I cannot post a screenshot unfortunately!
I have been working on an assignment, and in the middle suddenly things have started responding differently than they were before. I will attempt to explain as best I can, but this is my 6th week in Civil3D and my first ever class like this or experience with a program like this so it feels as though I am learning an entirely new language.
I am working in Layout1, not Model space. I am working inside a layer I created called "legend1", it indeed has the green check mark and I have made sure i am working inside this layer. We are creating blocks to make a legend. My teacher is able to do this in under ten minutes, I have been struggling for over an hour on just the first 60 seconds of the video.
- Suddenly, my cursor disappears when it leaves the box that my teacher has created. This box im sure has names and qualities that I am unaware of. we start out each assignment with a created layout that he gives us as a starting point, so a lot of stuff is set before we even begin. I want to call it the viewport, but the concept of the viewport is very confusing to me. I understand it is a window into a layer underneath, but it is far more complicated than that to me, when you start including scale and what works and doesn't work and where.
My question is, why is my cursor suddenly disappearing? I was able to pan the entire square into a smaller size and move around, now I can no longer use the Pan command at all, strangely, it is not even working inside the box either.
- The text boxes I have created inside this box, which I am assuming is a viewport whatever that truly means, are "too big", I need ten lines in my Legend. If i make ten lines, the last two go "outside" the parameters of this box and are hidden in the outside portion, but they technically still exist but go too long outside of this box. I am trying to get into that box, and zoom out, so that all the lines will show. I cannot just make the text size smaller, because the teacher requires us to use a certain text size.
