I've thought about this a lot. I think for the first time ever I am voting straight Democrat. Not because I support all their positions but because I see the devastation a MAGA controlled congress can do. I so desperately yearn for an ideal political climate where we can argue about the best policy positions to solve our biggest problems. Alas that will never come to pass and we need someone to stand up against these forces tearing at the fabric of our country. I hope the Democrats are up to the task. Please don't take my vote for granted

We all need to stop this fascist shit. The maga congress has abdicated their constitutional role. Thanks for joining us even if it is just temporary. I wish my old Republican friends loved the country as much as you do

I voted last Thursday and did just this. I’ve voted for a mix in the past, but I simply could not with this level of imbalance and obvious disregard for the struggle of the common person.

Yeah. I’m a registered Republican and had generally been an independent voter… but after seeing what the republicans have done since Trump I’m straight blue for the foreseeable future.

"We've already done enough" is such a wild thing for a politician to say.

the implied context "WHAT?! YOU THINK AN ELECTED TO-SERVE OFFICIAL IS GOING ...DO MORE?"

Republicans lost me when they said no new wars and they attack Iran.  Stop voting for these clowns.

LaHood hasn't done sh*t. He voted with the herd to gut aid to rural hospitals and, votes to give a pittance back to the state to dole out as it sees fit. He doesn't have an opinion until one is given to him. He's in Congress to protect the interests of the wealthy.

I recently flew on a plane with this asshat from Chicago to Peoria. His bitch ass steered clear of everyone, got on the plane at the very last minute and when it landed he ran into the corner of baggage claim burying his face in his phone. It was very obvious he was avoiding speaking with anyone. I thought politicians are “for the people”. Vote this self-serving coward out.

Lahood rubber stamps Trump. Do you think Trump cares about anyone but himself?

Every member of the LaHood family I've ever met is terrible.

The rural areas are far and away Republican. Let them travel to the hospitals. It’s literally what they are asking for.

The problem is the hospitals that have to pick up the additional load that those rural hospitals could handle now are being over occupied by referrals from our of the area. This means hospitals have to make increasingly difficult decisions - patients are being held in ERs for days at a time waiting on available beds due to over crowding and limited staff to meet demand. The fallout of the regional rural treatment facilities is a concern for cities as much as it is the outlying farmers.

And just as we should be make better decisions for people who's disabilities and addictions preclude them making good decisions about their own healthcare, ethically, I feel we are bound to do so for those Republicans making such poor decisions for themselves.

I live in rural America. We just a new health care facility built in a county of 2500. And 30 minutes away from a hospital. It’s terrific

I'd like him to talk to someone who has been treated in a rural hospital and see how well this goes for them. The cost, the access, the difficulties with rural transportation, getting good and consistent doctors. Darin LaHood is so far away from understanding and actually representing the people that he alleges to represent that it's shocking that he thinks he is capable.
