I used to have fairly big and curly hair.
Can confirm, occasionally bees and bugs and stuff get stuck inside. I used to be able to hide a pen in there.
And the hair here has to be 5x as long as mine was

Firefighter here. So fun fact we have these awesome air bags we can inflate that can lift a FUCK load of weight for movement of really heavy things off people. The jaws in this instance would probably mess with her hair, and the dude is in no real danger, other than a medical case of blue balls. So I would probably use the bags to separate the hair without damaging it.
And definitely no cutters.

It would be incredibly difficult to get the air bag to apply pressure between the dude and the hair if he was really tangled in it. Unless you can get him detangled just enough to slip the air bag between him and sections of the hair wrapping around his limbs it's just not happening. I've tested out similar air bags they use for off road recovery and they aren't what I would call thin.
Realistically it would end up applying the separating force between the dude and the girl's body. Problem is, that would ultimately end up meaning all that force being transmitted through her scalp to separate them. Probably not ideal for her health. So unfortunately for her hair goals cutting would be the safest.

We have to remember that this hair is apparently so thick animals and scissors can get stuck in it. So the industrial cutters we use wouldn't be any less thick than the bags and due to the hair being so dense it should work. Assuming it's really that thick that regular scissors can't even cut it.
If we're being realistic realistic cutting is obviously the best route cause....it's just hair. But I think this is basically magic hair

Human hair as you know is very thin and is very tough to break as it’s strong. If a single strand wraps itself around a limb such as a finger and gets incredibly tight, it can cut off circulation and in some cases, cut into the skin. It’s especially devastating to babies when their parents have some hair fall into their areas.

To be fair, there's a difference between assigning worth and having a preference. And for sure a lot of people's preferences are based on what they've been told to like and not their actually preferences. But some people just do\don't like certain things.

I'd recently bought a new beard trimmer but had to return it after 3 weeks as it broke down and replace it with a more powerful one.
My point being that Barber should sharpen his Scissors as they've clearly become dull, haha

Idk, it seems to have a life of its own. Imagine you're on the couch together and the hair takes up the spot between you. You need a second bed just for her hair because a queen doesn't fit all 3 of you. Birds nesting there in the spring start to swoop at you. You can never own a compact car again.
