I’ll be in CDO for most of December and I’m not really familiar with the running routes in the city. So I was wondering if anybody wants to do their long runs with me, or if I can join any local running groups training for TBR.

I’m disappointed in myself kay sa among research colloquium, wala mi naka-win og award sa bisan asa sa tulo ka categories. Eight groups ra mi tanan, and two groups ra ang nakakuha sa tulo ka awards between them.
Naa mi statistically significant results sa among study, and upat ra mi ka groups ang naay significant findings. Honestly, I feel like naa unta koy chance nga maka-win og at least one award kung tarong lang unta nako og tubag ang questions sa panel, especially kay kami pa jud ang pinakaunang group nga nag-present.
The worst part kay naa'y question ang usa sa mga panelists nga gipangutana sa akoa, pero layo ra kaayo akong tubag. 😭 Gusto unta nako ipasa ang question sa akong groupmate kay iyaha man jud to nga part sa research, pero wala siya ni-take sa microphone. Ako pa jud ang group leader, so ako na lang ang napugos og tubag.
I've been revising our research paper, and honestly, feel nako ako ang nagbuhat sa kadaghanan sa among group work. Makaingon jud ko nga medyo tapulan akong mga members kung bahin na sa pag-contribute. Three days before the colloquium, sige ra jud kog revise sa paper, design sa poster, and pag-arrange sa printing. Nitabang man sila, pero I would say nga ako jud ang pinakadako og contribution. More on input ra sila and gamay nga revisions sa akong mga nabuhat na.
The night before the colloquium, nagtapok mi sa among accommodation para mag-edit sa PowerPoint presentation and mag-study sa among research paper. However, walay signal sa among gipuy-an, and nag-ulan pa jud, so niuli ko sa amoa. 😭 Nibalik ko sa among accommodation around 2 AM kay ang tuyo jud nako kay mag-study mi together.
Pag-abot nako, gipukaw nako sila, pero ana akong usa ka groupmate nga nag-study na daw sila while wala pa ko. Ana sila nga mag-study na lang daw sila unya kay katulgon pa sila, bisan pa og dugay na daw sila nag-study.
Mga 3–4 AM na, pero naghigda pa gihapon sila. Wala man lang kaayo silay gipakitang intention or willingness nga mag-study mi together, bisan pa og ang goal nako kay mag-run through jud mi sa among research kay sa buntag na baya ang colloquium.
In the end, sa buntag na sila nakig-study sa akoa, human na sila og ligo. Jusko. 😭

Murag ang mindset nila kay mahuman lang ang research, while ako kay nag-aim jud nga maka-win mi og award. Honestly, feel nako wala kaayo koy nakuha nga support gikan nila.

Pag-abot na sa among turn nga mag-present, I think ang combination sa kakulba, kulang sa tulog, and kakapoy maoy nakaapekto sa akoa. Murag nawala ko, and dili na tarong og function akong utok.
Ang first question kay gipangutana sa akoa, and naa sa akoa ang microphone. Gusto unta nako ipasa sa akong groupmate kay iyaha man to nga part sa research, pero wala siya ni-take sa microphone. Mas nakalagot pa jud kay mao man to nga part ang iyang gi-discuss sa among PowerPoint presentation.
Mao to nga moment nga nasuko na jud ko. Then, pag-answer nako sa question, layo ra kaayo akong tubag. Dili jud nako natubag og tarong ang gipangutana sa panelist. 😭
I'm really disappointed in myself. Ang adviser nga ni-duol sa amoa before sa presentation, apil ang usa ka instructor nga iyang friend, murag nausab ilang facial expressions after nila nadungog among mga tubag.
Dili nako malikayan nga maghunahuna nga na-disappoint sila sa akoa kay feel nako naa silay expectations sa among group, especially sa akoa. First, among study had statistically significant findings, and upat ra mi ka groups nga naay significant results. Second, usually mas confident man ko kung public speaking na ang hisgutan.
Pero pag-abot sa colloquium, dili man lang nako natubag og tarong ang question. Naulaw jud ko, especially kay daghan kaayog audience, apil ang mga students from lower-year levels.
I also feel bad para sa akong groupmate kay iyaha man to nga part sa research, pero ako ang nakatubag sa question para niya, unya wala pa jud nako matubag og tarong. Before pa sa colloquium, gi-remind na nako akong mga groupmates nga tun-an nila ilang respective parts.
Honestly, makaingon pud ko nga naay attitude issues akong mga groupmates. Friends man pud mi, mao nga mas complicated ang situation. Ang usa sa akong groupmates kay mo-ilog ra sa microphone kung ang question kay kaya niya tubagon or kung comfortable siya sa question.
Dili nako mapugngan og hunahuna kung unsa kaha ka-disappointed ang adviser nga nagtan-aw sa among presentation.
Nag-aim jud ko nga maka-win og award, bisag usa lang. Daghan kaayo kog oras nga gigahin sa among research poster, pero wala gihapon mi nakadaog sa maong category. Napildi pa jud mi sa group nga AI-generated ang poster. 😭
I'm sad and disappointed kay gusto jud nako nga naa koy ma-achieve pinaagi aning colloquium.
Upat mi ka students sa among class nga nag-excel academically. Duha nila kay running for Latin honors, and ang usa kay nakadaog og Best in Thesis Paper. Samtang ako, wala jud koy nadaog.
Kabalo ko nga dili unta nako i-compare akong kaugalingon sa uban, pero dili jud nako malikayan. I feel discouraged and disappointed in myself. Murag ang tanan naa'y achievements, samtang ako kay nabilin na lang.
Graduating na ko, and honestly, feel nako nahurot na akong opportunities nga maka-achieve og something meaningful during college. Wala ko kabalo kung naa pa ba koy parehas nga opportunities after graduation.
Sa pagkakaron, nawad-an jud kog gana nga mosulod sa school ugma. Kabalo ko nga dili unta ko dapat ing-ani ka-feel, pero dili jud nako malikayan. Huhuhu. 😭
I genuinely need advice, especially from people who have experienced research colloquiums, thesis defenses, or panel interviews, as well as those with career experience.
How do you cope with the disappointment of not achieving something you worked so hard for? How do you stop overthinking what other people might think of you after a bad performance?
