You idiots are supposedly the journalists.
Unbelievable.

I love how the bigger story is "Everyone knew we were lying, we even knew we were lying, BUT!!!! Why were we not called out for lying? What are they hiding by letting us lie?"
83
u/BigBagBootyPapa 16h ago
“What were they hiding by letting us lie?” Should absolutely be their new slogan. $10 says it gains veiwers
23
u/jizz_bismarck 16h ago
That's kinda their argument against releasing the Epstein files. "If Trump is in them, then Biden would've released them. Therefore they should not be released."

u/cefriano 14h ago
If they're really so upset about someone sitting on evidence they must be furious that we're still waiting on the irrefutable evidence that the 2020 election was stolen.

u/chinmakes5 17h ago
Because if Democratic candidates had to refute every piece if disinformation thrown out by conservative media, worrying about which ones will gain traction, they wouldn't have time to do anything else.
58
u/tmpope123 16h ago
Which, is the point of this BS. Better yet, even when it's debunked, just keep repeating it anyway. All the right learnt is that you never apologize for lying and you can get away with it.
9
u/chinmakes5 15h ago
Honestly, I think Democrats have to learn this lesson. We can barely keep the Epstein files in the news and they can keep something like this going for weeks, even after it has been refuted.
5
u/Vyzantinist 16h ago
Yeap. Gish Gallop/Brandolini's Law. Overwhelm the target, who has to spend time refuting each point. Idiots in the audience think it makes the defender look bad.
1
u/Punch_A_Police_Horse 12h ago
Yeah this would have a bit more zing if I didn't already know that Fox News would look at that response and laugh.
24
u/Sheepdog44 17h ago
I actually assumed that the Talarico campaign was just so confused that they didn’t know what to debunk or respond to.
It’s like if you were home sick just hanging out with your cat all day yesterday and then I was like “You better tell everyone what you did yesterday!!! If you don’t then I will!!! And then you’ll be sorry!!!”
It’s so made up, stupid, and detached from reality that you probably wouldn’t even know how to respond.
5
3
u/Ok-Wealth-7322 13h ago
That's actually a strategy that the right uses, both mainstream politicians as well as "debate bros". It's the Gish Gallop, named after a famous Christian apologist who exploited the hell out of this technique in debates.
You flood the zone with bullshit and your opponent is put in a position where they can either address your bullshit or ignore it, and either way it screws them. If you address and refute it, you've wasted time on their lies and don't have time to advance your own arguments, and you've also in a way given validation to their bullshit by meeting and addressing it. But if you ignore it then their lies just go out there unchallenged, and listeners assume that the bullshit is true because you didn't debunk it.
32
u/Homersarmy41 16h ago
“But the bigger story may be” …that Fox News is a company of grifters and traitors who do more work for Russia than the American people. If we want to save America we have to get rid of this bullshit network and its stupid little offshoots like OAN and Newsmax
26
u/OrvilleTheCavalier 17h ago
That’s what happens when your “news” organization is required to be referred to as “entertainment.”
24
u/HasheemThaMeat 16h ago
“Omg why didn’t he just deny our deliberate lies and trolling?!”
Ok, I’ll play Fox News’ game. WHY doesn’t Rupert Murdoch prove that his wife isn’t his sister?? It should be so easy to debunk it yet he’s yet to produce the results of his and his wife’s DNA tests!
6
u/brazilliandanny 13h ago
Still haven't heard Ted Cruz deny being the Zodiac killer.
1
u/YikesTheCat 11h ago
I have evidence that Ted Cruz is the Zodiac Killer, but unfortunately I left it on the sofa and now it's covered in JD's spunk and hard to read.
2
u/red286 9h ago
“Omg why didn’t he just deny our deliberate lies and trolling?!”
He did. That's the really obnoxious part about all of this. His campaign explicitly told them that he was at home, recovering from the flu.
They're not mad he didn't deny it, they're mad he didn't provide video evidence to support his claim.
24
u/MessagingMatters 17h ago
If their employer name starts with "Fox", they are not supposed to be the journalists.
1
u/PromotedPawn 12h ago
It should be noted that their polling team is the exception to the rule. They're pretty much the only part of the organization that doesn't slant the data they get, to the point that there are multiple examples of the on-air personalities getting upset about a Fox News poll.
9
u/mettiusfufettius 17h ago
Why do you keep harassing me over the fire I started? Was I trying to burn the building down? Yes. But you’re missing the real point here, why didn’t the fire department show up quicker to thwart the destruction I attempted to cause?
7
u/Late-Arrival-8669 16h ago
Ukraine shut down Putin bot echo chamber, if we can do the same to fox news, the world would be MUCH better off.

