got a kitten from the street last night, gave wet food, water, litter box, hidey hole, all that jazz. vet appt today and they said she’s 8 weeks, belly distended, probably from worms. i can feel her little spine bones. eating and drinking and peeing, no poop yet. friendly little critter. purrs when you pet her, even rubbed her face against me a bunch and flopped down against me. started being curious about the bathroom and explored the tub, meowed when she thought she couldn’t get out. lets me touch her all over and doesn’t react to her belly being lightly rubbed. she even purred at the vet and the vet said she was begging to be an indoor cat.
the vet gave her her first shot, dewormer, and a flea treatment, but i keep being concerned about her distended belly. when should it start coming down? she hasn’t pooped in the 24 hours she’s been here, when should i be concerned about blockages?

It’s super humid here most of the year and I still haven’t found a litter that doesn’t smell bad.
I’m currently using Trouble & Trix Natural Pellets. I scoop every day and run an air purifier in the same room and I can still smell it ughhhh.
Please drop some recommendations, thank you :)

So my cat is about 15 years old. In the last month he has become wobbly on his back legs. The vet thought maybe arthritis. Gave him some painkillers which made the pain go away but the wobbling is getting worse. I've seen arthritis in animals before and also have it myself and this just doesn't look like arthritis. He's still eating, drinking and everything it's just the leg issue

Context:
My cat has been having some mouth problems and when it gets bad she will only eat wet food and even then sparsely. Shes lost 2lbs in the last two months (we’ve been to the vet numerous times trust)
I really need to fatten her up so she doesn’t wither away, but I will fill her bowl in the evening and she does not finish it. She is definitely undereating but I don’t know what to do to get her to eat more.
Right now I feed her half a can of science diet kitten wet food (has more calories) with a handful of dry science diet and mixed with some water (she prefers pate & soupy rather than big chunks of food).
The worst part is I know she’s hungry because she cries to me and leads me to her bowl… that still has food in it! And then I top it off and she just scratches at it. 🥲
She eats, but not NEARLY enough. How do I get her to eat more?

My girlfriend and I moved in together on August 1 into a two-story, 3-bedroom house. Between us we have three cats:
**(1) A**: my 4-year-old female. She lived in a house with 2 other cats prior to me with no issues, then 2+ years alone with me prior to the move.
**(2) B**: my girlfriend's 4-year-old female.
**(3) C**: my girlfriend's 1.5-year-old male. B and C have lived together basically C's whole life and are fine together.
We kept A separated from B and C for a few days, then let them out. Initially all was well. A adjusted immediately and claimed the downstairs. B and C were timid for a day or so, then took over the upstairs.
But I think we made a mistake: we initially put all the litter boxes upstairs, with A's food downstairs. Soon it seemed B and C started "guarding" the top of the stairs when A came up to use the litter. We eventually added a box downstairs, which I have seen all three use.
But since then, A basically refused to leave her cat tree downstairs, for weeks. She hisses at B and C whenever they approach, and there have been several scuffles (with no injuries). If she leaves the tree, she winds up under a couch upstairs sometimes for hours. Short reintroduction attempts haven't worked. B and C seem more curious than aggressive, while A is the one hissing and reacting. This is NOT her personality when I lived with her.
Currently, A lives alone in a small room with her food, water, and litter, door closed 24/7. She seems content, but we both work full time out of the house and I'm worried about her lack of exercise and stimulation long term. It really really bums me out
**My goal is for all three to coexist happily.** Has anyone successfully reintroduced cats after a bad start like this? Should we start over with a full slow introduction (scent swapping, feeding at the door, etc.)? Is this fixable, or should I be prepping for A to live separately? Any advice appreciated!

Hello! So I noticed this scratch when I was taking a shower and the hot water stung a bit. And I don’t know where it possibly came from or how old it is. I worry about whether it’s a cat scratch, but it doesn’t look like a typical cat scratch and I didn’t feel anything scratch me to my knowledge bc I would’ve been reactive. 2 hours ago, I was walking to the store and from the corner of my eye I noticed a cat 3 feet away from me and I kept walking and looked back and it was in the same spot. The abrasion is located above my ankle of the inside on my leg. And I was wearing long sweatpants, put I didn’t see any nail marks from a cat. Does this look like a cat fresh scratch or an already healing abrasion? Also when I took this photo the minor scrape was already flat.

