Worth it?
Both belt buckles are around 60 a piece. I think there’s lots of cool coins, but are they worth it?

Picked up this 1899-O last week from my LCS for melt +tax. I had a hunch it was the micro O variety when I was in the store and when I got it home I identified it as VAM-5 with the die polishing lines on the right side wing. Super stoked on this pick up! What grade do you think it is?

I have a PCGS Platinum membership. Includes my annual 8 vouchers I'm about to use. I have had this toned proof 1961 cent i have always wanted to send out. I really have one shot the way I see it before I would have $50+ in the coin... PCGS likes to do the Questionable color BS on a clearly cello toned cent. its looks exactly like all the other straight graded ones i have seen. What to do? Just YOLO it to PCGS or send to NGC where I dont have a membership. But 80% of 1961 proof toned cents are graded with NGC it seems.

I've seen coins like this but always wondered what exactly they are. It doesn't have that same 2 tone split i see on other coins and it feels and sounds different. I'd love to be educated on it 🙂

Got a bunch of buffalo nickels today, all 36 or 37, but some were in great shape. Found that 39 raj sixpence the other day and I think it’s silver, also got a Deutsch Reich 10 Pfennig (Weimar, pre Mustache Man)

There’s something nice about an old coin envelope with someone’s handwriting on it. Maybe it’s a price from decades ago, where they bought it, or just a little note about the coin.
The old price might not tell you what the coin is worth now, but I’d still hesitate to throw the envelope away. Someone took the time to write that down, and it feels like part of the collection.
I can see how keeping every scrap of paper could get out of hand, though. Taking photos might be a decent compromise.
Do you keep that stuff when you move coins into new holders? And has an old note ever told you something about a coin that you wouldn’t have known otherwise?

An amazing mint error involving planchets of two different denominations. A half dime planchet and a half dollar planchet were fed together between half dollar dies, with the half dime planchet situated between the half dollar planchet and the reverse die. The half dollar planchet was indented by the half dime planchet during the strike, creating a mated error pair.

First time posting to reddit so i hope I'm doing this correctly. I got most of this from when I worked at a gas station and the gold piece I got from my grandmother after she had passed away a few years ago (yes I have been looking for a proper case for it but haven't been able to get one) there is more then just this in my collection as we loved to collect wheat straws i have 117 mixed rolls of wheat and Lincoln memorial pennies that I got from her as well we found some pretty nice stuff I still have one of the 1909 wheat straws we found. That was a good day for us. But what does everyone think of my collection

I don’t know if it is a double die or machine doubling? Please help me figure this one out. The bottom of the 19 look doubled but also look like wear with machine doubling. Thank you for stopping by.

The sides are still straight and fine, and I can't see any filing marks or tampering. I can't weigh it, and the thickness looks alright, so what do you all think?
Edit: Its between 1 and 2mm, 7ish grams