u/Fellow--Felon 16h ago
Trying to shift the burden of proof after running with a fake story is absolutely unhinged.

u/jjskellie 17h ago edited 17h ago
Counterpoint. There is a trend in conservative GOP, let's say since about 2015, whenever evidence and facts are made public to show the truth to then by the conservative news side to shotgun blast counter stories, no matter how absurd, to see which has the most traction with We the People. The courts, politicians, law enforcement, and the reporting news are being beaten in submission. We the People seem to the last court that this Administration is afraid of. Hold back evidence FOX News? Isn't that what you do when you don't trust the other side?

u/RedditTechAnon 17h ago edited 17h ago
It's Fox, man. Republican propaganda. They spun the story to keep the pressure on. They have no concern for truth and they are not journalists.
3
u/6ixby9ine 16h ago
They just know their audience. Their audience isn't looking for information; they're looking for partisan talking points they can spout off to sound like they have a legitimate position.

But that’s the thing. As proven in court, they aren’t journalists, they are an entertainment channel. So there is no need from their view

not saying i disagree with the sentiment that is not what the lawsuit said. it said that Tucker or Hannity does an opinion show and therefore they are not news.

2
u/HenriEttaTheVoid 15h ago
Republicans are never accountable for their own actions - they always blame others.
2
u/Memitim 14h ago
LOL, of course Fox would release a rambling load of conspiracy-laden bullshit as an excuse for getting caught in one of their unending lies. Expecting factual reporting or anything not steeped in anti-American rhetoric is pointless.
Conservatism isn't a political ideology, just an excuse for evil people to pretend that their evil serves a purpose other than their personal entertainment. Making up stupid shit to deflect accountability for their betrayals, failures, and evil is like an instinct with conservatives. You just have to expect it and ignore it like all of the other pointless shit that conservatives say.

u/Nervous-Echidna2370 14h ago
As presented in court, "no reasonable viewer" would interpret Fox News as "news".
1
u/red286 9h ago
FWIW, the case was specifically that Tucker Carlson's show is not "news", but rather "opinion", and no reasonable viewer would interpret Tucker's show as "news".
And it's a legitimate point, but completely ignores the fact that reasonable people don't watch Fox News in the first place.
2
u/tstone1477 14h ago
They know 90% of the people that saw the story won’t see the rebuttal- they knew exactly what they were doing.
1
u/GreenAdler17 14h ago
Agreed they were very obviously acting with malice. This feels like a “don’t sue us” kind of statement. Setting themselves up to say “we were mistaken spreading this rumor to tens of thousands of people but look we corrected ourselves and told hundreds of people it was a mistake” so that it makes it hard to sue (and win) for defamation.
2
u/narfoleptix 14h ago
It bothers me thay rhe only way you can get these baby humpers to respond is by being a huge follower count account.
And that the huge ones arent saying shit like this to them.
I mean its written on plain English "we wont be accountable for our bullshit unless someone popular criticizes us." Its not just them too. Its almost all facets of anything social media, including streamers.
2
u/savageboredom 14h ago
This tweet omits my favorite part of this whole faceplant where they call it “mind-numbing malpractice.”
They’re so mad at Talarico for letting them put down their own rakes to step on.

u/Infinite_Strategy490 5h ago
"The Liberal Skeptic" made the mistake of using Fox and "journalists" in the same sentence. Dude, their entire business model is sitting in a room and making up shit.
1
u/NocShadows 17h ago
Oooooh! I get it now. Fox News must’ve heard there are possible openings in the administration so they are auditioning for the next most loyal to be promoted.

u/Ok_Zookeepergame4794 15h ago
Nah, Fox News and Trump have been on rocky grounds after they inadvertently told the truth that his popularity numbers were low.

