Brakence Album listening Party
Hey folks! I'm hosting a listening party for brakence's new album marroW the night it comes out. If you haven't heard of him, he lives predominantly in the space of alt/pop and Midwest emo music. Give his album “hypochondriac” a listen if you want a good ear of what he’s known for. Fans and the curious are both welcome.
Plan is to play the full album front to back on a bar's sound system, then a playlist after so we can hang out. Coming solo is totally fine, I'll be solo too!
Where: A bar in Logan Square (finalizing the spot this week)
When: Friday, October 23, 8 to 11pm, music starts at 8:30pm
Cost: Free, buy your own drinks
Age: 21+ since it's at a bar
RSVP here so I can get a headcount: https://luma.com/fa7rwa9v

Band looking to join a practice space
My band is looking to join a practice space in November, preferably in Avondale, Humboldt Park, but could travel out to other areas. We’re a three-piece and we usually practice on Sundays at noon but are flexible with weeknights too. We can bring our own drums/bass cab or share, whatever works, but we would like to store a guitar amp. If anyone has any leads, please reach out!

Experimental Sound Studio 40th Anniversary Celebration full lineup and schedule released 10/17 Free
More info here: https://ess.org/event/40th-celebration/
You’re invited to ESS’s 40th Anniversary Celebration! This is a free, day-long event at ESS featuring performers from the organization’s past and present, as well as drinks, food, and other fun surprises.
2026 marks ESS’s 40th year of operation, serving as the longest-running non-profit in the Midwest dedicated entirely to the sonic arts. This year also marks 20 years at our Edgewater space, so it felt fitting to plan an all-day, all-building party to commemorate four decades of ESS.

Looking for someone in the Chicagoland area who can improve upon DAW drum parts on ~10 songs (possible collab sessions?), as well as someone who can translate virtual amps and effects into guitar equipment I should purchase.
My partner and I are putting an alt/punk album together. She’s a trained vocalist and has released an album previously, but doesn’t really know much about the mechanics of rock instrumentals, and I grew up playing in the classical sphere, so the band world is foreign to me (big rock concertgoer, not a big rock performer… yet). I’ve written DAW drum and bass parts for the 10 songs we’ve picked, and I’ve built guitar effects using Logic, but I have no earthly idea how to bring these into the real world for performance, and I’m not very good at making imaginative or convincing drum parts.
I would love to pay someone to improve upon my drum lines and someone else who can advise me on the pedals/amps I should buy to properly match the style purported in the recordings and executed by Logic. Happy to offer production credits on the songs once we release them as well.
DM me if this seems of interest. Thanks!

Melodic Punk band looking for a Female Vocalist
Hello everyone!
We are an established rock band with punk, pop, melodic hardcore, and indie influences in search of a dynamic female vocalist to complete our band. If you are a female vocalist that also plays guitar or bass, that's great too! We're looking for those around 25-45 years old. We have 2 full-length albums and 2 EPs, with many new songs in the works. Some of our influences are Green Day, Rise Against, Jimmy Eat World, Helloween, The Sounds, Against Me!, Tsunami Bomb, The Swellers, Thrice, Bad Religion, AFI, Brand New, The Interrupters, No Doubt, A Wilhelm Scream to name a few.
We are looking for a versatile female vocalist primarily in the mid to upper range who can sing clean and also with a raspy vocal fry, not necessarily gutteral growls (kudos if you can!) a good example of the blend is Emily Armstrong from Linkin Park / Dead Sara. The sound we're possibly going for is in the vein of Tsunami Bomb, or a darker, more aggressive Paramore style while retaining the catchy pop hooks, weaving in and out of different genres.
We're looking for someone who has strong stage presence, energy and can work the crowd. Someone who is open-minded musically and highly collaborative, since we're always tossing around ideas and the songs themselves take on their own identities. As a lyricist, we're hoping you have a unique view of life, the world around you, or the most mundane things and have a story to tell.
We try and gig at least once a month to a few times a month, depending on offers... sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't. We are also open to doing mini weekend tours with 3-4 shows booked (it's not a common occurrence, but may happen. We just wanted to make sure it's out there as a possibility). We are also currently focused on writing and recording a new record. We practice once a week up in the north suburbs. Not looking to quit life or day job just someone who is serious, loves making music, hanging out, and seeing where the road takes us.
Also, someone who is over 21 is a must as we mostly play 21+ gigs.
**If you're interested, please hit us up at rebelsinstereo@gmail.com & please include samples of your work.**
Here are some links to our music, videos, and websites. We hope to hear from ya'll!

Seeking direct support at Cobra Lounge
Hey all! My band, Pretoria, is headlining a show at Cobra Lounge this December. We’re looking for direct support. Lotsa radius clauses around that time of year, so if you’re in an indie-rock adjacent band and have good draw in Chicago, shoot me a DM and we can try to work something out!
Reaching out to a bunch of people, but figured I’d put out feelers here too!
Thanks!