Hi there. I have an elderly cat (14 yo void) who has arthritis. He's on a monthly injection and I have an appointment for him on Monday for what will be his first visit in about 6 months, since I've just noticed he's having more trouble with some things-- getting up on higher cat beds, going to the bathroom.
I was wondering if people had any recommendations for litter boxes that are good for elderly cats. He really needs something more flat and open than a traditional litter box. I was thinking of maybe using disposable litter pans but I'm not sure as I've never tried those before.
I was also looking for any general recommendations or tips for caring for an elderly cat. Tips, recommendations for items/aids, things to look out for. I love this guy and I want to ensure I keep him comfortable and cared for as he ages. Cheers.

my baby boy, koji means the world to me and is the sweetest boy ever. i’ve had him since he was 2 months and he is still a kitten, only a year old and neutered. he is sleep trained too and sleeps whenever he knows it’s time
however he HAS to sleep right in front of my face. it’s so uncomfortable for me. his whiskers tickle my face and his nose is wet and he purrs too loud.
i lock him out of my room whenever im really tired but i always feel so bad leaving him alone. i don’t know how people do it or how to teach him to sleep like anywhere but on my face.

We just got a kitty a week ago, we were told she’s older than 6 months younger than a year. I’m almost positive she going into heat, she started lifting her butt and backing it into us when we pet or brush her and is being way more vocal than normal. We have an appointment to get her spayed in 2ish weeks but we are afraid she’s going to start spaying. Is this something we need to be worried about and is there anything we can do to try to help prevent it?

I have two kitties, an 8yo boy cat and a 6yo girl cat, who usually get along beautifully. They aren’t technically related, but I adopted them within a year of each other, and they love to sleep together, groom each other, play together, etc. However, we recently noticed that a neighborhood cat had been visiting our backyard and coming right up to our sliding glass door. Today, my cat, Inej, was watching the neighborhood cat when my other cat, Kenji, came running in and started attacking Inej. This happened again tonight, where the neighborhood cat was in our backyard, and Kenji chased Inej all through the house while she was screaming until I was able to grab him and separate them. Additionally, I’ve noticed in recent years that whenever Inej comes home from a vet visit, Kenji will act aggressively toward her (hissing, whacking) for a few hours until she smells like herself again. I’m guessing this might be related.
Does anyone have advice on how to make sure Inej is safe from Kenji should this cat continue visiting? I’m mostly worried for instances when my husband and I are away at work or traveling and can’t monitor them. Thank you in advance!

So my neighbor has an outdoor cat that comes into our backyard a lot. I always give him treats and food and when I was giving him a treat today a tear(?) dropped from his eye. I looked closer and it was watering. He was otherwise fine? He wasn’t excessively blinking it or anything it just teared up.

Them being home all day feels depressing to me. Im scared to let them outside because of coyotes, dogs, or cars but everytime they leave they always come back but it still scares me. I want to make sure they’re happy being inside.

This is my sweetie Lily, she’s around 9 years old. She’s picked up doing this thing for where she only wants to rub her mouth against me for attention. This has been ongoing for months, and she’ll rub her mouth anywhere on me but prefers my hands. Her teeth have been checked - all is well there, her teeth and gums are good. She allows regular pets on her head/body from my husband and then only does this with me. Anyone else have a weirdo like this? What does it mean?

My cat likes to play in the litter box. Any ideas how to stop this behavior? He doesn't do it if there is anything in the litter box, but the moment I clean it, he dives right in. He digs all around like a dog in sand and litter flies everywhere.
We have more than one litter box and I clean them both daily.

Is it dangerous to have a different booster brand when it comes to cat rabies vaccines?
The first one was Vanguard, the booster was Nobivac.
Any personal experiences with these brands would be much appreciated! I’m stressing!
