Hey. I recently started playing civilization revolution again.

Are each civilization's unique units actually unique? Or are they the same unit but named differently?

I'm new to this older game and am looking for a resource that shows what the various map tiles with special resources (e.g., dye, rubber, silk, spices, etc.) actually look like on the in-game map. I'm playing on XBox if that matters. I've found the list of resources on the wiki (https://civilization.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_resources_in_CivRev) which has an icon for each resource, but the icon is not what the map tiles look like.

Does anyone know of something that shows what the map tiles actually look like in game?

Armsx3 emulator is pretty impressive on android! It’s barely playable on my Odin 2 but It probably runs better on more powerful android devices.

I have used PS+ Premium for the past 18 months to play CivRev but as of September 16 2026 it is no longer available to me. Any recommendations on alternative sources to play? I'm considering trading in the PS5 for an old Xbox.

Started playing stream on ps5 and miss the ps3 dlc scenarios. Pangea was so much fun with the big land mass. Anyone know if the downloads are still available on PlayStation 3 network to download if you brought them best part of 20 years ago now?

I’m able to consistently easily win on emperor, I find English, Greek, American, and Japanese to be the easiest civs to play as, but have only beat diety once, culture win as american, any tips?

Any better than this? Artillery army with:
- Great general
- Fundamentalism
- Samurai castle
- Hill
- British naval support (3x battleship)
- Infiltration
- Chieftain mode

Does anyone know the logic behind when units receive elite upgrades after the first one? The first upgrade (perks like Blitz or Infiltration etc) is consistent after 3 wins (or 6 with not veteran units), but after that it seems like it stops? Sometimes I’ll have units win 6/9/12/15 battles and not get any upgrades, and sometimes they will earn upgrades as scheduled?

Does this have anything to do with making armies? It seems like non-army units will earn the upgrades as scheduled. Also I have no idea what number of victories makes a great general spawn, it seems like 12-18?

Recently got the Thor Pro and tried ARMSX3 (emulator) on a whim. It works! How I missed this game so much after my ps3 broke last year.

If someone were to make a sequel civilizations game what features, or anything else you can think of do you think you’d want to see in a sequel game?

With how bad of a flop Civilization IIV is how badly would everyone want a new Civilization Revolution game
