Anyone watching the bcu?

I been living in jakarta so started watching them out if boredom, it's pretty fun. it's a connected universe based on old indonesian superhero ip. Even Virgo and the Sparklings which you can tell was rushed through production has a certain charm to it.

Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, its a connected universe made and set in indonesia based on Bumilangit comics ip, some of the characters date back to the 50s and 60s. In phase 1 now with 3 movies and a TV show with 5 more movies in the slate.

I find it a breath of fresh air from the marvel n DC stuff. Gundala was legitimately pretty good, like the raid meets batman, Sri Asih and Virgo had some pacing issues due to covid condensing the shooting but both have their charm (I think a lot of ppl won't like Virgo but it was pretty adorable despite the problems). Other foreigners might like following a long, they're very much made with Indonesians in mind so all the mythology and politics etc is quite unique and keeps it interesting for me at least.

Oh hey! Fellow Jakartan here lol, I was super invested in it/excited when they first announced it, bought the comics and everything.

Sucks the universe slowed down, I'm still waiting on that Godam movie lol
