He said I could say the stupidest things and you’d clap and they clapped
240
u/prestonjay22 14h ago
And he's proud of this.

u/Fabulus_usually 13h ago
Aren’t all cult leaders? It’s the power
21
u/prestonjay22 13h ago
Thats a power that has a gross feeling.
16
u/lark0317 12h ago
Learn more about narcissists? This is music to his ears, his deepest wish fulfilled. You only think that because you have some sense of shame. He has none, absolutely none.
8
u/Ktan_Dantaktee 11h ago
He raped kids; I don’t imagine he can physically feel gross aside from the concept of time’s inevitability being reminded to him
20
u/starborsch 13h ago
I mean, I hate Trump, but it makes a lot of sense to be proud of having a total hypnotised crowd that Will defend you no matter what.
7
u/prestonjay22 13h ago
That is low hanging fruit. Be proud when you have people behind you work to make things better. I guess he needs to have morals to feel what Im describing.
6
u/starborsch 13h ago
I totally agree. But it’s important to understand those kind of thing to not fall in them.

Even worse, they think of it as a compliment and are also proud of this.

You can't fix stupid. Stupid is forever.
19
u/Early_Register_6483 13h ago
You can take the stupid’s right to vote away though. Not forever - but until they educate themselves and are able to prove it via a pre-election common knowledge test. Call me dictatorial all you want, I don’t care, but such measures are overdue in each and every western democracy that doesn’t want to devolve into an idiocracy.
15
u/Andrew-Cohen 12h ago
I would prefer requiring basic civics/government/legal/constitutional knowledge requirements for law makers. If they don’t understand these things they should not be writing or voting on laws. If they can’t be bothered to take a few community college classes, they can just f off.
6
u/SpookySnep 10h ago
Also enforcing basic civics education in public schools
2
u/Andrew-Cohen 10h ago
Most states require it to graduate. Of course whether students remember any of it..

u/Ninetailedredpanda 7h ago
Can we add ‘must pass a bipartisan FBI/CIA background check before becoming a candidate’
You are a known foreign asset no you cannot run for federal office, like ever.
Bit biased aren’t we?
Yes, 100%

u/JohnnyD423 11h ago
Such ideas are great on paper, but once any level of inevitable corruption and human error come into play, people start getting disenfranchised. It might be possible some day, but it doesn't seem likely any time soon.

Yeah, thing is even if they were more educated I don't think that would fix this. I think we should start looking at this as a moral failure for them.
58
u/namotous 13h ago
And they still deny that they’re in a cult lmao
13
u/Hobby_Profile 7h ago
“Cult” to these people means Santanist or Witchcraft. They have not taken in new information since they were 12 years old. Dems=Bad, Repubs=Good, Trump=God’s Chosen.
Everything else is horseshit. Their brain is used on Work, family, sports, church and town gossip. They attend Trump Rallies because it’s akin to going to a concert and free. It’s a good time for them.
It really is that simple for most Trump supporters. Most aren’t even bad people, but their willful ignorance forces them into bad choices.

He's been doing this the whole time, he's just getting more direct about it and they love it.
42
u/Tasty-Initiall 14h ago
He told them they’re clapping for stupid and they proved him right on the spot
24
u/DontGetTheShow 14h ago
Unfortunately, Trump realized long ago for terrible so many Americans are and that he could just lean into being terrible and people would cheer. Historically, the Republican Party danced around some of the more racist/anti-immigrant policies. It wasn’t something you said out loud in polite company. Trump just started yelling it out loud and many establishment republicans were clearly caught off guard with how terrible their own constituents were.
20
u/RedditTurnedMediocre 6h ago
"I love the poorly educated."
"Smart people hate me."
"I can say the stupidest things and you people will clap."
Indirectly calling his supporters stupid multiple times.
10
u/shitshort 13h ago
The scary part is there is about 30% of these dumbasses inhabiting this country
5
u/NotSeveralBadgers 10h ago
And another 30% too apathetic, disengaged, or defeatist to stand up against them.
5
u/NRMusicProject 8h ago
And that 2/3 calls the remaining 1/3 "rude" for calling them the fucking idiots they are. We have to act like their idiotic takes (like pedophilia, taking our taxes from us and giving it to the billionaires, killing children, etc.), are valid.
3
u/NotSeveralBadgers 8h ago
Like hell we do, friend. Like hell we do.
5
u/NRMusicProject 8h ago
Agreed. It's time to call them out, and continue pointing and laughing at them as they call us "rude." They're trying to weaponize the high road, while acting like they're taking it while defending depraved actions.
8
u/undeadbydawn 10h ago
He's been telling his supporters they're dumb as rocks for a full decade, and they lap it up every time
6
7
u/MurphyBacon 13h ago
He knows they're all smooth brained simpletons and he loves it. Easily manipulated. Easily fooled. Easily submissive.
7
u/arthousepsycho 12h ago
The woman in red behind him actually mouths "it's true" while laughing and clapping like a moron.
10
u/Apprehensive_Low_383 13h ago
Willful ignorance, weaponized stupidity, and bad faith arguments are a hell of a thing! How do those boots taste, MAGAS?

