Weird how this happens every time.

As a man I disagree, men aren't always hot. Sometimes they are cold.

u/Jim_skywalker 12h ago
If you’re cold they’re cold. Put your man in the microwave.

We need to give men comfy hoodies so they're not cold anymore.

I have like a closet full of those, when does the cold disappear?

There's no such thing as too many hoodie. I'm wearing a hoodie right now, but I also kind of want to put on a second hoodie.

add "every day i thank god that im not attracted to men". ive seen that a lot, too

u/TuneACan 11h ago
I distinctively remember one popular image floating around queer spaces, including bi_irl, about a tweet of a woman saying "The bisexual experience is being attracted to women and, unfortunately, men".
It really hurt seeing something like that. It had quite a lot of upvotes, too, but luckily the comments were clowning on the tweet and the mods eventually nuked it, but it's still a reminder that some people genuinely think of me like that.
I really do understand why some women feel like that towards men, and I definitely understand that they have it WAY worse, but still.

u/SevenOhSevenOhSeven 6h ago
People take 'I am not obliged two handle men like baby pidgeons every time I have two deal with them being distressed' and turn it intwo 'hooray I have the opportunity two be as cruel as possible two random people'

This sub has had a lot of issues since it's inception, as does any community.
I've always found this one particularly distasteful.
While I am not fond of the mentality that being a dick to a man is bad only because they might be a minority, I do find it impressive that that is somehow still not enough to stop some trans woman from badmouthing men knowing full well trans men also exist in these spaces.
Idk, feels like we should be catching ourself somewhere between "Let's not be assholes." And "What if we push away other trans people who aren't women?"
It has gotten better in my experience, though recently I've been seeing something of a resurgence of it.

u/risisas 11h ago
I think being mean to men is bad cuz it's always bad to be mean to random people who haven't done anything
82
u/BarelyFunctionalGM 11h ago
That is empathy, some people would argue it's something that you need to earn, and should not receive by default.
I would argue those people are assholes

Things like respect and empathy come in tiers tbh and idk why some people treat them like an on and off switch. There’s the basic level for everyone, if someone sucks they get downgraded, if they’re cool they get upgraded

i'm very confused as to what this means
224
u/Sentient_Flesh Streak: 133 12h ago
There are people in this subreddit, and in similar others, who have an attraction to men. And they like to express it.
Those threads are mostly wholesome, but there will always be a woman who isn't attracted to men and for some ungodly reason (we actually know what it is, given that they're a small group and consistently appear) must let it be known. They don't take the idea that maybe the thread isn't for them very well.

fair enough, I guess I just don't see male-focussed thirstposting outside of dedicated gay subs much honestly. Very rarely here.
76
u/General_Summer_1524 12h ago
the aforementioned annoying people are part of the reason why thats the case.

Pretty much yeah. I don't know what you would call this phenomenon. But this attitude on posts like this about men probably speaks to a larger problem that I don't feel equipped to tackle here on a meme sub.
But what do I know? I JUST LIKE HOT BOYS :D they make my brain mush

And to add, the one on the bottom half of the time will be arguing with others (who look a lot calmer, I may add) that the subreddit is being destroyed by psyops or whatever because god forgive having being attracted to something else.

Utterly. Being cringe is hot because it means I know you're not ashamed of who you are.

This sub has just gone so far downhill. Hitting all might not be a good thing for communities that are supposed to be more insulated, I’ll admit, but the people claiming the sub is being taken over confuse me. WTF are they talking about, have we been seeing the same sub?
Idk. TBH it’s the constant negativity and circular firing squad that will send me to other trans spaces.

Women are under such a microscope that the most bland of declarations will attract controversy.
Real constant “I love pancakes” “so you are saying you hate waffles” behavior.
36
u/SweatingGreytider 11h ago
I can see where you're coming from, but the post is more talking about how folks sometimes try to turn conversations that don't apply to them towards one that does, not giving the original topic its proper space and responding with hostility when they get pushback, y'dig?
27
4
u/CanadianODST2 4h ago
It’s more a post stating “I love pancakes” and having comments like “but waffles are so much better and pancakes kinda suck”
