I’m so proud. One of my ladies has been VERY fat recently, and today she has slimmed down! And here on the glass an egg! I think I also see one on the underside of a leaf several inches away. Seems like she did a big dispersal either last night or this morning. I hope they make it! I’ve had the tank for two years and they’d never need before. I think the addition of sand has really made a difference.

I've had nine pandas for a few years. I bought six, but they've been happy enough to reproduce over time. Since I've started this 20gal long it has only had a sponge filter and it kept up with the fish just fine. Then I added 10 neo shrimp and boy were they happy with their new home. I now have 200+. What I didn't expect was the huge amount of poop they would produce. It looked like a fine poop snowglobe in there. I resisted adding more filtration until I found good/large prefilters for the right HOB filter. Turned the filter on to the lowest setting so they could get used to it... and OH MY GOD. The pandas LOVE it! For a couple of weeks it was like a party. They rode the current, mated a little, had wild zoomies. I'd catch 'em lined up, just holding position over the sand. Even the shrimp go for a wild ride every now and again.
The water was clear within 24 hours.
I feel bad! I should have added this earlier! To keep things novel I change the setting sometimes.
Happy they're happy.

They like to lay in vertical/diagonal/horizontal positions usually with a pressure point on the face and tail

My wife and I would really appreciate some help with our sick panda corydoras and pygmy corydoras. We are new to fish keeping this year and several aren't doing well. We aren't sure what to do next.
Pictured is our sickest Panda.
Setup:
Illness:
History of care and problems:
We are in Canada and don't have access to medication available in other parts of the world.
We don't know if we should be putting one or more of the sick fish in a hospital tank (and giving them medicine?), or doing nothing, or doing something else we haven't though of. Any ideas or information are extremely appreciated.

First time seeing or trying to treat this sort of thing. Anyone know what I'm looking at here (on his fin)? All my searches come up with either ich or some kind of fungus. I have API Pimacure so was going to try treating the whole tank with that first, and if I have no luck then I will try Ich X. I have read that increasing temps/aquarium salts are not ideal for corys.

(Thyme's pic is old, her whiskers are very long now!)
She laid her eggs kind of everywhere in the shrimp tank but especially prefered the rotala, ludwigia and anubias. She doesn't spawn for hours on end and isn't the largest female so her average clutch size is around a dozen. When she started foraging and rejecting her male, Cilantro, I placed them back in the corydoras tank. Each egg has a 50/50 shot of being a longfin!
She was such an amazing mother too! I've had awesome luck with good mamas in peppers. I had two other longfins in the past who were also really good moms, they (and Thyme) actively avoided putting their mouth where there were egga and rejected any egg that felt unfit. So deapite her small size, I'm very proud of her. She did the easy part and can leave the hard part to me :)

Reeeeeally hope they do well this time. They seem so happy! In the past when it didn't work out, they seemed more stressed.

Hey all! I have a 10 gallon planted tank with a betta and this is my first time keeping corys. I did my research and decided I wanted 6-7 salt and pepper corys (corydoras habrosus) I live in a small town, so I had my fiance pick up the fish for me and bring them to my apartment a few hours away. Unfortunately the employee at the fish store lied to me about having the right fish and my fiancee left with a few pandas and a few pygmies. Very annoying and I would not like to return to this fish store.
The situation now is that I have one panda and two pygmies that survived transport and are doing very well! However I am concerned about the school sizes being wayyy too small.
Should I get more pygmies from the fish store a few hours away or get a few pandas from the local petsmart? I know pandas in a 10 gal is not ideal but I don't know anywhere I can rehome the one I have. Any advice is appreciated, I don't use reddit much so I hope this post is ok. Thank you!

Came home today to this chap motionless on the bottom and what looks to be heavy breathing, he has 2 damaged fins from what I can see and tends to slope to the right as he’s laying but jolts himself back up every so often.
He looks otherwise to be in good shape minus the fins and his behaviour
All tank mates are behaving as normal.
I’ve cranked the filter up to get more surface agitation than normal incase he’s struggling for oxygen
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5-10
This is in a 200L tank with a fluval 307
Tank was fully cycled approximately 2 months ago in a fishless cycle lasting around 8 weeks, was fully cycled by the 5th but fish weren’t added until week 8, fish have been in for the last 2 months with no issues until now
Tank mates are
7 Bronze Corydoras
6 danios (zebra and leopard mix)
Approx 20 exclamation point rasboras
4 ammano shrimp
20 or so neocardinia

I noticed this Cory for the first time today, it can’t swim very well, is having a hard time staying upright and has fast breathing (and its barbels are very short). A quick search led me to cotton wool disease and it seems pretty close.
I don’t have the equipment for a hospital tank, so right now it’s in a container floating in the tank, which I dump and refill with tank water often. I also did a 50% water change on the main tank. All other fish look/are acting healthy. Is this Cory too far gone? What should I do?

