Just wanted to share that I took the exam today and passed. 6 labs, 58 questions.

Automation and Programmability 40%
Security Fundamentals 60%
IP Services 60%
Network Access 65%
IP Connectivity 84%
Network Fundamentals 90%

Seeing those scores, I’m surprised I passed. I know I did really well on the labs though.

I took a 4 week course on base (military) and mostly just practiced labs and researches the stuff I felt shaky on.

Hi all

I just wanted to share some news that I've passed my CCNA 200-301 today!

Here are my scores:

Automation and Progammability - 50%

Network Access - 90%

IP Connectivity - 60%

IP Services - 70%

Security Fundamentals - 73%

Network Fundamentals - 75%

I am still waiting on my official certificate from Cisco, but this is on my immediate preliminary print out.

Material I used:

Jeremy's IT labs, entire course.

Boson Ex-Sim.

Paid version of Gemini, used to give me practise tests and verify my notes were correct.

Posting here as I've been getting notifications from this sub for a while now. Seeing peoples experiences helped me mental map what mine could look like.

I had 6 lablets and 58 questions. 2 or 3 of those 58 were drag and drop.

Good luck to everyone currently studying!

Day 13 of studying for the CCNA, goal is to be ready by mid-December, that's 10 weeks total of studying. Currently 1/3 done of Jeremy's IT Lab on youtube and.... it's a lot of information and concepts to remember and to put into practice, I'm only day 21. I use to watch 6 vids a day, now I'm watching probably 3 so I can review/rewatch what I learned.

I started to lab more and more on Boson/Packet Tracker so I can reinforce what I've watched into practice, even then, there are nuances here and there for certain commands.

Anyone has advice on how to remember these concepts? Or understand them easily? I'm putting in a good 3-4 hours of studying everyday.

Hey everybody,

I've passed Net+, Sec+ & CySA+ and moving through my classes I do have the CCNA Cybersecurity coming up, how difficult is this exam?

Thanks

Hello, I’m studying for my CCNA and wanted more hands-on practice, so I made a website with AI’s help. Figured I’d share it and see if it helps anyone else. So far it has 3 free labs:

VLANs and trunks
Static routing
OSPF

You can type commands, use Tab and ?, check your configuration, and get hints if you’re stuck. No downloads or signup.

https://summer-term-9777.commandlabpractice.workers.dev

It’s still a work in progress and only supports certain commands. It’s not real IOS or actual exam questions.
Let me know what you think! If something doesn’t work or grades you wrong, tell me which lab and what commands you used so I can look into it. What labs would you want next?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently prepping for the CCNA and I’m a bit torn on how to strategize my study plan, specifically when it comes to using Boson ExSim.

For those of you who already got your certification: Did you make sure to completely master the concepts and lab configs (like OSPF, VLANs, EIGRP) in your home labs (like Packet Tracer) before you even touched the Boson exams?

Or did you start taking the exams early on and use the explanations to actually learn and master the configs as you went?

I'm trying to figure out the best way to utilize the exams so I don't waste them or take them before I'm ready. Any advice on your timeline or what worked best for you would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks!
Im using cisco packet tracer for study.

So far I’ve been doing flash cards and watching videos up to day 3. I’m struggling with remembering standards of the cables (I know it will come with time) on the day 3 video about TCP/IP video I retained mostly nothing. I did the flash cards and am still struggling to understand what is going on fully. He says in the video that we will not need to memorize everything right now. Should I be watching new videos everyday or move onto a video once I get better with the flash cards? What was your strategy when your brain started hurting?

Hi! Ever since I started IT, I’ve been solo studying and sometimes with help.

The thing is, I do Boson and I know I have to review the incorrect ones, but how do I know if I need to review a whole topic? Is it when I constantly get the same topic questions wrong?

Hi everyone, I’ve created a GitHub repository where I’m uploading and documenting networking labs that I build in GNS3. I mainly do this to learn by working with more realistic environments than Packet Tracer, while also starting to build a portfolio that I’m sure will be useful in the future.

I’m currently preparing for the CCNA, and having this extra motivation helps me stay engaged by doing my own experiments and playing around with the topologies I create.

I’d really appreciate some feedback on how you see it and what things you would improve, so I can keep them in mind for future labs.

Good evening. I'm 17 years old and a Russian school student. Recently (in April of this year), I've become interested in networking. I simply want to know more; not just know, but also apply it. I'm ready to spend all night poring over articles and news, understanding protocols. However, I don't really have a learning plan: yes, I should have started with a notebook and started with the TCP/IP model and then progressed further into the depths, studying protocols, applications, etc. In short, I'm extremely inspired by this field and would like to develop in it, organize my own pet projects. I downloaded Docker (I've only downloaded it) and want to create something like a homelab with services for my family. Now comes the main question, which is in the title: Is it worth preparing for these CCNA exams/certifications and others in order to then work for a large company or even start my own business? Will this give me progress both in my understanding of the material and in my practical application? What are your pet projects, because at the moment my vision is very limited. Tell me please from the height of your experience about the freedom that knowledge about networks gives? Also in the future I would like to work with networks or servers, I haven't decided yet because I don't know which country to go to which university (maybe you studied somewhere, tell me) Is there a future for this field of activity? I am overcome by an obsessive fear that by the time I graduate, AI will have replaced the profession I studied for.

