitted this happens by saying you can get erections for nonsexual reasons. You just wish to restrict to what makes you comfortable.

And I think you misunderstand - euphoria boners are relegated to early early transition. They aren’t persistent. They are a function of your body going completely haywire when it experiences euphoria or relief from dysphoria at the early stages when the body is simply unable to clearly process the relief. Once things stabilize they typically go away. This is a well documented and understood part of transition.

But no, you can’t take the L and move on because you simply must put your bigotry on parade and insult us as a bunch of fetishists. The fact you personally have no experience with this aspect of transition does not make you an expert on it. Not all experiences are identical, stop being a gatekeeper.

Just go crack a book ffs and stop acting like you know anything about topics of which you don’t.

You also have no idea what the literature says about fetishes and what they mean but we won’t even go there.

A lot of girls experience a euphoria boner the first time they experiment with their gender identity and it immediately feels shameful and they start repressing because they have internalized the kind of bullshit you’re spewing.

0

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 7h ago

"But no, you can’t take the L and move on because you simply must put your bigotry on parade and insult us as a bunch of fetishist"

I am a trans woman. Recognizing the overlap of dysphoria and sexual fantasy in a community where that is one of our only pre-out outlets isn't bigotry.

"The fact you personally have no experience with transition does not make you an expert on it."

4 years HRT as of February this year thank you very much.

"Seriously, this is well established in the medical literature. Even you’ve admitted this happens by saying you can get erections for nonsexual reasons. You just wish to restrict to what makes you comfortable."

I have restricted nothing and the only restriction I've advocated for is on posting about 'euphoria boners' on all ages forums. Yes obviously nocturnal erections, boners from reasons other than arousal exist, I'm not an idiot and I don't appreciate your smug sense of superiority derived out of ignoring the obvious. You *know* damn well that feminization sexual fantasies are incredibly common among our community. You know damn well that at a young age we're encouraged to associate our feelings of femininity and our sex-dysphoria with sexual fetishism. You're playing silly on purpose.

2

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 7h ago

The edit removed the accusations that I don't have experience with transition and added claims that euphoria boners are a 'well documented and understood part of transiton' which either means that she is completely misunderstanding my point, completely misunderstanding the literature, or considers trans reddit legitimate documentation.

2

u/jankyalias Trans Woman 6h ago edited 6h ago

I edited that specific statement to read “this aspect of” because I realized I was making an assumption that was inappropriate. For that I will own up to a mistake.

But the rest is fact. You know absolutely nothing about what you’re talking about and being trans or not your bigotry is on full display.

Also now you’re suddenly “recognizing the overlap between sexual fantasy and dysphoria” as if you weren’t above shitting on people who may get a boner as fetishists. And even then you’re talking about something wholly different than what we’re talking about here. You are the one who has demeaned any talk of autonomic boners arising from dysphoria relief as just a fetish. It’s gross and you should feel bad.

And now we’ve moved onto “but what about the children” bullshit. Is this your first day on this sub? It is regularly full of content much more direct than this. Even I get a bit weirded out by all the puppy girl stuff but I’m not gonna police those girls and their fun.

Anyway I’m done, have a good one.

3

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 6h ago

You know what, whatever. If you can't see why posting about 'euphoria boners' here and how hard you get from wearing a skirt is a bad idea and have to assume I'm saying that there's anything wrong with the act itself or that it makes you less trutrans or whatever then just don't whine to me when your cause has effects.

1

u/Silent-Juggernaut281 6h ago

at no point did I "shit on people who who may get a boner as fetishists", what?