Lights, a small rescape giving them more sifting area, once again bedazzling the tank.

Sorry for the bad quality. I just happened to see this and didn’t want to get too close and scare them. Just pulled all the eggs out I could find and into my incubation tank they went.
Edit: Damn Reddit nuking video quality. This WAS in 4K.

I have a 29g planted aquarium with stable water parameters - ammonia and nitrites 0, nitrates about 5.0. it's a community tank with rasboras, neon tetras and two dwarf honey gouramis. They are all doing great. I bought a school of seven panda Corys, they were the first fish I bought and had the tank all to themselves for a couple of weeks. It's been a couple of months and I first noticed that one of them was missing his barbels, when I looked up the causes for that, the only one that I think is possible is too much detris on the bottom of the tank. My siphon was too big to get around a lot of the plants without disturbing them, so not as much of the tank was getting cleaned. I have since bought a different siphon which is much narrower. The gravel I'm using is Carbi Sea naturals, and it looks pretty rounded to me. They are not getting bullied and I feed them their own food so they're not just relying on stuff that falls down. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm currently cycling this 20 gallon long. My plan was to stock with a school of albino cories and a school of forktailed rainbowfish due to having high pH (around 8 or 8.1) hard water. Lately, I've been second guessing myself- wondering if there is enough floor space due to the hardscape taking up too much space for albino cories.
I think pygmies would work better size wise but I worry about my pH being too high for them. I dont want to use RO water. After about a week and a half of cycling, kH and pH both dropped a ton in my tank due to the aquasoil but, I dont want to hurt my fish when the pH goes high again with water changes and spent aquasoil. Ive read that pgymies can tolerate hard high pH water if they have been tank bred and aren't wild.
Would you stock with albino cories here or find some tank bred pgymies?

Hi, I'm relatively new to fish keeping, but I currently have three 10 gallon betta tanks all set up and planted. I've been a big fan of corys for a while, and I absolutely love them and their personalities. I've never actually had them, but I've watched videos and they seem like the coolest and cutest little fish.
I wanted panda corys, but I read that a school of those are too much for a 10 gallon, so then I started looking into pygmy corys. They seem perfect, but I'm just not sure if I should have them in a tank with a betta fish. He's a very calm fish, he just likes to make his bubble nest and swim around the plants or rest on his ledges. He doesn't really flare or anything like that, and seems like a chill dude.
I was just wondering if I should try out a school of pygmy corys and see how it goes. I do have another tank they could possibly do well in, the only issue with that tank is that the substrate is gravel and not fluval stratum. The other betta mostly just rests in his cave and occasionally comes out to swim around and eat. My third tank probably wouldn't be good, he mostly just tolerates the mystery snails, I doubt he'd like any other fish.
The tank I want to put them in is heavily planted (in my opinion) and has plenty of wood, rocks, and places to hide. Of course if it doesn't seem like a good idea, I'm not going to get them, but I would like to. Also is it true that I need a minimum of 6 pygmy corys? Or would I need more? I'm willing to buy as many as I need (I want an army). Thanks!

Fish sitting for someone and one of the corys look like this. They're aware of it, they just don't know how they can possibly help it, so I'm wondering if anyone else knows how it can be helped or if there is a way to prevent it in the future?

I am so sorry about the horrible photo quality they hate my phone and its so hard to catch them but anyways I noticed this little guy had a white spot on his head it looks kinda fuzzy but its hard to tell. I noticed it two days ago. His behavior is normal and he has been schooling like normal. He is in a 30gal with 6 other panda corys, shrimp, and snails. Temp is around 78 degrees Fahrenheit. Ph is 7.8, ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are all 0. They are all around a year old. Does anyone have any ideas what it may be?? And how can I help

Just got back from work and I notice THIS!!!!! Multiple beautiful clusters of eggs and big mama happily eating. Are these corydora eggs? If so, would it be alright to keep them in my tank or should I start a new tank?? Thank you so much in advance
I am asking because I also have otocinculus and there are more smaller clearer egg clusters, any help is appreciated! I’m so excited
