Taco Nopal

Just tried this place for a quick bite to eat while out for some beers with a friend. I was sad when Japes closed because I actually quite liked their pizza, but definitely didn't go there regularly.

This is apparently the same people, but with cheap individual tacos and a (very) limited menu. Basically you can order 4 different types of tacos, and either soft drinks or beer.

Had 6 tacos and 2 beers for £22.50 between us. Honestly I was expecting very mediocre tacos but they were really, really good.

I can't see how this place can keep going on the Prom at these prices, but I hope they do. I'll definitely be back, good place for a work lunch or a casual dinner.

Planning a weekend in Cheltenham with friends

We’ve recently moved to Cheltenham and love it! However due to having a house Reno and over committing socially we’ve hardly tried much of what Cheltenham has to offer. We’ve got friends coming and would love to show Cheltenham and some of the best places to eat off. What would your go to agenda be for a weekend with friends (early 30s)

Plant lovers in Cheltenham?

Hey, so a couple months ago I got these Brugmansia seeds in order to grow it. The seeds are legit and can be grown, but I Can’t really grow them due to my failed attempts before. So I decided to try growing Brugmansia sometime later, and right now I had a thought to trade those seeds for some other plant, seeds/seedling (seedling’s preferred) private message me for more datails and if you’ve got some questions don’t be afraid to ask.

Literature festival is a blast this year. Apparently.

Just had a quick drive around town.

A police cell van plus a few police cars by The Terrace. Officers were having a chat with lads inside the cell.

A collision of entire three cars just off the Montpellier roundabout. Suffolk Square completely blocked.

A brand new Mini Countryman with no front end on Montpellier Walk. The car is blocking an already microscopic pavement and is restricting traffic on that narrow passing. Owner left an apologetic note promising he’ll collect it. In the morning. What a legend, right? 😅

I mean I’ve seen Man U wins with less fan action after the game. And that’s just Tuesday night for you!

A proper a crowd these readers, a proper crowd.

Libertine barbershop

I was just wondering if anyone knew what happened with Libertine barbershop by the brewery quarter? When I go to book online there's only 2 available hair dressers and when I walked past it seems like all of the previous barbers have left and their seats completely cleared out.

The History of The Honeybourne Line & Cheltenham

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Cheltenham Spa once had nearly double-digit railway stations, but now has only one, with many of these on the Honeybourne Line, which ran from Gloucestershire to Warwickshire. I dove into the history of this former GWR line as it relates to Cheltenham, taking trips to the sites of the now-abandoned stations and the heritage railway which runs through some of the stations that weren't demolished.

Two block haircut?

Anyone know where I can get a good two block style haircut? The last place I went was in Birmingham so trying to find a place here. I’ve been to a few barbers but most don’t seem to know what one is, which is understandable.

Stand Up / Open Mic Spots

Is anybody aware of any places that do open mic's or spots for new/beginning comics in or around Cheltenham? I know there's tonnes for music and quite a few existing places for existing comics.

Or is it just a necessary train to Bristol etc?

A Lot of Bible Courses

I was in Cheltenham last weekend for the literature festival and was struck by the number of people on the street pushing bible courses. There were several such stands between Montpellier Gardens and the Town Hall, and all cheerfully getting drenched on Saturday. Did they turn out especially in the hope of recruiting a few festival-goers, or is this a regular occurrence?

Make Friends

18F I wanna make some girlfriends as I am so lonely and have basically no friends, we could go to the gym, smoke, go for a walk, go somewhere crafty or whatever else I am easy going. I am currently doing music production at college and looking for a part time job to go alongside that. my interests include making music Ofc, self improvement, nature, vintage aesthetics and music, rap music especially female rap, reality tv (vpr and southern charm), cartoons, learning Russian, like most girls I am into makeup and hair. I HATE ai so if your some brain dead moron always using chat gpt don’t bother, I don’t like consumerism and not taking care of the planet(as in littering or similar behaviour) I want to be friends with girls that exercise, read, don’t spend their life doomscrolling, aren’t male centred (I mean it lol), honest, can communicate maturely, kind etc etc my dms are open!!

Meeting people at 19.

Been in this forum a fair few times, and have seen several similar posts to the one u am making now speaking and asking in where to meet people in and around Cheltenham.. and things to do.

I not a terribly sociable person, but I’d like to change that.. it would be nice to meet some genuine people and make some new friends.

But I don’t really know where to go.
I go to the gym, but I always go by myself.. it doesn’t really seem to be a place to speak to people unless you are familiar or go with someone (I.e: a friend).

Anyways, I am just wondering if there’s any other people around my age in the same sort of situation or if anyone has any advice from their own experience.

Thanks All.

Bad air quality in flat?

I'm hoping someone might have some advice or experience with something I've been dealing with in my flat.

I moved into a top-floor flat in Lansdown three months ago and have experienced a number of unpleasant symptoms since moving in, mainly itchy/burning eyes, nose, and throat. I've also noticed that I feel significantly better when I'm away from the flat. The symptoms seem to get much worse when I'm lying down and at night.

I've tried several things, such as:

- Keeping all the windows open for ventilation.

- Opening just the front windows, as the building has flue vents at the back.

- Buying a large air purifier and running it all night next to me, but it doesn't seem to make much difference.

- Trying to sleep in different rooms.

There's an open fireplace in one of the rooms, but it was swept last month, and the symptoms haven't changed. I choose not to sleep in that room.

There isn't an obvious explanation that I can see. I haven't noticed any mould at all, and the flat is very dry. The carpets look very clean, and the flat is vacuumed and dusted every week. I wonder whether it could be caused by gases such as VOCs or another pollutant, although I thought keeping the windows wide open would solve this.

I'm considering getting the property professionally tested, but I'm not really sure what type of testing I should be looking for.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, particularly in a rented flat in Cheltenham? What did you eventually discover, and what sort of testing or investigation was useful?

I'd especially appreciate advice from anyone who's dealt with hidden mould/damp, VOCs, unusual smells, or unexplained indoor air-quality problems.

Best place for anti eyebrow and eyebrow piercings?

Need a good place for anti eyebrow and eyebrow piercing that doesn’t require ID as I don’t have any yet. Price doesn’t matter as long as it’s not over 100 for both. I’d preferably like an answer from someone who has gotten any of these piercings or similar surface piercings as I know good places but unsure on whether they’re good at surface piercings!

Looking for a Christmas meal venue for 30-40 people. Does anyone have any suggestions (pub or restaurant) ideally in or around Cheltenham town centre that they can recommend?