I had completely purged the r-word from my vocabulary for decades. However, it has returned because it is the harshest word I can use as slur that Trump and his supporters are capable of understanding.

2
u/shorty6049 10h ago
Michael Che made a similar comment during his latest standup special on Netflix. Im still not planning on starting to use that word again, but if ever there were a person to be one, it's him
1
u/Emotional_News108 9h ago
Dude this has been a consistent struggle for me. It doesn’t describe anyone except these mental midgets so why on earth aren’t we using it? It’s like the first question I have when I see the next dumb headline: “Is this guy/gal a re…”
1
1
u/Real_Life_Sushiroll 6h ago
Yeah and those of us that are autistic and have had that word used as slurs against us our whole lives now constantly get to hear it again! Yay! I love reliving trauma!
1
u/FirefighterLeft5425 6h ago edited 22m ago
Was in special ed for my schooling. Dad was military and we moved all the time. I got behind, then fell behind. The amount of times I was called retarded... Is astounding. I'm intelligent in different ways just struggle with language and math. But yeah I've always hated the word and couldn't stand it being used on anyone.
But it's the only word I can think of to describe these people. And they were the people calling me retarded. So honestly whatever.
1
u/Mr_Halitosis 4h ago
Some people have gotten raped and handled watching Game of a thrones better than you handle a slur being used against someone else.
3
u/Real_Life_Sushiroll 3h ago
Uh... okay. I have been raped and handled game of thrones fine. Game of thrones is fictional media. You guys are real people making real decisions to use slurs.

It’s a group admission they’re not there for reasoned policy. They’re there to celebrate their shared ethnic identity. It’s a klan rally.

This applies to so many prominent politicians around the world. The trouble is people assume it never happens to their politician.
I have to admit, though, Trump is one of the odd ones out where he literally says the stupidest shit, without any attempt at even hiding it.

He's been calling them that since day 1 and they STILL eat it up.

At this point, I'm pretty sure he could live stream it and MAGA would still love him.

he also said "grab 'em by their p******" yet millions of women still support him
1
u/JManKit 6h ago
He told them they'd never have to vote again if he won and they cheered. I used to think that short of him irrefutably murdering someone on live TV that his base would never turn on him but I think now, if they just blasted msgs about how the victim was a democrat, MAGA would cheer it on

Trump is the most powerful person in recent history, as a citizen, not a president, he could single handedly issue a call to arms and millions will answer. Plenty have done it, but I never thought it could in the US.
-14
u/Eazy12345678 8h ago
90% of people in this world are dumb it happens on both sides of the political system
11
u/beepboop100110 7h ago
“It’s both sides”
Look, what you’re saying it technically true. However, the percentage of dumb dumbs on the red side is SIGNIFICANTLY higher than on the blue side.
6
u/Jjjjjjahshwhahha 7h ago
But it happens significantly more on the right. Like a lot more it’s not even close
3
-13
u/stevorkz 10h ago
Not an American so I have nothing to gain from this, but it’s why I hold the apparently extreme and controversial opinion that Trump is way way smarter than people think. Smart people can do dumb things too. Especially smart people who think they are smarter than all other smart people.
3
u/Deep_Satisfaction556 10h ago
I posit that trump only looks smart because all of those near him are truly stupid people. But let's be honest, his skill isnt his overwhelming intelligence, it is in saying things that can easily be selfishly interpreted by people who want him to appear important. People hear what they want to hear when he speaks, and these people identify with someone they understand.
2
u/seitankittan 9h ago
See I take it as the opposite. Smart people are using dumb, insecure Trump as their puppet to get what they want
2
1
u/Genre-Slur 9h ago
Au contraire. I would say that “he’s got a mouth on him” covers what strength he has.
-16
u/meatblast_surprise 10h ago
Unfortunately, this is brimming with cope, because in the expanded context, trump infers a sentiment of camaraderie. it's disingenuous to feign that he straight disrespected the flunkies, it was a "i know you got my back" thing that they appreciated.
I think we should stop soiling ourselves over meaningless clips like this, trying to convince one another that the conservatives are flailing, because there's battles to be fought while taking these intellectual breaks to rest on laurels.

u/Grand_Taste_8737 12h ago
Goes for both parties.

7
u/Collier1337 10h ago
Do you really believe that? Do you not see how hard dem voters purity test their own candidates? Or are you only trying to make this a both sides issue because it is deeply and utterly embarrassing to clap for this goon in 2026?
1
u/GrassBlade619 1h ago
The "both sides are bad" really lost its value after the first trump admin and is now a joke half way into the second Trump admin.