I just did an official practice exam and felt overwhelmed, 75 MCQs + 5 labs, assuming 1hour for MCQs thats 12min per lab! There was also stuff Ive never seen before. Each lab had like 3-5 tasks with related questions, and there was even loading time required. I'm wondering if this is an accurate reflection of the exam difficulty, as there is no time for errors in configuration. Assuming you had 1.5m for each task, with 4 tasks thats 2m comprehension time. For reference JITlabs and Flackbox labs are much easier as they have explicitly instructions but here they are vaguer and you must recall each step

I literally couldn’t do two entire labs because I’m like “uh?”

A co-worker of mine recently took the CCNA after a few weeks of studying and is telling me that he passed with a 900+ score. My understanding is that the CCNA does NOT show you your score. I didn't confront him about this, but he posited to another co-worker that if you get a high enough score, the test will reveal your score.

I really like this co-worker and truly hope he is not lying, but is he lying?

In the Exam what are the labs like are they worded like bosons or more like Jeremy’s it labs as I find the way boson word them a bit harder to understand what it wants me to do compared to JITL

Hey guys,
Preparing for CCNA and had a couple of quick questions about the lab questions:

1. Partial Credit: Is grading all-or-nothing, or do you get partial credit if you get most of the setup right but mess up one command?

2. CLI Features: Does the exam CLI work like Packet Tracer? (i.e., does ? show available options, Tab autocomplete commands, and shortcuts like conf t or sh ip int br work?)

3. Restrictions: Anything weird about the exam CLI environment I should watch out for?

hi boys, whats the best router to practice labs for ccna in packet tracer?

I passed ENCOR in September and realized the thing that actually got me through it was having people to ask dumb questions at 11pm. So I set up a Discord for people studying Cisco tracks.

What’s in there right now:

• Channels split by track (CCNA, ENCOR, ENARSI)
• A lab channel where people post Packet Tracer and real gear topologies to work through
• Subnetting practice, posted daily
• General “why is OSPF doing this” troubleshooting help

https://discord.gg/yXmAy3ueRW

Idk if I’m wrong but I can’t see it.

I see Slaac, eui -64, but not subnetting?

Does anyone have any advice for last minute prep as my exam is in 5 days and want to know what other people did also any recommendations on WLC and wireless videos apart from Jeremy’s IT Lab ones

Into the 10th day and already feels like too much overload of info and stuff. Is it normal or is it just me?

On 10th of October i gave ccna and im certified. Doing L1 NOC internship which will be over by mid November. But how im gonna land interview afterwards? Especially in Bengaluru.

Is there any Github community or anything that deals with Packet Tracer bugs?? like they have this new version 901 which breaks the web broswers in pc now as you turn on a web brower the whole things crashes!!

before that they have that stupid but in 900 where they just make the text lighter than the background now you can't see anything thats written on a white background.

because of this now I have to keep on going back to 822 the only stable version till now I find!!

I completed CCNA and am trying to break into the networking field without a traditional tech background.

Looking at job postings, it seems CCNA alone isn’t enough to land a job.

For those already working in networking, what would you recommend learning next? CCNP, Linux, Python, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), or something else?

If you were starting today with CCNA and no networking experience, what path would you take to land your first job?

I’d appreciate any practical advice. Thanks!

Hi Folks,

I have been preparing for CCNA for a very long time but I missed to check one thing that PVC adhar ID needed for Pearson VUE verification.

I had my exam scheduled for tomorrow but I checked and rescheduled for 13th October because I was unsure about available IDs. Below is what I have:

• Adhar card (Non PVC - printout laminated) (Worked fine with multiple govt exams)
• PAN Card (PVC - has my name, photo and signature)
• Credit debit card (PVC - has my name, no signature or photograph)
• E-shram card (Non PVC - Has my name and photograph)

Pearson VUE requirements:

Adhar card requirement
Global ID requirements

My question is from individuals/team who work at testing facilities or have run in similar situations what can I do.

My Situation:

Location Delhi NCR

1. I have adhar card but not PVC.
2. I have PAN Card in PVC plastic form.
3. I have credit debit cards but there is no options to put a signature on it.
4. I have e-sharm card which is a govt card but not sure if this will be accepted.
5. I don't have any other ID (Votar ID, Passport, Driving license etc)

Questions:

1. Will my adhar be acceptable if it is not PVC?
2. Can I use my PAN Card as primary and debit/credit card as secondary?
3. Any other combination I can try or anything I can do?
4. Can I sign my credit/debit card any how to make it acceptable?

I have rescheduled my exam for 13th for now and I am really prepared, I know I have made a big mistake but I don't want to delay.
If I order the new adhar it will take 15-20 days that too will be delivered to my home address.
