Troubleshooting Acer Chromebook Spin 713 screen issues

Purchased new in 2021. Used sparingly until about a year or two ago, and now it's become my every day at-home PC. Noticed lines and color distortion on my screen last night. Gets progressively worse over a use session. Asked Google AI, and they suggested updating ChromeOS (done) and doing a Power Reset (haven't done this yet).

Just wondering if anyone's experienced a similar issue, and if I'm likely looking at a hardware issue? If so, is it worth spending the money to get it fixed, or should I simply spring for a new CB?

I can't speak from experience but could you clarify which version Spin 713 you're having trouble with (CP713-2x or 3x)? They have different hardware platforms with different iGPU chips: Intel Comet Lake (10th gen) for the 2x and Intel Tiger Lake (11th gen) for the 3x. Their HWIDs are kled and voxel; and their AUEs are 2030 and 2031 respectively. Also, confirm you are using stable channel (currently v.154). Not using stable raises the possibility of bugs.

The barcode underneath reads: CP713-2W-5874.

As for "stable channel," I don't know what that means or how I would find out. If there's a way to find out, please let me know.

Bonjour

Si cela se produit en bougeant l'écran, je pense plus à un problème hardware.

try plugging it into a monitor to check if it is the screen?

There were numerous complaints of the 713 dying a few years back so probably not worth investing any money directly into it. The price to get someone to fix it would likely be more expensive than getting a refurb off ebay