Kentucky Paxton went to Dubai and partied with his mistress and a wanted criminal, but sure, this Talarico story is important...
1
u/startfragment 15h ago
2000s court case Fox News won the right to be named "Fox News" while being a purely entertainment company. Then John Stewart moggd Tucker Carlson so hard he didn't wear a bow tie for 25 years
1
u/DTCCCanSuckMyLeft 15h ago
Ah so now the victim is required to provide the burden of proof, and not the accuser?
1
u/runnerkim 15h ago
Well the inflation report just came out and no surprise, it's higher. Plus open enrollment for your healthcare starts Nov1 and everyone will see a large increase in rates. Just days before the election.
Yeah, you'll see an avalanche of this nonsense coming from the right as an attempt to distract you.
1
u/blighander 15h ago
Yes we were wrong, but why did they let us be wrong for so long??
I swear, people who listen to Fox News have the emotional intelligence of a four-year old.

So if you tell a lie about me, and I don't immediately drop everything and dispove it, then the "bigger story" than the lie is the fact that I "sat on the evidence?"
Olympic-level mental gymnastics.
1
u/Ok-Replacement9595 14h ago
The new rule is if the subject of the lies cannot afford to sue for defamation, the lies continue.
1
u/scumbagdetector29 13h ago
Fox News can't lie longterm anymore - that lawsuit. But while the facts are still fluid, they lie as much as they can get away with.
Yay...
1
u/Accomplished_Lab_675 13h ago
Fuuuuuuuck these people.
"Hey our side knowingly manufactured a completely false narrative about our political opponent using AI and other nefarious means, and we as an organization ran stories that further spread that narrative!" "How dare Talerico's team not prove that we are lying sacks of shit earlier!"

Fox News is Journalism or Entertainment depending on which one will save their asses in court
That's always how they operate

The REEEEEAL question is why he just let us lie like a bunch of oozing liars
1

Every time this happens, I just send Talarico's campaign another donation....
1
u/FeralKittee 11h ago
"Sat on the evidence."
There was no proof of him committing a crime, and it is up to others to provide evidence of one, not for him to disprove whatever complete bullshit they have decided to spin out of thin air.
Meanwhile, why isn't Fox having "Release the Epstein Files" as their main news every night?
1
u/Filamcouple2014 10h ago
Just let you run with the mouth vomit so everyone will know you are extreme, low quality, fake news with Trumos phallus in your mouth.
1
u/KMack666 10h ago
Fox News has changed its official M.O. to 'entertainment television', like Access Hollywood and TMZ, you're not getting actual 'news' from them

u/Pisnaz 9h ago
In what world is it my job to disprove a lie told by idiots? They say x, I say y, and it is directly related to my person, unless they have evidence they can fuck off. If a 3rd party brings evidence supporting y, it is also not my job to inform the liar about it.
The whole lot of liars should be suffering harsher punishments than saying "sorry" at 3 am or in places no one is paying attention to. Taking them to court is just too much of a pain in the ass, but this should cross a threshold of election tampering IMHO. They lied in effort to skew votes, fuck them and the fact that this has become the norm since 2016.

u/NeanaOption 8h ago
So they're insinuating that his campaign withheld the evidence to make fox news look bad by highlighting their lack of journalist integrity. And this is suppose to be the scandal not fox news journalist malpractice? Uh huh, ok.

u/halloween753 8h ago
Fox News is a huge cancer on society. It needs to be shut down. So much of the current shit in the world is because of them. Lying 24/7 and brainwashing all the dumbest, racist, homophobic Americans to vote Republican and screw themselves over.
1
u/cowbear42 8h ago
You have a fundamental misunderstanding if you think Fox News is supposed to be journalism.
1
u/BlueFlob 7h ago

Is this the state of free Press and free speech in the USA?
