Recommendations Best CBR based experience gifts

What are some Canberra based experience gifts you’d recommend? Something that would be enjoyable solo too, if possible.

Recipient is my wonderful, time poor husband in his 40s who’s had some health issues so something that would be relaxing and recharge the batteries. He’s into music, food, art, cooking, nature.

Any recs are much appreciated!

If he’s into food, get him a voucher to make his own knife at Tharwa Valley Forge.

Not cheap, but it’s a great experience and something he’ll use for life.

I second this.
But be aware it is very physical work. So depending on the health issues is whether I'd recommend it or not.
The results are absolutely brilliant. I've done multiple courses at Tharwa Valley Forge. (I originally started going to them when they still ran the courses under "Blue Roof Gallery")
But there are other courses they run too. Not just a knife. But leatherworking and firepit making (And many others) I'd highly recommend checking out their website.
I'm not employed by these guys, but rather a 'regularish' customer who is so impressed with the experiences.
Also. If you have kids, they do a 'parent/child' workshop. (Used to be Father & Son). Where the parent and child work together to create something awesome.

I did the garden sphere sculpture course with my daughter. The forge donated the entire course (ie everyone doing it that day) to veterans who had just got back from a deployment. They do a lot of stuff supporting veterans and emergency services.

Wow, this looks epic, thanks so much for this! Out of my budget, but will look into this down the line.

Guided tour with Tim the Yowie Man or She Shapes History*

*I'm a dude and SSH are awesome tours.

There's also guided tours at OPH and the like that can be good value as well.

It's up there price wise, but I cant think of too many people that would say no to a hot air balloon ride.

Hard agree. Got this for my 79-year-old dad and he loved it. It is a very early start though.

Depending on his tolerance for heat and standing, glass blowing at the glassworks in Kingston is a brilliant gift. My sister and I bought my mother this experience several years ago and she's never stopped talking about it, has the glass bird she made in the lounge room.

Wildbark has quite a few different options. Mulligans Flat walks, mindfullness walks, Majura Pines climbing, workshops, high bouncy net things, twilight tours and so on.

I bought my partner a voucher to a sound bathing session and he loved it. It was a risky purchase as it could have gone either way - definitely not his usual thing!

The experiences at the zoo are fantastic!
As is Jamala if you’ve got a big budget

Burnelee runs an all levels horse back riding experience in which you get to plod along on horseback guided by an instructor and view some beautiful nature and wildlife.

The zoo has great animal encounters and glassworks has some cool glassblowing classes where you get to keep what you make, they also do neon making classes although it’s pretty pricey.

Spa treatment at Jindii in the National Botanical Gardens?

But the other recommendation of “The Forge” sounds amazing

Jindii is not great. Definitely check their reviews on google.

Oh, it was, but last time was maybe 18 months ago. Yes much better spas, but the setting was nice

We did a sour dough bread making class in Aranda recently and a cocktail mixing course in New Acton a few years back. Both were lots of fun.

If he’s into planes there’s a couple of flight simulator instructor things that are pretty cool for $130 or so

One of the most relaxing things for me is a BBQ out at Namadgi national Park- Orroral Valley is a wonderful picnic spot with free BBQs. You can joosh it up by getting a picnic hamper from Pollen Cafe at the Botanic gardens.
