Guys the "vomit flavor" thing is so stupid. The butyric acid that people say makes Hersheys "taste like vomit" is also heavily found in Butter, cheese, and milk.

It's like people claiming Chinese food gives them a headache because they're "allergic to msg" but have no problem eating pizza or spaghetti or ketchup.

I've had people tell me about their MSG allergy while literally eating out of a bag of cheetos. I pointed out that they have monosodium glutamate in cheetos. Whoosh!

Lol, im old enough I remember the whole Chinese msg scare. Then everyone suddenly was the same. Group thinking is a powerful thing. Makes brand names famous

It’s not stupid and it’s not like the MSG scare because the opinion isn’t based on racism. I grew up with Hershey’s and literally thought I hated chocolate my entire childhood because it tasted like vomit. I learned later in life to appreciate chocolate once I had other kinds. Where I grew up Hershey’s was just the default chocolate, it was everywhere. Butter, cheese, and milk don’t taste like vomit but a Hershey’s bar does. The thought of eating some actually makes me a bit queasy.

So why does it taste like vomit? Because it literally does for almost everyone that didn't grow up eating it.

I've only had hershey once, I was pretty excited because I've seen it on American movies and series and it always looked so good. I hadn't heard of it tasting like vomit, but I could immediately taste it. An undeniable taste of bile, and it makes no sense to me why anyone would choose that over chocolate that doesn't taste like vomit at all.

Or are you just used to it?

Kinda like how cat owners can't smell that their whole house smell like cat piss.

I don't understand why people struggle so hard with "it's not my taste'

Only if butter, milk or cheese rots and goes bad though. Hersheys tastes like it's rotten, like when you leave milk out for a month and it becomes green and smells of old infected armpit cheese. Regardless of whether you know what butiric acid is or not.

It isn't stupid when you eat it and it does come with an aftertaste of puke, not that the initial taste was great either
